• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Remote start

You have to get the Kia UVO app. You can only start it with a smart phone it’s not on the key fob.

I have seen/ heard that you can buy a part? Or have the dealer program the fob using an odd button and avoid using/paying for the app altogether. Like a dealer installed option....

I have that app based remote start on another vehicle I own and it is very unreliable.....

Not sure about that. I don’t put much faith in my dealer, they didn’t even know that it came with the remote start as standard. I would like to know this also. The App is terrible and takes almost a minute to start the car.

I am unsure of the exact details of how its done but there is an option for remote start and then the dealership programs the key fob so you do not have to use an extra fob for the remote start. It was a $450 add on but I worked it into the deal without having to pay extra for it. I am hoping to get it installed in a few weeks but waiting for both that and my trailer hitch to show up and then I will be able to provide more details.

Please do as Remote start on the fob and working dependably, Instantly and flawlessly, are one of the things that are a must have for me to put this vehicle on my very short list of choices...

In my experience as long as you have the key Fob with you when you open the door the vehicle stays running. If you do not have it the vehicle shuts off for safety.

Hi community its great to found this forum since there is so little info on the Telluride, I recently bought an EX trim and decided to test the UVO App, unfortunately in the Remote tab of the app is only showing remote door lock/unlock and climate, but no engine start and stop, any help in how to solve this, maybe im using the wrong app, or did not set up correctly sth, please let me know. Thanks

Climate is how you turn your engine on. Took me a while to figure it out! Lock doors first using UVO app then click on set your climate - set it to the temp you want and click start. Telluride will start up and run for 10 min :)

Here’s a screen cap of my app. I have an S with allows for the doors to lock/unlock and the remote start. I think the remote climate control is only on the EX and SX. My S has manual climate controls for the front and electronic (from the 8” touchscreen) for the rear.

@Razorback any updates on the remote start from the key fob? Did you get it installed and does it work?

I have been using the remote start a lot lately but can’t figure out why the car shuts off sometimes when you open one of the doors and some other times it doesn’t. Anyone have more details on how this works?

Is it key FOB related? In other words do you have your FOB when the engine remains on but the engine shuts off when you don’t?

So if you live in Phoenix and use the remote start to COOL the car, would you think we are wusses?

In Canada, UVO app with all the remote start and other features is free for 5 years. After that you need to pay for subscription. Free 5 years FTW!

any updates on the key fob remote start?

My father was checking out my new Telluride in SoCal while we were on the phone and I started it from the app while in Orlando, FL...we got a good kick outta that :)

There is absolutely no mention of remote start or any related feature / function in Telluride manual except the following line - "Inside movement detection is stopped under remote start (if equipped) status" So looks like vehicle is not equipped with remote start by default.
