If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Bad Dealer Dealings - List Your Bad Dealer Experience

I just double checked and I do have all of the paperwork with the vin. I literally have everything as if I bought the car. I suppose I could have talked to corporate, but again then I'm doing legwork to get Irvine paid. That seems so effed up. Why should I have to fight, I should be taken care of at least at this point. I would rather order one from Texas from @StephenCantrelle then continue with this.

@bgn8711, so sorry to hear about your saga! Stupid question...if the loan was signed in Dec have you had to make the first payment yet (or received a statement/payment book etc.)? If you have, this might bolster your case to prove your case. I would definitely file a case with the CA Attorney General.

I did not make a payment. I am just too busy to go after them and that is the sad reality. I have a young child a full time job and a side gig. I feel like I could probably have gone after them legally, as I have a signed contract, but I just don't have it in me. Plus by the time I went that route my car would be long gone and how much money could I honestly get in damages? Plus since I didn't take delivery I don't know how that would work either.

JOE NO! NOT LIKE THIS!

Since you're posting on the bad dealer thread which is about people getting ripped off/hurt/screwed, etc in some way, I think it's only fair for me to ask this here.....

Your website advertises the vehicle at $47,735 as does the window sticker the coincides with it. Why is it $52,735 in your post? Or are you guys tacking on $5k in BS fees which would explain why there are 28 Tellurides sitting on the lot. What are the "other fees" that make up the 11% could you list all of those so people can make an informed decision, I'm guessing since I'm out of state but taxes are prob. around 9 or 9.5%?

Seems pretty shady to list the price as $47,735 on the website and then people schlep it out there / come in and magically it's now $5k more. I know if that was me, I'd be pretty pissed and probably never do business with that dealership ever. My comments aren't posed to be mean, but constructive business advice about honesty to the customers that you are trying to attract. Once the Telluride is no longer the hot thing and Kia's are sitting on lots, management at some of these dealers is going to wonder what happened. It's simple, treat people the way you'd like to be treated. You'll earn lifelong customers. If your goal is just a one and done, then those dealers will get what they deserve down the road.

I think this poster is not the actual dealer, he is just posting a screenshot of the communication he got from the dealer.

Surely hope so...

I separated it out so it's clearer - but absolutely terrible especially with info being readily available over the internet it's actually very offensive to get quoted way off on something. This isn't even what I would consider fair price range. I wanted to see how outrageous they would be with markups but that number is horrendous.

King Kia of Gaithersburg (MD) is charging $5K markup on SXP. Had the sales guy tell me you can't place orders at the dealer because it will back Kia up even further from meeting demand. He said and I quote "dealers will say they can but will not be able to." Just BS all around.

👌👍😉🤣

He said "well other dealers are charging as much as 11K over MSRP" Yeah no thanks, if someone wants it that bad they can have it. I will just wait for the one I ordered and hope it comes by early summer.
It's pretty amazing some of these stores have gobs of them and all because they are marked up. Must enjoy that view of the back 40.

I figure at some point the cost of them sitting on the lot is going to catch up to them. I am all for capitalism and I get the supply/demand consideration, but selfishly I hope those that are hoarding them take a bath in the end.

I bought my EX from Lanham Kia. No markup and actually got under MSRP with negotiations plus free running boards.

I bought my EX from Lanham Kia about a month ago with no markup and actually under MSRP. Also got free running boards thrown in. I know its not an SXP but might consider working with them. I will say though that they opened up by saying there was a 5k markup and they very easily backed off of that claim.

Funny you should mention Lanham. I talked to them today about a Black Copper SXP and they wanted almost 5k markup.

Yeah like I said, might be a different story between EXP and SXP, but I (honestly) told them that Laurel Kia was offering them for MSRP and they were satisfied enough with that to move forward at MSRP.

What was the outcome of this ?

Kia of Norwood, just south of Boston.

Wouldn't let me go for a test drive until "we had reviewed numbers, agreed to terms, and I had put a deposit down". Walked right out of there... if my 5 year old son wasn't with my I would have had some choice words.

What a joke!! And how disrespectful to a consumer! I'm sorry how you were treated. Not all of us operate this way.
