Order to delivery time

This is what we ordered. I have not heard a peep. I would love to have the Black Cooper and Dune sooner than what I imagine is still months out. We ordered at the beginning of December.

I would make sure that your dealer is one who sells enough product as to be able to receive more than just a couple of Telluride's a month.

How do we do that? Mine is Beyer Kia in Northern Virginia. I'm pretty sure they are high volume.

There is a thread going somewhere here (can't remember where) that shows all the higher volume dealers. There is a spreadsheet in the forum that shows all of that. You may want to try to use the search function to ask about "high volume dealers" and see what that brings up.

My dealer is pretty good which is why I decided to use the Kia of Muncie.

Ordered Moss green/butterscotch SX FWD Dec 23; picked it up Tuesday!

Impressive. I guess there are advantages to not getting the prestige package. What dealer did you order with? Are they a high volume dealer?

Just curious, what seems to be the norm on when you get your ETA after the VIN is made and then the more final delivery date (once they figure out what truck they are going to put the vehicle on.)? Trying to set up an appointment with the clear bra folks and don't want to do that until after I know when the finalized delivery date is going to be... Hope this is understandable.

Looking for advice.....I have 2 dealers that I am considering that both will order at MSRP. On this Telly Stats sheet, one has 16 and the other has 8. So, neither is super high-volume. I would 3rd in line at the dealer with 16 on that sheet and 2nd in line with the dealer at 8. Thoughts?

My other option is to be 12th in line at a dealer with 25....which does not sound like a good idea. :)

Neither of those are good options... but it is usually minimal cost to order. Those small volume dealers should take the order for free... make sure those tiny dealerships are actually getting the trim you want. Some dealerships don't get SX Prestige for example. They don't sell enough. Honestly, best to search out your desired trim with the tools and call those dealerships that have one inbound.

Yeah, that is actually exactly what I was doing and how I found this one dealer. The incoming SX-P I called about was already spoken for. That seems to be the common message around me. If I want an SX-P at MSRP, the only way to get it is to order it. Most dealers around me are adding markups for everything else which I am not interested in paying.

Sounds like you're on the right track then. As long as the dealer is getting Prestige, you should be ok. Just may take six months.

I'm pretty sure the question to ask is how my SX cars they are getting each month as I believe the Presitge package no longer influences orders. Allocation is based on trims not option packages.

I think that as long as those dealers are getting a few allocations every month then either would work because your order would be filled in the next months allocations. That's better than going with a dealer like Muncie who may get 5-10 allocations a month on a good month but has 50+ orders ahead of you. You would have to wait 5 months for your allocation to come up even though they are a higher volume dealer.

I looked at some of the high volume guys and they are charging monster markups in CA so the best bet was to go with a middle of the road dealer who had a shorter list but was getting 3-4 a month and would work with me at MSRP and I save shipping costs. I think if you are in the top 50% of volume dealers and you are top 10 in line then you will make out okay.

UNCLE.

6+months of waiting with at least 4 more on the horizon...I’m done.

Bought a different new car today that I love, and if my unicorn ever shows up Kia can sell it to some other sucker.

What a waste of time and energy.

So sorry. What a disappointment. Who did you order through? No update??

On a happier note, what new card did you get? Always exciting to experience that new car smell! Congrats.

Talked with my dealer today, my March 4th delivery has been moved up to March 12th. He said to not hold that fast though, said that he had two Tellurides show up yesterday that weren't supposed to be here until March 6th, so here is to hoping.
