• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just ordered

Honestly, we didn't talk price.

How do you order a vehicle and not discuss price?

This will be my 80th vehicle, I always buy at the same percentage of MSRP, less rebates.

MSRP IS $47330. I texted with my dealer this morning. There are no incentives yet, so my price before is $43,480. 00

...not sure what you mean. Your price before "what" is $43,480? Even at MSRP, the Telluride is a great deal...

The price before any incentives that are available when it comes in. There will be a special rebate for the Founders Club. There may also be lease incentives, which will work with a balloon loan in Texas. Finally, Kia often has the $400.00 military rebate.

I agree the msrp is an excellent value. Yet, someone wanted to know my actual purchase price.

However, why anyone would ever pay more than they had to, is beyond me....

Kia doesn't accept any custom orders. I guess the dealership will be shopping around for vehicles to trade from other dealers. Hopefully that happens quickly.

I'm not sure what you mean by custom orders. However, we (The GM, Cindy, And I) went into the Kia factory order site and did her up exactly as we wanted, within the possible packages. It is being made to order.

I remember people on the Stinger site saying/thinking the same thing.

Kia doesn't "make to order". What they do is allow dealers to pull orders from around the country/ports/etc and trade vehicles they have in the pipeline for ones that match what customers are asking for. Dealers call it "placing orders" or "custom order" or "made to order" to eliminate confusion and/or make future owners feel better about their purchase.

Regardless of what it's called or how it gets accomplished, good on you for getting exactly what you want. I look forward to seeing pics and reading your review. And thankfully it won't be coming all the way from South Korea!

I assure you, that while you are correct regarding the Stinger (which I also have), you are incorrect on the Telluride. We searched everything currently in production or already produced and nothing was ready the way we wanted it. In excess of 98% of SX AWD currently produced or on the line, were in Moss Green (yuck).

We actually ordered two, both “Sold Orders.” The one in Black Copper with Dune Brown Napa and tow package in Cindy’s name, and a second in my name which is in Everlasting Silver with Black Napa with tow. We did this in case Cindy doesn’t like the color of the Dune leather. She hates the brown leather which has an orange hue....

None-the-less, GA is much closer than Korea, so yes, we are thankful!

Interesting...did you have to put down a deposit? I think most dealers ask for 1k don't they? Also, it looks like you saved $3850 off MSRP. Not bad...and if you get other incentives like Founders and Military maybe you'll get closer to 42K before normal fees.

Also, did your dealer have any info on the two package?

Any amount down varies with the dealer. Mine knows me extremely well.

How long do custom orders take? In most cases would you negotiate before placing the order or wait until it arrives? I know your relationship with the dealer is different but what is the standard? I feel like I may have to custom order to get exactly what I want.

Hello. Are you sure the combo you desire is possible? If yes, then you'll have no problem getting it.. Fortunately, they are made in Georgia, so it won't be placed on rail to get to you. That saves time.

If I were you, I would find a sales person who is older. Chances are, they've been selling cars a long time, so they will be ready for you.

How they get it matters a little. On every vehicle there is built in profit for the dealer. It is called "hold back". It is roughly 3% of invoice. What the dealer pays is invoice, but they get to keep the hold back. If they have to do a dealer trade, with another dealer, your dealer might lose the hold back, so they will not sell to you at invoice. So, you will want them to order it, or find a dealer who won't take the hold back. Then, you can buy at invoice, or less.

Good luck.

My dealership has 3 ex and one sx. The ex are $2300-$2500 off sticker and sx is $2950 off sticker. Just gona wait for other incentives to come out now. It would be nice to get the ex Awd for $35k with 0% financing or a good lease deal

Wow surprised they are discounting them already. We looked into the Honda passport and the first 2 weeks they didnt want to at all but sell at msrp.
