I followed this forum and went to www.failcat.com and searched for my dealership (or Virginia my state), and looked for the exact vehicle I ordered until I found a match, copied the VIN number and submitted it to @StephenCantrelle with my initials and he (since he has a dealership) looks it up further on failcat.com and he gives you the ETA from the factory back to your dealership. Sometimes your dealership has no idea that we’ve found a way to more thoroughly track our brand new vehicle. Without this forum, I doubt any of us would have any idea as to the ordering and processing of our vehicles without someone here in the know. Your Salesman usually doesn’t have this information but your General Sales Manager at your dealership is in charge of ordering and he can give you an idea as well.Sorry, I am new to this. When people posted that they received VIN number on such a such date, is that what the dealer send out? Kia send out etc?
Go to the thread Track My Vehicle and ask @StephenCantrelle (really nicely) to run the VIN you believe is yours with the initials of your name and he can provide you with an ETA from Kia and a confirmation that it’s yours. Welcome to the Hurry up and wait game we all chose to play.My dealer, not my salesman, not sure who, sent me an eta (7/22) on June 8th and said will update me with a vin. I checked failcat and saw the exact car and options 2 days later but I haven’t heard anything yet. I figure i’ll ask when 7/22 getting closer.
I want to wait when i gets closer so the eta is more accurate so I can plan the DMV stuff since I am buying out of state. Are the ETAs from Stephen spot on or could still change?Go to the thread Track My Vehicle and ask @StephenCantrelle (really nicely) to run the VIN you believe is yours with the initials of your name and he can provide you with an ETA from Kia and a confirmation that it’s yours. They could still change due to transportation from and to your dealership. I was told by my dealership that my order had been accepted by the factory and my ETA was 6/23. When I saw a VIN number accepted by my dealership that matched my order on failcat I asked Stephen what my ETA was and he said it was 6/26. I haven’t contacted my dealership since they called me on 6/7 to tell me that my ETA was 6/23 since the dealership usually doesn’t give you a VIN number in the first place. I only learned that trick by being on this forum.I want to wait when i gets closer so the eta is more accurate so I can plan the DMV stuff since I am buying out of state. Your dealer should be able to tell what your place is in the waiting line. I contacted my dealer once a month and he let me know how we were progressing. He contacted me a couple weeks ago and let me know that our order has been submitted. He promised to send me the VIN when he had it. (I'm also watching KFOS).I've been following this thread for a couple months (about two weeks after we ordered) and my dealership has updated me only once saying "No updates except it will be a 2022". We ordered back on April 6th and I have only called in twice to get info and yesterday the guy told me they were delivering orders from October and to expect a 6-8 month total time to delivery.
I've watched the failcat, however I don't expect to find our vehicle there until they call to confirm the order before it's picked up by the plant in GA.
Is anyone paying a markup on MSRP?

I ordered my SX-P with Nightfall and tow on 4/26 and yes with a $2000 mark up for FMV which was thoroughly explained to me before I even ordered it and was told it would be a 12 to 16 week wait which was good since other dealerships here in Richmond, VA said 6 month wait and had higher mark ups than the $2000 I paid. I then received a call from my dealership on June 7th and was told that the factory had accepted my order, it’s a 2022 not a 2021 and my ETA is June 23rd. Less than 2 months? Orders that were left over or not filled were either sent back to the dealerships or upgraded and resubmitted as 2022’s. Especially the SX Nightfall Edition with tow because nothing had changed with those from 2021 to 2022. Other models were kicked back to dealerships so they could call the customers and see if they still wanted it, any amendments to the orders and then they were resubmitted to the factory or the line for the factory to accept again. Dealerships can order “x” number of Tellurides a month. So if your dealership can order 3 per month and there are 9 ahead of you it’ll take 4 months before the dealership can submit your order to the factory. If a dealership can order 9 per month then you may get it ordered that month or definitely the next. Dealerships like to blame the factory but you’ll learn here that the ordering process is based solely on how many Tellurides a particular Dealership “can” order for that month and dealers vary as to how many they’re allowed to order. Hope this helps you.I've been following this thread for a couple months (about two weeks after we ordered) and my dealership has updated me only once saying "No updates except it will be a 2022". Nice! Really prefer the old logo and chrome grill on the moss color vs new logo and black grill on the 2022. This is what I wanted but switched my order to the glacial white after seeing the new logo and black grill.Just picked up our 2021 Dark Moss SX w/ butterscotch interior today from Nutley KIA in NJ.
Placed our order on Feb. 2nd and were given a 4-6 month ETA. Got a call from our sales person on May 4th that it had shipped with an ETA of June 6th (also confirmed by the amazing @StephenCantrelle via the Track My Vehicle thread). Car arrived few days early on June 3rd, but unfortunately upon their initial inspection of the vehicle they discovered some damage to the driver's side tail light. Luckily nothing on the paint, just a large scratch on the housing of the light itself. Got a little nervous how long it might take to replace it given the everything going on with production of these vehicles. After waiting on some authorizations on KIA's end to do the repairs, a new light was ordered on June 10th, and the car was ready for us on June 16th. Had the day off today so figured what's another two days lol.
Can't thank all the contributors on these forums enough for the info and guidance. I actually was part of a crew that shot one of the first Telluride commercials down in Atlanta when it came out, and I knew the moment I saw it on set, I had to have it. Just needed our lease on our 2018 Grand Cherokee to run out, and a little patience. Couldn't be happier.
Better pics to come, but for now I'm enjoying the ride with a grin from ear to ear.
Loved my Grand Cherokee, but now I can't wait to get rid of it and move into my new Telly ASAP. Watching failcat every morning, first thing!Just picked up our 2021 Dark Moss SX w/ butterscotch interior today from Nutley KIA in NJ.

Same exact boat (except I ordered in November), got a similar ETA from the dealer this week.Order placed 3/9. Finally accepted in KFOS today, with an initial ETA of 9/29. Does 3 months seem normal? I thought the build process was typically 6-8 weeks
10 months? Goodness, I hope not.I wonder if anyone has tired of waiting and moved on to a different vehicle? Some of these order to arrival is 10 months. That’s a really long time to me.
