Order to delivery time

My salesperson contacted me on Thursday to let me know that the EX-P AWD I ordered in early July just arrived at the dealership. This was a bit of a surprise as the expected date was 9/15 and though I have been regularly checking failcat, did not see the car listed. Once I got the VIN, I took another look and found out that it actually hit failcat on 7/29 and that I missed it because it did not match my spec exactly (the interior is a different color than ordered.) That's not too big a deal, but I'm hoping that because of the error, the dealer may be willing to throw a small bone my way.

Will post some pics once she's in the driveway.

Arrived at dealer this morning. YAY! Only 3 days off original ETA. They got a bunch of cars today though so I might not be able to pick it up until Monday at the latest. Pic coming soon!

That's insane.. I ordered in July and my ETA is 11/04. I'm already losing my mind. I would definitely bunch the computer screen if I were you. 😬😬🤣

It's a big bummer. I feel like when I call they have no real answer. I don't want to call in and bug the dealership because I don't want to be thrown down the list for being annoying or something LOL. We aren't necessarily in a RUSH to get it, but we just crossed 5months plus a week with no ETA, no VIN and it certainly hasn't shown on the failcat. We put $500.00 down too.

That dealer has been allocated about 12 tellurides every month. So that would mean there was more than 60 people in line ahead of you. Highly unlikely at such a low volume dealer. I would be asking to speak to a manager or going somewhere else. Plenty of dealers that get them in 4 months time.

Last month they said they were filling orders from december/january. So if that holds true they would be on February 21 now...? so two more months til we get into production I suppose. They also have no markup, and as I mentioned we aren't in a huge rush, and at this point goin somewhere else would put us at about the same time (End of Year)

Apologies if this has been asked 1000 times before, I just don't know how to search or parse through the 455 pages.

After putting down your deposit, what happens next? Were you given paperwork with an ETA or just a receipt for your deposit? I also didn't realize that different dealers were given different allocations. Is there a way to search for what your dealer gets allocated? Or just have to ask and hope they're honest? We were told it could be anywhere from 3-8 months. TIA

For me, it was just a reciept and was told 8 to 12 weeks. Next thing that happens is Kia picks up order. That can take a while depending on your dealer and how many orders they are allotted. Orders are only picked up every once in a while so that can be a wait. However, you will most likely be notified after the order is picked up and will be given an estimated ETA at that point.
