Order to delivery time

Ordered an S in Everlasting Silver with AWD and tow hitch on 1/17/22 at MSRP and was told 4 to 6 months wait. I was also told I may get a 23 instead of a 22 and that the price has increased by 300 each year and they have no reason to believe it will be much more. My dealer is in Northern Indiana. They told me yesterday that I am #11 in line, but didn't answer my question about how many vehicles they usually get a month. Next communication from them will be when Kia picks up my order.
You can search them on failcat and see how many they’ve been getting a month as an indicator. Google “failcat”

Pardon the ignorance, but can someone share with me when I will see my order on Failcat? Order was placed 10/5/2021. No real updates since then. Dealer tells me they will know more mid-February as to what their allocation is the next few months. There is currently nothing in Failcat that appears to match my order.

The dealer should usually give you an ETA shortly after your order gets picked up by Kia’s KFOS system. That’s when production starts. Then, later on, as production is well underway, the vehicle will eventually get a VIN, and then show up in failcat.

So most here get notified with an ETA from the dealer before It will show in failcat.

Also, keep in mind that not every VIN pops up on failcat. Mine didn’t, and from the failcat/dealer website stalking I was doing, it seemed like somewhere in the range of 10% to 15% never did.

Placed my order July 9 2021 I was quoted 3-6 months and still no vin number. I ordered the SX AWD Prestige night fall. Dealer tells me it’s due too Kia doesn’t have parts to build. Has any one else heard of this …Is this a normal wait time?
They're lying to you. It all has to deal with how many tellurides your dealership is allotted each month. Your in a line at your dealership and each month the factory takes a number of orders from each dealership. So if your 40th in line and your dealership only gets 5 tellurides a month then it would be 8 months before the factory even picks your order up from them. That's why people look for high volume dealers.

That's my exact build assume you're getting AWD since I think SX is AWD. nonetheless I ordered in June 2021 and still not in build stage 😞 From what I've read you're only in failcat during or after the build

I placed my order 07/27/21. The dealer had no info at all on my order until 01/05/22. At that point I got an ETA of 02/13/22. But it never showed up on Failcat until 2-3 weeks after the dealer called me with the ETA. I did pickup the car 2/4/22, so the ETA was earlier than expected.

I did. It is inconsistent. Some months they got 8 to 11, some just 2.

How do you know the KFOS (what does that stand for?) and the ETA? I haven't received any of that information from my dealer. Also, how can I figure out the dealer code? I know they are in Missouri, but so far all of the MO dealer codes I've clicked on are not them.

Go to failcat.com and search the dealership to see the average vins per month that are issued. Also, if the deposits are refundable, I suggest ordering from a couple of dealers. Then wait to see who delivers first- then cancel the other order. The deal won’t be upset, trust me, they will continue with your order and sell it within a week of receiving it.

Picked up my Telluride SX FWD last weekend from Kia Muncie. Ordered 6/8, delivered 1/25. Total wait time just under 8 months.

I paid $1000 deposit on Sept 1, 2021 for a 2022 Wolf Gray Nightfall Edition Prestige SX V6 AWD. When can I expect delivery if dealer told me "fast path allocation and no VIN assigned yet," as of Jan 31, 2022?

There’s no answer for you. VINs aren’t there until they’re about ready to ship. Should have gotten an ETA by now. Doesn’t sound good from what you’ve described. Most dealers tell when the order was picked up and some kind of ETA a month or so after order. And most would have had the vehicle by now, or be real close at least.

The search tool is a wonderful thing if you type in kfos and search in titles only.
You would eventually find this.

Check failcat.com and see how many vehicles your dealers gets monthly. Lower volume dealers take longer. Not all sells people/dealers are equal. Some will tell you what place in "line" your order is with their dealership, when picked up by KFOS and some won't.
