Order to delivery time

Popped up on FC 4/16.....dealer called 4/23 and said it would be ready for pickup that day.....I've been busy and hope to get there this week for delivery. Wolf Grey Nightfall....

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.

I placed my order in Nov '19. I was told it would take 7-8 months for it to be built (in Georga). Go figure. Then the pandemic hit and I heard nothing for a long while. I stopped in at the dealership in late April to find out the status. They told me the build sheet was still active and they showed it to me. Everything was as I ordered except they had the wrong interior color. They gave me a choice of accepting the vehical with the wrong color interior or they could start from scratch and build it to my specs. If I chose the later option, it would be a 2021 model but they would sell it to me at 2020 price. I finally received my Telluride SX Premier in Sept of 2020.

Ordered an SX AWD - no nightfall and no prestige in early March. No ETA at this time. Thinking of changing colors and adding nightfall and prestige now after seeing all the awesome pictures on here. Dealer is telling me that I need to completely reorder and lose my place in line. This seems fishy to me since the order hasn't been picked up. This is a dealer that first tried to do a markup and ultimately agreed to MSRP. I'm guessing they want to try the markup game again, but they haven't said so yet. Downside is that the deposit was nonrefundable so I feel like we are stuck. Any tips on how to negotiate this to keep my place in line (without a markup)?

Looking at SX AWD everlasting silver with nightfall or gravity grey with nightfall. Dune interior. We ordered a sangria SX AWD with grey.

Color selection is the hardest part, especially when there are no cars on the lot to compare.

Just got an update... still no VIN but ETA was moved out 4 days later to May 30th. I have been watching failcat daily for weeks. Was really hoping today would be the day. Guess not.

I don't think it's that simple. Mine showed up on Failcat 5 days after I placed my order. There are a lot of factors including luck that will impact this timeline.

must be luck I ordered back in November and was just notified last week of the 1st ETA ( June 7th) for an SX AWD Pre Everlasting Silver I think the VIN shows up in Failcat after the car is produced, but before shipping

Nope. For some people it's just days or weeks, for me it's been nearly 2 months since order was accepted and it's still not showing in Failcat.

I have an ETA of 06/07/2021 ( SX Pre AWD) having ordered 11/25/2020. I expect ( hope) to see my VIN in Failcat sometime in the next 2 weeks

Ordered my 2021 last August. Was told March/April but got it Christmas Eve. I know that the foam shortages etc. and impacting manufacturers.

Sounds like you went with a bad dealer. Im getting msrp & 100 refundable deposit. Took a lot of searching to find that deal though. If a dealer seems shady, best to stay away.

With the huge mark ups and long waits, you could buy the car and immediately sell it for more than you paid for it. Maybe that is your out?
