• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors

The black copper is truly unique....nothing quite like it that I have seen! I would have loved the "dune" color for my interior , but the one coming into my dealer was fully loaded with everything else, so I accepted the black and am VERY happy! Took this photo after I came out of the car wash....you can the color is something different than "normal" black!!View attachment 5575
I do like how they gave the black interior a light grey headliner. Nice contrast and brightens it up. Still torn between Dune, black or grey interior.

Hey.....that's the fun of car buying...being "torn"!:D

How you liking the Dune interior? How does it look with the black (suede looking) headliner?
I love the interior so much that I already put 1000 miles on it in just over a week.I can't stay out of it and it's just a joy to ride in!!

So sorry if this has already been answered. I couldn't find the explanation. On the spreadsheet what do the "F" and "T" stand for?

Good catch. There was some empty data retrieved for some of the VINs during the end of December 2019. For an unknown reason, one day I get empty data for some of the VINs and then the next couple of days I got back some of the data (I think that this problem was on the Kia web site).

I have now fixed this in my Google Sheet.

The last VIN retrieved as of January 3, 2020 is now 5XYP5DHC9LG071072.

Michelw,

How often do you update this list?

He updates it several times per month... see entire history in thread.

Is there any explanation for why the Black Copper/Dune combo is not being produced in big batches like all the other colors? I see large batches of Pearl White, Silvers and Sangria being produced on a given day. Yet the Black Copper seem to be 1 or 2 interspersed with others that day. It seems odd, given so many of us on this forum are waiting for that color combination. I feel like we are due for a 20 or 30 Black Copper car production run sometime soon. Trying to make sense of Kia's production schedule.

It is done by day. But, it is an SX only color... that's why it looks it is interspersed.

@Michelw is the source code available for how you generate the spreadsheet? I was thinking of doing the same thing and saw your very useful sheet. I'd like to throw a site together to make it easily searchable. Are you just iterating through possible vins using https://www.kia.com/us/services/en/windowsticker/load/<vin> and scraping the info for the sheet?

My data scraping application is written in C# and the source code is not available. As for how my application works, it is exactly like you say: I essentially iterate through all possible VINs using the https://www.kia.com/us/services/en/windowsticker/load URL and scrape the PDF info into a SQLite database (note that a VIN window sticker is only available for US bound Tellurides and not for Canada or Middle East models. I am from Canada and if someone can find an equivalent window sticker URL for Canada this will be really appreciated). After, I generate an Excel document with the data and then import it into a Google Sheet which I make available to everyone.

You rock by the way.

Thanks! I'm in the US so it works for me. I looked for possible vin api's to use but nothing came back with any kind of rate I could use without paying an arm and a leg. I figured I'd just write it in python although most of my career has been in C#.

@foresterh I was curious about doing the same thing but I've never used an API before. Would this work?

In my application, when generating all combinations of VINs for the Telluride, I don't use the NHTSA API. Instead I use the information provided from the following document:

https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/mid/home/displayfile/7f5e483c-54f6-4733-8b08-5c154c3f15e9

Of course you need to write some code to calculate the VIN check digit. Here is the logic on how to calculate the check-digit: Vehicle identification number - Wikipedia
