Order to delivery time

Really helps to know how long the line is to determine how long you'll be waiting. It could be you'll get picked up in October KFOS, and get delivery by December...but again, some folks are waiting 9 months to a year, others get it in 2-3 months. Depends 100% on the dealer you order from and their queue.

Yeah that all makes sense, the 5-6 month range was an estimate with a caveat of "usually faster". Obv stuff happens. And this was before production delays but my rep said it really wasn't affecting dates. Hoping it gets picked up in October and I get it before the snow really flies... Not looking forward to another year of driving my Focus in MN winters.

I asked how many folks in front of me for SX's, and how many they get per month but my salesperson didn't have that info.

Ordered last week of July, 2022 SX-Prestige, emailed sales rep a few days ago checking in on my status and said they have nothing new to report. Estimation on order was the 5-6 month range. I figured I'd at least have an estimated arrival date/notification that my vehicle has been picked up at this point but maybe just wishful thinking?

Dealership is high volume, according to counts in failcat it's the second highest volume dealer in my state. And the top 2 are almost identical for total cars in the count.

Anyone else run into a delay of nearly 3 months before receiving any sort of comms from your dealership? Seems like a lot of folks on this forum get their VINs and initial ETAs within a couple months. Not upset or anything, just curious/passing the time/looking for commiseration, ha. I don't think I'm going to hit the estimated delivery window at this point, though.

Basically I got zero information all along the process, until they could confirm factory ETA. I could tell dealer was getting frustrated with my checking in, even though I only did it a couple of times (4 week. point and around 11 week point). If your dealer holds to this form, I would expect nothing until you are about at the five month point. To be fair to dealer, at a larger volume dealer, they may have 150 orders or more in their backlog. So thats a lot of people to keep informed, and they really don't have good information to share until the factory lets them know something.

I waited since July 5 for order to be accepted on Sept 16. I still don't have a VIN yet, nothing in failcat. I can see at my dealer they have one coming exactly my build but in white. Last night I was told my ETA is Jan 1. If that actually is my delivery date then I'll have waited 6 mo from deposit/order to delivery.

Those guys quoted me $13,000 over MSRP on something they had on the lot!

Update on my experience ordering an EX from Kings Kia in Cincinnati. Ordered Aug 11th, picked up in KFOS in Sept and was initially told 12/22 delivery but that just got bumped up to 11/3. (Yay!) Dealer has been great to work with.

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.

I found a website- Failcat that shows when the vin is assigned, you can sort by your dealer and the colors and options of your vehicle. It updates daily.

I checked in a couple weeks ago and now they’re saying 6 months and they also wouldn’t give me a # for my spot in line saying that it doesn’t tell me anything about when my specific order will go through. Maybe they said that because of the varying trim allocation or maybe they just don’t want people being turned off by the waitlist? Not sure. But at this point I’m trying to not get my hopes up of getting my Telluride before the year is over.

This is where I'm at. Submitted an order earlier this month that wasn't picked up. Was told I was approximately fifth in line at the dealer, but that it really depends on what orders Kia picks up. I'm hoping for November, but decided getting all excited for nothing probably wasn't the best use of my time.

I ordered from them the same day and they told me 16-30 weeks. Got my eta of 11/7 yesterday.
