If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Glitter specks in windshield

There are two problems I see with this car, the windshield and its need of an upgraded replacement and the need for protection in front of the radiators, condenser.

So an update.
Took the car to Kia. The service manager came outside to look after I parked the car facing the sun.
He tried to clean it off inside and outside. He tried to feel it with a razor blade. He than said he never say anything like this.
He said he had to notify Kia and than he would order a new windshield. They will probably get back tome in 2 days.
I said to myself, “ it can’t be this easy”.
That was 4 days ago so I called today.
The service manager said he hasn’t heard from Kia yet but should hear by Monday and they will call me.
On my work report, he attached the windshield replacement policy for cracks where Kia is replacing windshields as a service to customers.
When I get their answer either way, I’ll let everyone know and attached the replacement notice even though this is not for speckles but cracks, and is not a recall.
Kia requested I bring the car back in to do a number of items to verify the problem. They performed the tasks outlined by Kia corporate.
The dealership confirmed they see the specks.
Kia corporate or the dealership have not contacted me yet.
I’ll be calling them next week.

I have a 2022 SX Nightfall. I have recently noticed these glitter specks all over my windshield. Has there been anything done about this?

It's normal wear from particles hitting your windshield as you drive.

nope, i think not. It is consistent specks all over the windshield, but you can only see them at a perfect angle. I have noticed it since a minute after I got it. Talked to the dealer about it, they immediately put me off saying it is not a warranty item.

I have had the specks in the windshield since new. Am at 65K now. Can always reproduce the issue - with a clean windshield inside & out adding the correct angle of sunlight. There are flecks/specks in the glass. It's a debatable issue I felt I'd never win. Looks like I was in a sandstorm.

I have the glitter all over my windshield after the first 2 weeks of driving.
I’ll probably take the car to a windshield place first to get there opinion.
I feel it’s definitely something wrong with the windshield.
I was not in a sand storm.

So I went to my local windshield shop Safeliite.
They use a cleaner and a razor blade to try to scrap it off/clean.
No change. He never saw this before. Said probably Kia wouldn’t warranty this since I didn’t see it before I drove the car. Sort of hard to do.
I should have pointed it out to Kia when I had my first oil
change but didn’t.
I’ll most likely take it in to show them to go on record.
It sounds like micro-pitting or a manufacturing defect in the windshield. Try cleaning it thoroughly with a high-quality glass cleaner or using a clay bar to remove any surface contaminants. If the issue persists, visit your Kia dealership, as it may be a defect covered under warranty. Some owners of Kia and Hyundai vehicles with acoustic windshields have reported similar issues.

I have a 2025 Telluride and have the same issue with my windshield. I took it in today to have that looked at. They told me it was microcracks from rocks hitting my windshield. I asked why I don’t have a single chip in the paint on the front of my car if that is the case. He said he would get back to me.
