• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Amplifier install EX

(Nevermind the messy cargo area)

I had the Rockford Fosgate P300-12 in my last car (Sportage), but it wouldn't fit/conceal well in the Telly. So I went with the P300-8 so I could place it in the storage compartment. It's a single amp/sub unit, and doesn't need a remote wire. It powers on when it detects the RCA input, so it was one less wire to splice into or run through the car.

I grabbed the RCA inputs from the kick panels noted/pictured from previous posts, and ran all wires (power, RCA, and controller) through the driver side kick panels, then through the storage area for the jack.

For a single 8, it's surprisingly loud. Will have to play with the settings a bit to tune it out, but well worth the time and effort.
Does it rattle the storage cover ?

Not that I've noticed. In my head, since I left the sliding cover for the cargo cover off, any air/pressure created by the sub in the compartment escapes into the wheel well.

OK here is the basic layout. I used a kicker key 180.4 amp. Its under the passenger seat and i have a rockford fosgate amp for the sub that will go under the drivers seat. All the door speakers have been replaced.

Here is the wiring diagram for the head unit. Notice the wires reverse color on all the doors except one.

Here is how the amp ended up for now. Also where I poked through the firewall to run the power wire.

Ok, I wanted to ask this since I’m doing an install on my 2021 telluride EX. (Hopefully get an answer). I see the diagram and I’m installing a 4 channel amp for the doors. My question is, when I cut the wires in the kick panels, I take the pos and neg (red, blue and orange/green) and run those to my inputs on my 4 channel. But when I come back, I have to flip flop it for the door speakers pos/neg to be connected correctly on the 3 doors?

Correct Unless they changed that from the 2020 to 2021. You can double check by looking at the wires on each side of the clip in the kick panel. I could see that the wire was going from one color to the other there.

I’m installing a Sundown Audio SFB1500d amp. I have an LC7I converter and am having trouble installing. What exact wires and on which side of the clip do I tap into? Do I need to use wires from driver and passenger side or just tap into the wires on one or the other?

I used wires from the pass and driver side. Posts 11 and 12 on this thread. The clips where i tapped into are in the kick panels.

I was able to get the converter installed but I only tapped into the clip on the passenger side kick panel. I only tied into the blue(+) and red(-) on the upper harness side of the clip. Would I benefit at all from also tapping into the clip in the driver side and connecting to my converter? I’m running 1 Sundown SFB1500D amplifier and 2 Sundown SA-12 subs at 1 ohm

If you want any left channel sound for your subs then you would also need to tap into the other side for input.

I have a SX with Harmon and Karmon. Wanted a deeper base so installed two kicker comprt 12s. Here’s how mine came out
This is exactly how I want to tackle my install. I just ordered the LC2i. What wires did you tap into for the speaker inputs, remote in, and 12v? Thanks for your help and nice work.

I utilized what in my personal opinion is the best amp for this project because it's a line converter and amp in one. With this amp you can create up to 6 channel control with just one small yet efficient amp... To those that own a LX model (don't know if other models have this issue as well) you know that when you raise the volume past "37" the bass drops and its like you're losing volume instead of gaining? well this amp has what its called accubass which brings that lost volume back! :sneaky:

I don't wanna sound like a advertiser but its just soOoo exciting and all tellurides should sound and look like greatness! after all being world car of the year! :ROFLMAO:

Below is a link provided for you guys in which it also comes with a free $50 gift card that you can use to purchase the amp wiring kit or anything else you may need. If anyone has any questions im open to answers. The sound difference is AMAZING! what I love most of this amp aside that I don't have to deal with multiple amps and that I managed to install an amazing subwoofer that docent take up so much cargo space is the fact that the amp itself protects your speakers it will literally show you when your speaker is clipping so you won't blow out the speakers. (I am a total newbie at this and I got more satisfaction doing this myself than paying and outsider tons of money; best believe I've done my research)

Again... Everything I did on my Telluride is completely reversible, meaning if tomorrow I need to put it back as it came from the factory all I have to do is just disconnect what I added and connect the original wires... I did not cut or splice not 1 wire... 😌

Below are the links of some of the items I used. Happy to help you all 😄

How long did this take you and do you have any pictures?

@tyson3371 Out of curiosity where were you able to bring the power wire through the firewall at. I kinda see how you ran it but I know its probably impossible to get a picture of the actual spot in the firewall.

Trying to find the both front lower speaker wires to tap into. I've looked at the pics in this thread 100 times and for some reason they do not match what's behind the kick panels in my 2021 SX . Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you go to the floor on the drivers side and look maybe half a foot above the footrest. There is a flat area on the firewall. I ran the power though a hole I drilled in that area.

I am fairly sure the sx has different wire harnesses in places. I know the engine area is different for the led headlights and some wires are different for the subwoofer and third row speakers. I’m not positive the parts near the kick panel would be different but that’s my best guess. I would pay the $30 or whatever to access the Kia tech site to get exact specs on the wire harnesses for your SX.

I am in the process of upgrading my speakers in my 2021 SX. I currently have the LC7i installed and it has cleaned up the sound immensely but I am still not happy about the output. There is a bass drop at higher sounds and different songs and sources definitely play differently. I am going to remove the Lc7i and have the JL Audio Fix 86 and TwK88 installed. This is a rabbit hole I hope to come to the end of in two weeks. More than willing to share my experiences for anyone that wants help.

Found a thread that had the wire layout for the HK system. It helped me and I tapped into the wiring by HK amplifier.

Would you mind linking to that post? Thanks!

Great post. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
