If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Congrats!

Yet another example of the lower volume dealer getting a similar car quicker than the super high volume dealer.

Hi SprengBoard, congrats on your new Telluride!! I too have booked at Huffines Corinth, on 9/22/2021, but am yet to get the KFOS confirmation (I am told it may happen early January). Where did you get your Telluride tinted?

Tritek Tinting in Garland. Not the cheapest, but they have a great reputation and have been around for a long time.

@sprengBoard I ordered from Huffines on 8/20/2021 and still have not had any updates on my SX Wolf Gray Nightfall. I saw a VIN hit Failcat on 12/21/2021 with the exact specs, but the rep said she still has no ETA or anything for my vehicle. Bit odd I have not received a single update since the order has been placed. Hope to get some sort of an update soon from them, about to hit 5 months, and was promised an update 12 weeks in.

I like your tint choice! Dark, but not too dark.

I think I’ll mimic this when mine arrives. I’m thinking about tinting the front windshield but will do a high percentage like 70%. Ceramic is definitely more expensive but I know it keeps the car cooler and protects the interior better.

Ceramic is definitely worth the cost. I paid a little over $600 after tax (normally $649+ tax but had 10% off coupon).

25% VLT is the darkest legal on front side windows here in Texas. I forget what percentage the front windows are from the factory, but with 35% tint installed they’re around 26% or so.

The rear windows measured 28%, so with 70% tint they wind up a close match to the fronts (a little darker but not by much - see photo below).

I chose 55% on the sunroofs so as to not make them too dark to see stars and such at night. They wound up being darker than the side windows but I think it looks good.

I’m still on the fence about tinting the windshield. I like the idea of heat rejection, but am unsure that I want tint. Plus, our registration and toll passes are stickers that go on the windshield.

Hey NickAlli..I just checked with Huffines, Corinth and they are apparently picking up August orders this month..so, hopefully, you will get some positive updates in 3 weeks.

Thanks for that information!

What volume is considered a low or high volume dealer?
It’s all relative. I’d say any dealer that gets 20+ Tellurides per month is high(er) volume.

Looks great. I have tint on my windshield and use sticker shield so that your toll tags and registration stickers become easily removable from the windshield because they stick by static. Look it up on amazon. I have it on my Tesla and I'm about to do it on my Telly when I get it tinted. The windshield is too big of a source of heat NOT to tint it. They'll probably use crystalline instead of Ceramic IR because it's more transparent and won't darken the front but provides heat rejection.

@sprengBoard, just spent the past hour reading this thread from beginning to end. Call it my novel reading for the night. I felt your highs and lows with the decisions, delays, and unknowns. Thank you for sharing your experience, the consistent updates, and photos.

We ordered our Telly last month, after more than a year of holding out. The Jeep finally broke down on us and, unfortunately, need to pay $60k for our WG SX PN and all the bells and whistles.

Our salesman isn’t exactly helpful but there’s not much else that can be done between the two Aloha Kia dealerships on island. At the end of the day, we chose one dealership over the other because one offered a slightly less “this is what we’re charging and if you don’t want to deal, it’s ok, the next family will buy it” attitude. Painful. Thanks to this thread though, Failcat might help but not sure how/when to know when our order is picked up by PFOS.

In love with the tint on your Telly. Looking forward to tinting ours when it finally arrives.

Curious to know how you like the Telly after a few months and hoping it doesn’t have the same fate as your Explorer and Pilot.

Well, I am no longer a Telluride owner. In the 5 months that I waited for my Telluride to arrive, it became more and more apparent that our house is in need of costly renovations. Therefore, I've downsized to a 2022 Kia Forte GT. I'll definitely miss my Telluride that I waited so long for and obsessed over, but our house takes priority.

My wife is interested in a Telluride for herself in the future, so you can't get rid of me that easily!

Oh no! Sorry to hear this. Though decision well not so seeing a house does come first before a car. I bet it was hard to let it go. Did you end up getting more than what you paid?

Just sold my 2021 that was involved in accident. I paid $55k after taxes and accessories. It sold for $49,995 w/ Aftermarket wheels(stock wheels not included). Got only $2k from insurance company for depreciation payout. So loss of $3k :/ which is not bad for accidental car.

My 2022 eta is 4/12

I did make some decent coin. Paid $52.3k after taxes and fees; Carvana gave me $56.6k for it.

Sorry to to hear - house and family takes priority.

I guess me purchasing the new Telluride Autostop Eliminator this past week was a good call on my part as I don't expect that you will continue to work on your solution.

At this point in time, yes, it was a good call. The ISG function on mine is working great, but I did not have a chance to sort out the Auto Hold function. I can finish the system fully if someone is willing and able to do some testing on the Auto Hold with a multimeter for me. I'd gladly pay for the service.
