• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors

Have written a small computer application that generates valid Telluride VINs and then calls the Kia "windowsticker" URL to retrieve a windows sticker PDF file. From this PDF file I am able to retrieve all of the trim/color information for the Telluride including dealer address, exterior color, interior color, prestige package and towing package.

All of this data is then written to a small SQLite database in which I can query all of the information that I need.

As of 2019/06/17, here is the complete rundown of the trim/color combinations for the Telluride:

The most produced color: Ebony Black (4724)
The most produced trim: S FWD (5354)
FWD vs AWD: 49.5% vs 50.5%

Very informative; thank you for making the time to compile all the information into one condensed and comprehension file.

This is really impressive. Are you planning to update or post this somewhere? Really interesting!

Yes I am planning to update this chart maybe weekly. Since I will be updating this weekly I will be able to know the new VINs window sticker that are produced and be able to generate a new similar chart for only the latest 2000 or 5000 VINs for example. Like this everyone will be able to find out what trim/color combinations are being produced soon (I suppose that a VIN window sticker is produced before a Telluride actually gets produced. Maybe someone can confirm ?).

Note: I will be one vacation for the next 2-3 weeks so I will not be able to update this chart. But I will be able to answers to your posts.

Someone else can chime in but I do know that I got my VIN this week and the status on the vehicle is "at the factory" so I'm assuming that they pull the VIN when they start the build.
Thanks again for coming up with this it was quite creative.

I believe that the VIN comes after the build. We got our VIN on June 10th and took delivery on June 19th.

Was just re-reading the "Order to Delivery Time" thread and it has conflicting info. One poster wrote:

"So our dealer told us we would hear from him 3 times:
1. When our order was accepted
2. When the vehicle was on the train in transit (VIN provided at this time)
3. When the vehicle was at their location "

That matches with our experience. But others are saying that they got a VIN when they first ordered. Kia's production
system is rather complicated it seems. Some people get matched to existing builds while others are assigned on order. Hopefully your VIN will reflect the 'finished and ready to ship' version.

Your experience is the same as mine for what it is worth.

My Timeline:
5/11 ordered a Silver SXP
5/31 Got confirmation and order number 6/4 Received ETA of 7/7
6/21 Received my VIN

I have updated my chart with the butterscotch and dune brown interior colors. I have also updated this chart with the latest US Telluride windows sticker as of 2019/06/18.

The last VIN serial number from this chart is 29786.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the info! Awesome to be 1 of 58 in the world to have the Ebony Black SXP Dune with the Towing package!

Is there stuff outside ‘Merica??
Not with a 1,4, or 5 as the first # in the VIN :)
Comforting to think that a vehicle popular in the US might have some global appeal too so it can be a popular export too. This tax payer thanks you Kia West Point, GA. (And Kia Irvine, CA for designing it).

Wow, awesome info!!!

I found out Saturday that my ordered vehicle had a VIN and the dealer told me that it was "in build". BUT, I ordered a moss green S AWD with towing, and I see 0 of those on the chart. :/

I don't see that you can get a tow package with the S, but I may be wrong. I thought the tow package was only on the EX and SX

uh-oh, really?? I wonder why they let me order it with a hitch then? They did though, it even says so on the build and price sheet they gave me - it says "tow hitch with harness".
this would be a major problem if we didn't get it with the tow package.

I think the tow hitch and tow package are different. In the stats they are referring to self leveling package.
