Thanks for the information! I’m not an expert on these by any means, but I have picked up that KFOS The Kia ordering system where your dealership will enter your order, and Failcat is the system that your VIN Well appearing once it is created.

@techturtle I can also share that I ordered right after you on July 10. A few weeks ago the dealership said that I was 14th in line and my order would get picked up in KFOS in the August Window which opens for about 10 days mid month…so any day now, then I expect to receive the first ETA which I am expecting to be in November.

Question for the Tellurati.

Failcat shows roughly 8 cars each week headed to the dealer that placed my order with. The sales manager there tells me that things are on track for a 15 September delivery of my Telluride however, it hasn't shown up on failcat yet. Now that we're inside of the 30-day window, I'm wondering if this means that my order is going to slip. Not really a big deal, particularly since I only placed the order at the beginning of June, but would prefer to reset my expectations to more closely match expected reality.

Just looking at the Telly stats and it looks like the color I picked is once a week whereas all the other colors show production everyday. I'm not even in the Failcat system yet. It's only been a month since I ordered. I know others have been waiting much longer.

I have a new update! My sales person just informed me that my order was picked up in KFOS on August 12. He should have the first ETA in about a week.

Im in Vancouver Canada and ordered a month ago and was told last week it’s on Rail to the dealership! I want to know how long it can take on rail cause I really want my new vehicle!

At the Arapahoe Kia, what were the terms of reserving your spot? A refundable down payment?
I reserved with MedVed Kia in WheatRidge May 22nd and have not gotten a VIN in Failcat or TellyStats. I have tried to reach out to the dealership to know my place in line on the waitlist or if accepted into KFOS yet but have had zero communication from them. Have left 2 voicemails and emailed both the salesperson I worked with and the manager.
Thinking of just switching to Arapahoe Kia since it seems based on this group they are more communicative.

@AGriff Arapahoe Kia took my order by phone with only a $100 deposit! They have been responsive to my never ending questions and have kept me updated all along the way. Jake Taylor has been so awesome to work with and he always responds in less than 24 hours… usually within two hours (attaching his business card).

Plus, my Subaru Outback 2018 Li lease is expiring in December. I am getting closed to $29-$30K offers from online dealers like Shift and Carvana. However, they will not buy leased vehicle if lease is expiring within 2 months. My Payoff is $22K and dealer Payoff is ~$23K to buy this car from Subaru finance. So i thought, why not make $6-$7K in profits by selling my outback in September rather then returning it at end of the lease and paying $1.5-$2K for tires and some other stuff to Subaru finance.

My lease is up now. I have GMC Acadia. I have been trying to buy the lease since the end of July and cannot seem to get anywhere. GM had me call the dealer, the dealer made me call GM. I've had the payoff $ since the day my paperwork was signed in '18 (buyout is on the lease papers). For me it has to be a GM dealer before I can do anything else. Offers are about $5-6k profit. I wanted my Telly eta before I sold my car though.
One dealership (Quakertown Kia in PA) tried to tell me my lease payoff was $3k more than it is -trying to rip me off (I called GM & asked if dealer pays more for payoff and they told me no)- salesman also tried to charge me over msrp by $10k!
I ordered mine from Abeloff Kia in Stroudsburg PA.

I’m on week 5 and no post on failcat. Dealership says it’s still on time but have no vin. I’m worried it’s gonna be another month.

4-6 weeks in once the VIN is posted in Failcat (if it ever is). It could be months after the order is placed before it's picked up by Kia and into KFOS, then another few weeks before the VIN shows up in Failcat.

Ah, gotcha. Failcat, while certainly a great tool, isn't perfect. It has been known to miss VINs.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 9/4 ETA but do not have a VIN yet (confirmed by dealer last week and not on failcat yet). There's not much we can do except wait. My dealer is only one state over from the factory plant, so I am hoping they can still meet the ETA but I question that.

Your Dealer has nothing to do with this. Looks like GM Finance is running circles around you. You owe money to GM finance and not the dealer.

GM Finance is looking towards poaching your Acadia back so that they can sell it on higher price. You can buy it anytime before your lease ends as per your agreement. Talk tough with GM finance.
