Looks good!! I will be installing an audio upgrade in my LX soon and this was really helpful. Any other tips you might have would be great.

Where did you tap into to get your signal for your LC2 input?

The location of the floor harness where I got my high level input. Note the wire color change from one harness to another. This is at the passenger side kick panel. The speaker leads are the top 4 on the white clip. The driver side inputs are at the driver side kick panel.

Hey there! It's amazing to see all the insides of the Telly especially after I was just staring at the head unit asking myself how the heck am I supposed to tap into the wires behind the head unit?! lol But I see you clearly know what you're doing and figured out the wires are right by the kick panel; you definetly motivated me to try it myself but my question is did you actually cut any of the factory wiring? and which wires did you tap into for your high level input? Thanks for your post!

I did end up cutting into the factory wires. If your not into that idea I am sure someone will come out with a T harness sooner or later for the plug at the head unit. The wires i cut are the top 4 on the white clip on attachment 4435 aka the kick panel pictures. The wires are red, blue, green, and orange. The drivers side are brown, white, blue, and yellow. On one of my other posts in this thread i have the kia paper diagram and it also shows where the wires for some reason swap colors at the clip.

Any chance you can post the Kia diagram. I’m about to do an install using the audio control lc2i. I know the pass side wires are red/green/blue/ orange which colors are the pairS on the pass side to wire up to the corresponding inputs on the lc2i?

100 percent yes. In my EX the rear is a much lower signal and I suspect the low end is filtered. Use the front lines for any bass amp install. Or any amp if you don't care about fade control from the head unit.

perfect. So in your diagram I’d be tapping into the red/blue wire. Then run it to the back to my audio control lc2i converter.

Yes and the blue is positive on the upper wire harness and negative after it passes the kick panel. So positive and negative colors change depending on where you tap in.

I was gonna locate that exact spot you showed a picture of. If I tapped in exactly at this point. Is blue still positive?

SoOo... I was a bit hesitant of tapping and cutting into wires that I decided to do it in a way that if and when I upgrade my car all I can do is just unplug and replug everything back to normal. I ran wires from the speakers to the amp as (Line input on AMP) and then wires back from the amp to the speakers (Output on AMP) Added a sub in an enclosure and plugged it straight to the amp (that was already getting signal in) and done ^_^ Once I upgrade my Telly to a newer one once the lease is done all I do is simply bring everything back as it was from factory; no damage done. I currently have the LX model but the sound system was very weak & for someone who loves to drive around with loud music as myself this project made me love my telly 100x more! I've never done a project like this so in basic terms... If I can do it you can do it.

^^^Also replaced all the door speakers which is the easiest upgrade to do on the telly...

On the diagram MF11 and MF21 are the wiring clip. So in that picture the red is + and blue -. Once you have the clip out you will see how the wire on one side is a different color. I have no idea why they did that.

Just want to say thank you for posting your install. I was able to complete my sub upgrade this weekend and it was thanks to you pictures and diagrams. I went through the firewall exactly the same. Used the speaker wires from the passenger kickpanel!! This thing bumps for what it is.

Do you know if the wiring diagram is the same between the EX and SX? As much as I've been enjoying the audio system in my SX. I do feel as it needs a little extra bass.

Also instead of adding an extra bass bin, would it be possible to just upgrade the subs that are already in the vehicle and put their on their own amp?
