Order to delivery time

yep. I ordered July 5 I don't have a vin yet and estimated eta of Jan. My dealership told me about 4 months. It feels like it's been longer as I had to borrow a car until it comes in. I should have taken advice from my salesman back in April & ordered then. Good luck!
If it was picked up you should have a date from Kia. It could certainly change but there should be a date.

Trying to find the source, so don't quote me, but I read last night that Hyundai was trying to make their own chips? Can anyone else confirm? This would obviously take a lot of time to plan and execute.

hmmm. They told me early Jan. and it didn't show up in failcat, that I saw, although I know they shut down all last week right after I heard.

I went to look at Kia dealers Telluride stock through the Kia build page and found that Kia has now redirected the Telluride build page to the Carnival. Any implication s when you are waiting for an order to be accepted by Kia?

4 months total wait, see details in the signature below.

The dealership had two Tellurides delivered over the weekend at the same time, my S model and a SX model. The S was ordered in June , the SX was ordered in January.

That’s funny .. they should stop quoting 2-3 months. My salesperson from when I originally ordered in April emailed me last week. Saying she should have the invoice soon. I told her I ordered from another dealership and should it delivered in a few weeks. Super happy you were able to get yours in 4 months.

Thank you, it was faster I guess because it was a monthly dealer allocation. They had one S allocated to them, from the factory, that month so we took that one and still was able to chose the color and exact options that we wanted just like a special order.
The wait was worth it, and now that we have 100 miles on the car I can tell you this car is outstanding!
I hope you get yours soon to enjoy the fall colors and some cider at the local wineries 🍷.

Mine will be here next month. It’s showing now in transit to the dealer. I ended up reordering through a different dealer in PA. They have been outstanding.

dealership got 12 tellurides at once. Volume of dealership seams to be most important factor? think they avg 23 a month but august got 31 orders in kfos

Late November ETA for an EX moved to mid December. This better be a damn good vehicle!

Last night I got an email from my local dealer, titled “A Surprise Shipment of Unreserved 2022 Tellurides Has Arrived.” It says they have over 30 in stock. FWIW, they advertise themselves as being the highest-volume Kia dealer from Maine to Maryland.

The dealer code is NY120, if you want to look them up in failcat. Last I knew, their markup is 10% on anything on the lot.

I think so. A volume dealer usually has more orders in queue but they get more car.

Yeah got the same email. Destination Kia in Albany.

There is a reason they have 34 in stock, the Big markup.
This dealer actually seems to do a fair amount of volume … according to failcat, there have been 109 Tellurides invoiced to them since the beginning of August. That more or less tracks with what one of their sales guys told me — he said that they had about 40 Tellurides delivered at the end of August. From what I can see, they’ve been getting large deliveries and — markup notwithstanding— selling pretty much everything they get.

FWIW, the other dealer in this area is at something like $7500 over MSRP. 10% markup is probably about average — according to TrueCar, buyers around here pay an average of 9.3% over MSRP. No idea if TrueCar is accurate or not but it’s plausible based on the couple of sales that I know about.

Can I look up KFOS? I know about failcat... I'm new to all of this.. thanks!

I read something about a Ford dealership making up orders from fictitious people so they could get allocations. Ford wasn't too happy. Wonder if something along those lines is going on
