I am not exactly sure what they do or do not have to consumers as of yet but I do know the installers that installed mine showed me what they called a T-Harness and actually pointed out where everything plugged in and how they were going to do it. They also said there would be no spicing and it wouldn't void the warranty. I guess the guys that installed mine were sharper than I thought. I am just glad I didn't have to install it after I saw what they had to go through. I may have turned my head long enough for them to sneak a splice in but I sure didn't see them do it. With that said I have dealt with computers of some sort most of my life and had to make cables, motherboards, and harnesses for connecting multiple hmi's and plc's together. It isn't that hard when you know where everything is supposed to connect. The installers, or someone they know, could have made the t-harnesses for them. Letourneu Industries in Lonveiw Texas made everything for their huge front end loaders used in mining. The front bucket could hold something like 15 ford pickups. They made every part on that thing. Controller boards to all the wiring harnesses, hydraulics and even had a steel mill on site to furnish all the steel that went into it all. Amazing. I still believe there is an installer that uses no splicing somewhere other than the one in Shreveport. If these guys can figure it out I am sure someone else can. Granted my installation was $100 more than what you are being quoted but the knowledge that there was no taping going on in my wiring makes me feel the extra money for the harness that was used in mine is well worth it.
Hey Rigit do you mind posting or sending me a PM with the name/number of your installer. If I can buy the harness from them I would install the Fortin unit myself. Maybe they discovered that a harness for a different Kia or Hyundai model works.
