• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... November update available for download

Did you try a different cable - could be a flaky cable.
I did. Tried hardwired with 3 different cables and WiFi with 2 different WiFi adapters (carlinkit and vrriis). I also tried my wife’s iPhone. All have the same issue. So I’m confident it’s the car itself.

I no longer have CarPlay after the update… maybe that is why they pulled it. Reinstalled the software with no luck. Tried two usb cables no luck. Forgot the car in my phone settings - no luck.

Did not call for support yet, but not thrilled with this.
You should have read my post from Monday… would have saved you a bunch of time. 😉
One thing to watch out for... the update deselected both "Enable Android Auto" and "Enable Apple CarPlay" in their respective settings. So if you are trying to plug in your phone to use either of those (or using a wireless adapter), you might want to make sure the settings are re-enabled before you waste time wondering why your device won't connect.

For those having issues downloading the update... It was posted on the hyundai palisade forum that engineering had halted the download of the update. There could be some bugs in this update. Although it appears you can still download for the '22 Telluride (you would think it would be the same update as the hardware appears to be the same) I had downloaded it to my USB stick Monday, but I have not updated yet. I will wait in case there are bugs. Also the download is blocked for my wife's '21 Hyundai SanteFe.
Also many do not like the interface. But the same interface is used between Hyundai's brands (Kia, Hyundai & Gensis), albeit different color schemes. IMO I just don't see going back to the old 3 widget scheme.

2022 SXP: The only update "issue" I have experienced is it set the units to km/h vs mph. I initially downloaded update to my laptop and then transferred it to my flash drive. Did not work no matter where I put it on the flash drive or which was the directory. So, ended up dowloading directly to the flash drive. It formats the flash drive so make sure you have any data of value moved to your hard drive.

The correct thing to do is to download it directly to the USB drive.

If for some reason you don’t download it directly to the drive, you need to transfer the update files to the top level of the USB drive. They cannot be in a folder on the drive.

Did you figure out how to change the units back to miles? This same thing happened back in April to many. It’s in the navigation settings.

After I saw the “enable it again” comment I remembered that post! 😂

Correct. That's why I ended up downloading direct to the flash drive. When I copied the update files directly to the root level of the flash drive it still did not recognize them. In any event, downloading direct to the flash drive works and keeps it simple.

Yes, I was able to change it back to MPH. It's in the Nav menu which is not where I would have put it as a software developer. If memory serves it was Setup > Nav > Display > Information > Units

Can anyone in this thread with the most up to date firmware/update and the Ambient Lighting feature (NOT mood lighting) confirm if KIA has fixed the error message folks were getting when trying to unselect [ambient] lighting "auto-dimming while driving" feature?

See thread here:

One thing that I’ve noticed. When you’re playing music or something via CarPlay, when you turn off the car and open the door, it fades out the music instead of stopping abruptly.

I also noticed a new menu for maintence in the display - at least I do not think it was there before.IMG_2658.webp

I'm confused by this. Does it suggest over 12k miles between oil changes?
Somehow my 22,500 mile service was marked completed at only 17759 miles. a note is UVO says "marked completed from vehicle."

I think in general it would align to the manual, mine is just messed up to due to getting marked done earlier than it should have been.

I do my own maintenance, so not sure what happened.

I am 95% sure I can unmark this as complete and correct it when I hit the right mileage to get things back on track.

Cool. Makes sense. I was only curious and wondering if there was a bug in the new screen :)

Other than allowing you to have an always black map mode, this is probably the most noticeable change with the update – they moved around most of the items on the home screen and removed the driver profile selector from this home screen as well.

Also, because I know there will be questions... NO, this update does NOT bring full-screen Android Auto capability. Yet another update without enabling it (this is the fifth one now since Google enabled it)... it's not going to happen, people.
Based on this image and my 22, beside switching the location of temp and time, looks like they added DATE above the time, and CITY next to the temp.

The date was already there in the April update (yours must have shipped with an older version).

They did indeed add the words of your current city to go along with the weather info.

When updating to the Nav, does the engine have to be running?

edit: instructions say yes.

When updating to the Nav, does the engine have to be running? I plan to just turn on the Acc and let it update but I’m worried the car might shut off to save the battery.
That is the safest bet if you don’t want the car to turn off mid install. In the past some have been able to get away with using a battery charger during the install and the car stays on through the entire update, 45+ minutes. With the April 2021 update, the car still shut off even with my charger plugged in. It was finally able complete the install my second attempt keeping the car “awake” by moving the volume knob every 15-20 minutes.

Thx, just read the instruction again and yes, has to be running.

That’s odd, I had an option to let it install after turning the Telly off. Not even acc on. Install didn’t work for me with car running (tried twice) but worked with this option.
