Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

My recommendation is to go to failcat and put in what you want and then see often the dealers get that combination around you. I did this for what I wanted and then realized beyond the BS 3k+options to 10k markup it would take 3+months to see one arrive and that's before even talking with the dealer and asking/trusting how many people are in front of me for that same combination. Geepman for your combo, your dealer only got 1 last November and only 3 in gravity grey SXP in total for 2023 model year. Sure the dealer can "order" one for you but as far as I know there is no real order process just here is what we built and then ooh look a match :D

Definitely smart way to see what your dealer is getting! With that said, there truly is an order process but most cars are the matching. Depending on the dealer and their earnings, is how Kia picks up true orders. Kia only handles true orders once a month and many dealers only get 1 per month, per model. Also - true orders take 8-12 weeks from time of pickup where matching can take only 2-6 weeks. You definitely want to find a dealer that has some volume. Also - dealers can have their allocations changed. Last year when I looked at my local dealer that had an $8k markup - they were getting a few more a month than the dealer I went with in WV. Now that local dealer gets half of what my WV dealer gets. That also shows you that my current dealer is getting great customer reviews compared with my local dealer who isn't.
 
Thanks for the info, it's good to know there is an order system. Nice to see that its based on volume, my local dealers are ranked 140+ based volume on failcat, its not perfect data but it did tell me a good indicator who's moving cars and getting trim/color combinations, it also explains the markup :ROFLMAO:

I was traveling and could not pick up for another week but we did paperwork online and wire transfer so all was ready when I arrived early morning- before the office opened but Georgia came in early to let me in and see/test drive the car. I would totally recommend Georgia and the Arapahoe Dealership. The 2 day road trip back to Reno was beautiful and fun getting to know the great features of the car.
TOTALLY WORTH THE 4 month WAIT!

I did cash sale. I had wire transfer sent ahead of my arrival. That dealer requires KIA financing I think and I didn’t need it. Some people have posted that they used the Kia financing then re-financed thru their choice after. Have to really check all the terms if doing that. Reno dealer only gets a couple Tellurides a month. No info on your spot in their order line. Arapahoe gets in 30-50 a month!!! And you are informed as you move up.

If you put in the dealers code at the top of the page, then only that dealer’s cars will be listed. You can see how many they get per day or week….or month. And the variety they get., I noticed that several cars identical to mine were built in a 2 day time slot. 4 for my dealer and several other dealers had same car come out at that time. So I think they do group colors together and if less are ordered of a color that might take longer, but I think the big dealers will get their orders first.

Thumbs up for International Kia of Orland outside of Chicago. Just picked up an SX X Line at MSRP, no hassle. They seem to get a lot of vehicles so check their website for what’s coming in and place a $1,000 deposit to reserved .

Willowbrook KIA just outside of Chicago did right by me.

You will have to put your negotiating skills to work, but I had one of the best buying experiences to date through a dealership. I despise the car buying and negotiating process so for me to rave about this, especially after talking to mostly all the dealerships in the area since October of 2022, I think speaks volumes.

Friendly staff... the office had everything ready to go (cash buyer). The process was as efficient as you can get.

I'm sure some may not have had the best experience, and I cant speak for everyone, but I promise you I did

They have a few on hand so check either the KIA website or the dealer website to see if they have what you want.

Originally ordered an SX-P X-Line from Fowler Kia in CO.

However yesterday bought from CarPros Kia Glendale in the LA area. Great experience, awesome dealer, and highly recommend working with Alan Chavez and his manager George. Still some markup over MSRP, but only $800, and so its a wash vs. flying to CO and cost of gas/hotels driving back to SoCal.

I think its a sign the winds are changing, as this type of deal was impossible to get in California even a month ago.
Hi Jeremy, I am in the exact same position- about to pull the trigger on an order from Fowler, but I test drove a Telluride SX at Glendale CarPros... Can I ask if they made you use Kia (or their) financing? (I plan on showing up with my own pre approval). Did they try to make you purchase additional accessories or service agreements to get that price? Congrats by the way.

I ended up using Kia financing cause their rate was better than what I could get elsewhere. Still painful at 5.49 for 60 months. Ky credit Union was running 5.99. Hoping rates drop and we can refi

No pressure for extras though I did buy the tire and wheel package for $330 figuring there was no road hazard on the tires

Probably helped that my original sales guy is now the finance manager and knew going in I didn’t want to pay extras

Ended up getting front window tint and nitro tire fill for free

Luther Invergrove Kia - Minnesota

SXP Ordered April 2022 - Switched to SXP X-Line in October, Delivered January 2023 - Paid MSRP with $1,710 in options for free, in & out the door in 60 minutes when picked up. There are several other Kia dealers in MN trying to mark up the sticker with bogus non-optional extras, Luther Invergrove was great to work with.
 
Finally !! My Kia Telluride SX Prestige X line (Wolf Gray with Terracotta) Arrived yesterday.

Overall process was smooth
Ordered the vehicle on 2/6 and received on 3/3

Only thing I didn't like in overall process is finance. I took the credit union approval at 3% but they were not ready to acknowledge. They asked to finance from Kia and mention about 90 days lock period for refinance.

They offered me high rates obviously. Got it at 6.49% for 60 months.

Since the telluride with specific combination is difficult to get so, I agreed.

Thanks for the details. First time seeing someone selling below MSRP with reasonable doc fees. You may want to check if 90days lock is part of your loan agreement—-generally they say it so that they can gets the comission from loan which takes 90 days. I have seen folks refinancing within a month.
A question: Did you using shipping/transport of your own or dealer’s? Can you let me know of the company name. I am also a out of state buyer and will try with this dealer.
 
Thanks. The agreement do not have anything mentioned related with 90 days. So I will also try the same.

I used Montway Auto Transport - recommended by dealer. I found it cheap compared to others.

Anyone have any recommendations for a dealer in Northern VA? I've been in contact with multiple in this area, keep getting egregious markups or added extras. It's starting to seem like MSRP is not possible for this region:mad:
 
Chad at Smithtown Kia on Long Island, NY was a pleasure to deal with on a certified pre-owned purchase. Great service, no nonsense. Highly recommend for those in metro NY area.
 
Had a great experience picking up our car today. We ordered in April 2022 through Rodger Harman at Jim Butler Kia in Chesterfield, MO with a $500 refundable deposit. Although “our order” hadn’t been picked up yet by Kia, we were able to get the exact vehicle we wanted (I think someone else backed out) and waited just under 2 weeks from the time the VIN hit failcat to today when we picked it up. There was no mark up over MSRP and there were no unwanted add ons or pressure for warranties or payment type (financing vs cash). It was a smooth process at the dealership when picking up the vehicle.
 
I got a 23 Tellu, SX-Line in Wolf Gray fron Coral Springs KIA (South Florida were I live). And it was a great, hassle free experience. I was shopping around via email and quotes came with lots of extra $$$ on each part of the deal. At least in FL, MSRP is one thing then OTD (Out the Door ) price is another one, and they can jump left and right with those numbers from MSRP to OTD which is what matters at the end of the day and deal.
Coral Springs KIA responded to my emails promptly and very professionally, we agreed on a price (they accepted my offer via email) and I went to pick up the car. I highly recommend them
