  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

Ok! Thanks. And how does that work or effect negotiations or getting a good price. I don’t usually agree to sticker price-so if you’re ordering does that screw you dor negotiations?

My experience in the Maryland/Delaware area is a $500 deposit to reserve a spot. The large volume dealers in the area stated they will not do this. The small/medium size have been more than willing. The dealer I placed my order with basically asked me the same questions as if I was building it on kia.com (exterior color, interior color, packages, floor mats, etc.). They stated they had X amount of build slots with Kia manufacturing, and I would be taking build slot Y. I also negotiated price before accepting the build slot.
Where in Maryland?? I’m in VA & that wouldn’t be too far.

I placed my order with Kia of Bowie in Bowie, MD. Errol Russell was the sales rep I dealt with, and Tina (I wish I remembered her last name) was the sales manager. It was a 15 minute process start to finish to get an order of exactly what I want. Great people to deal with. For comparison, King Kia in Gaithersburg, MD is the largest volume dealer in Maryland. They have moved 4 times the amount of SX(my rough math from watching dealer inventory) that Kia of Bowie has received, but King will not accept orders. They will call you on what they receive, but if you don't want that, then move on. I placed an order with Bowie, fully refundable, as a long term option. If another dealer receives one in that isn't already taken, I will consider and negotiate. If nothing happens in the short term, I know Bowie has one coming for me.

We ordered a Gravity Gray SX Prestige with tow package on March 29 was told 8 - 12 weeks.

Ordered SX 4/5 and was told today that my order is 'filled'. Not 100% but that means... but progress.

I ordered mine on 4/20 and they’re telling me 6-8 weeks. I will believe that when I see it haha. No updates yet.

I ordered mine 3/22, and my dealer just called saying he thought the build would start around 5/1 with delivery hopefully before end of May.

He said they can build the cars pretty quickly (final assembly), but the big problem is in logistics with cars sitting 3 or more days at different lots along the way to end destination.

I just ordered an SX prestige dark moss/black today. Was told 2 months

Work at a dealership in Iowa and our Kia reps are telling us three months on SX and EX trims and 2 months on LX and S trims.

I ordered 3/12 and neither the dealer nor Kia can give me any estimate. I think people saying otherwise are guessing. My dealer has been texting me twice a week after he talks to his reps, so communication from him has been great.
FWIW I ordered sx prestige, tow in moss/brown.

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.
I ordered mine on March 5th and was told about a month to get it, but now I’m being told that it maybe some time in June and that each dealer may only get 2 SX Prestige a month and that number includes special orders, I feel your pain but I think it’s worth the wait.

I placed the exact same factory order on 3/23. Nothing here either.

Ive heard mixed answers on that. Some say kias website updates whats available as soon as in transit. You can track anything these days why they arent more transparent with the shipping process is beyond me.
Kia has just rolled out a new ordering system this month is what I was told, I think they are still working the bugs out of it.

I’m so tempted to order, but hearing a 3-4 month wait time is scaring me off. I feel like I may just keep an eye out for the SX w/ Prestige and anyone who gets one in a 200 mile radius, I’ll buy.
You may want to get on the waiting list my local dealer is taking deposits to secure one because they are flying off the lot they said.

Ordered ours 3/16 picked it up Sat. If that helps anyone!
What model and options?

Just ordered Moss Green / Butterscotch SX. No deposit and was told 3 months minimum but looking closer to 5 months! Since I am in no rush, I’m pretty excited!

Everyone keeps saying that orders will be assigned as they make them, yet you have dealers that have the exact model you ordered 6 weeks ago for sale on their lots (2k miles away). You can't get a straight answer from anyone at Kia on an expected date and dealerships are maybe more clueless than consumers in a lot of cases. I am amazed at how you can build 100k's of cars a year but you can't track an order.
