Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Thats just complete BS. If you look at failcat "custom" interiors like terra cota are flying out the door daily. My guess is they are trying to sell you someone else's vehicle and will try to sell yours at a premium when it finally comes in.
I agree. Looking at Failcat though, I don't see any SX-P X-Line built in the color we want (Gravity Grey...only color the wife wants) so definitely looks like Kia is not building this trim and color. I see 402 SX-P X-Line built in other colors and 346 2023 Tellurides in Gravity Grey so it seems like they are building those setups individually, just not a combo they want to build.

I ordered from Lev around the end of Mar 2022 with the same 500 down and pay MSRP. An exact match just came up on fail cat that I hope is mine. It has been 10 months. Thanks for the info on the doc fee etc.
I have been told $475 for Doc Fee and either $100 for plate transfer or $130 for new plates.

Did Lev call you to confirm details when the order was "picked up" by Kia? During the sales process, that's what I was told would happen.

I could be wrong, but I would have thought that would be the time for them disclose modifications to your order before your refundable deposit becomes non-refundable.

No. I would call him every few months and I would be told the timeframe mentioned in Feb is still true. I got a call in Oct (I think?) that Kia wasn't making 2022s anymore and to talk about the 2023 car. Then, I called again in Nov asking for an update and was told I'm still on track for either Dec or Feb. Then I got a call a couple of days ago that "my car" was here.

I just bought a Telluride last week from Koons Kia in Owings Mills, MD. They were great - dealt with Carey Olivis there and they got to a great price!

So I’m looking into Koons and they told me it’s a $1,000 markup which I think I’m okay with. I did look further into the dealership and found information about their lawsuit. Did you experience any shady fees or are they backing off shady practices after their lawsuit? I’ll have my son in tow and would prefer not to waste my time.

I'm in NJ, but I saw someone ask about dealers in MA that sell at MSRP. I believe Balise Kia in Springfield sells at MSRP. I may actually order from them since the one dealer in NJ who sells at MSRP isn't taking orders at the moment.

Just be careful about purchasing in MA if you don't live there. I believe any vehicle purchased or owned in MA will not get Kia's connected services. So even if you take it back to NJ - you won't be able to use Kia connected services. I live in NY but purchasing from Freedom Kia in WV since they sell at MSRP. If interested - talk to Chris Imler.

Huh, that's interesting. Why is that? I don't plan to keep the annual subscription but I guess I'd like to use it for the free year or whatever is included

There is a whole big issue with right to repair in MA. Kia, along with a couple of other car manufacturers are protesting the law by restricting connected services. NY just passed a similar law on January 1, but it isn't as comprehensive as MA and specifically excludes auto manufacturers. I was watching that one closely!!!

I got my VIN from Lev Kia. Since Failcat is not showing the info via the VIN, is there anyone on here who can get the details please?

VIN: 5XYP5DGC2PG354730

Your dealer could just provide you the window sticker too. My vehicle was just built this morning and my dealer sent me the VIN and window sticker proactively. Still hasn't hit failcat either. In any case - I've attached your window sticker here.

Texas - Parkway Family Kia - $2,000 over
Purchased on: Jan. 21, 2023
Delivery Date: Jan. 25, 2023
Found the spec'd Telly that I had been looking for on their website. It was available, talked to Taylor Roberts on the phone and told him the $3,900 protection package was too much for me. He was determined to earn my business and brought the package price down to $2,000. I did all the paperwork a few days before the car was delivered. I was worried about the interest rate they'd give me through dealer financing, so I had brought my own financing at 4.99%.

To my surprise the finance manager requested an exception from the director and came back with 5.25% which was good enough to earn my business! based on the 6 to 8% interest rates that were "normal" at this time.

The fact that they went out of their way to negotiate to earn my business really won some brownie point with me. So many other dealers would just say the package price is the price, non-negotiable, because people are still willing to just fork over the extra money.

Highly recommend Taylor Roberts at Parkway Family Kia!

It could be me, but there are enough dealers out there at MSRP to work through. $2k over today seems like a bit of a rip-off and I wouldn't ever visit this dealer. The speed of getting the car doesn't seem to justify burning cash.

Yeah I am in the same boat. No disrespect to the OP but there's no way I am purchasing the vehicle, let alone excited that the dealership wants $2k over asking and .25% over a rate I am bringing in myself. To each their own I suppose.

Unfortunately in Texas from all of my searching 2k over is the best I could find to buy immediately. Most were 3k to 6k packages.
MSRP in Texas still requires 6 to 12 month waitlist

They have been posted before but so far my experience with Luther Kia in Bloomington, MN has been solid.

Going to hit almost exactly a year (2/4/22 to 2/3/23 (likely)) between order and delivery but the timeline is not the fault of the dealer.

Vehicle showed up the dealer with transit damage that they are taking are of, results TBD. Will update on how well they take care of it when I pick the vehicle up.

MSRP since it was an order. 1 "required" add on was carpet floor mats, I didn't bother to try to negotiate since I may use them in the summers. $500 refundable deposit. $125 doc fee.

They had no issues with outside financing and were open that they couldn't come close to beating it (2.99%/60 Mo from Tower FCU).

They presented me with different extended warranty and maintenance options but were not pushy on the options at all. I was able to decline with no additional pressure.

TLDR: MSRP order, 1 year order to delivery, carpeted floor mats "required" add on, no financing pressure, $125 doc fee, transit damage being taken care of by the dealer with TBD results.

Spencry: I couldnt private message you for some reason.
I am also looking at Tower - how do their process work? my previous vehicle also financed by a CU outside my state Overnighted (to my house) a cashiers check made payable to the dealer. I took the check and gave to the dealer signed some forms and was out in an hour. Does Tower do the same thing? or did they want to work with the dealer themselves?
Any detail would help - I am looking to finance through Tower for Arapahoe who apparently (I havent been told directly by them) dont take outside financing per forum members here.

Arapahoe does not take outside financing outside of USAA or Navy Fed (confirmed by Seth). Would probably have to try and refinance with Tower.

I will be attempting to refinance with Tower once I get back home to MN. The headache of flying to CO for MSRP and driving home, refinancing is worth the effort over paying 1k over MSRP and losing $500 to Arapahoe for the non refundable deposit. On top of saving ~$1200 dropping from SXP Xline to SX XPro

Otherwise St Paul Fed CU is 3.99 for 60 months which is probably gonna be at least 1pt better than what Arapahoe gets me
