• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

I had a car that the engine failed after the warranty, paid for a new engine. A year or 2 later they extended the warranty on the engine too 100k miles. I submitted my paper work and got reimbursed.

That's pretty awesome yet rare I believe. Who was the car manufacturer if you don't mind me asking?

@JerseySXP Honda does this for sure, similar thing happened with our pilot and reimbursed us for all costs for the repair, so it's not unheard of, but Hyundai/Kia certainly isn't extending any goodwill so far your direction. I hope you can work something out, but I wish KIA wasn't so confrontational on the issue and would actually look at it and try to make the customer happy... at the very least, their handling of this is a black eye for them to anyone who's read yours and other's struggles with this vibration issue ☹️

It was Mazda. Also it is about 125 to 150 to balance a driveshaft. Kia would probably just replace it and that cost much more over 700 for the parts.

Picked up my SXP AWD nightfall no tow today. Ordered in July and produced in December. It does NOT have a vibration at any speed. I followed this thread from the beginning and it was the first thing I looked for. It's completely smoothe. So the issue is not spread across all SXs, unfortunately or fortunately :(

I hope that's the best case yet but mine didn't start for a couple of weeks.

I'll definitely update if there's a change. Fingers crossed.

That is not how this works - no car manufacturer just reimburses you for stuff...they aren't in the business accepting another invoice from a mechanic and cutting you a check...what if you have a mechanic buddy who works up a nice fat invoice for you to submit? No way in hell that works.

Paranoid? Sure...slightly...you deal with Kia HQ for 5 weeks like I have and I'm sure you would end up the same way - I'm just letting all of you know Kia HQ truly doesn't care about the end buyer. I talked to a lawyer today and he said by far in his law offices the largest number of lawsuits are against Kia...
wow! I just ordered mine, fingers crossed I don't have to deal with this sort of crap. Please keep us posted.

In Russia:

this was the case with the Volkswagen, they extended the warranty on Tiguan engines due to problems with the cylinders and they all changed engines after the warranty and paid those who made repairs for their money.

And with Kia it was about the converter / catalyst. Kia gave a guarantee for this part for only 1000 km, yes yes, only a thousand. When the engine flew, they were denied warranty due to poor gasoline, clogged catalytic converter / catalyst and, as a result, engine breakdown. It all went into information resources, sales began to fall and Kia changed the warranty on the converter / catalyst. But those who faced the problem before, suffered losses.

@JerseySXP , how is your problem solved? What's new?

status quo....just back and forth with them since it's "normally operating" to them but won't picoscope it? Shaking my head.

Making any headway with Kia on your issues?

not. Kia Canada confirmed everything, acknowledged that these are manufacturing defects. I have repeatedly written to the plant, the general and the lady whom you shared, but ..... they ignore me. The application was submitted to the court and sent to KMMG. I think they will get it at the end of the week, I'm waiting.

Anyone have any updates on their situations or has anyone who has recently picked up had this problem? My ride is just not as smooth as every review and many people on this forum claim it to be. I still have a “pulsating” vibration felt in the gas pedal/floor, gear shifter and seat. Sometimes it’s less noticeable but always present. I’m hoping to get as fortunate as some others and just have the dealer drop the rear driveshaft so I can at least tell if that’s the issue but we all know how that game goes...

An update on my EX AWD with the 70mph driveline vibration. After a week at the dealer they have diagnosed the issue as the rear propshaft. Estimated arrival of the new part is Sept 19th. I also asked them to check everything the propshaft was attached to, so transfer case, rear diff, support bearing etc. I'm eagerly awaiting the update.
Did you ever get this resolved? Just left the shop and the diagnoses this on my vehicle too.

Simple poll. Has anyone with the vibration issue actually got it resolved? Was it resolved by changing out the Propeller Shaft and CV axel?

Post 832 has the most details on parts replaced to resolve the issue.

6 other owners had replaced driveshafts/couplers.

Does anyone feel a “vibration” in the gear shifter when accelerating? I’ve never noticed this to be the case in other cars and I’m not sure if this is normal or not? I thought it may be related to driveshaft issues, and maybe it is, but dealer doesn’t seem to think it’s anything abnormal.

No, I have a slight vibration that occurs at a certain speed. A very short speed range, it looks like the wheels are out of balance, but does not go to the steering wheel, but to the body.
wheels are balanced.

Hi All - i've been following this thread for a while. I just sold my 2015 genesis g80 that also had a TSB for driveshaft vibration between 24-35 mph. My entire propeller and shaft assembly were replaced from front to rear transaxle.

So, is this still an issue with Telluride AWD cars?

TIA.
