• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... S Trim Headlights Not Bright

Last edited:
The Sealight's claim to be 7600 lumens. Drizzt said that he was disappointed in the brightness but I did a quick google search and it appears that regular halogen 9005 bulbs at 65w give off around 1700 lumens. Am I missing something? Are the Sealight's not hitting their claims? Are Drizzt's standards too high? lol

Looks like there's quite a bit of manufacturing variations in Sealight. I ended up returning mine because I found mine quite inadequate, but there seems to be others who were quite happy with their Sealight light output. I left a bad review and just recently got email from Sealight rep. She said Sealight improved their lights and she wanted to send me the new light for me to try. I'm quite happy with my Hikari, so I'm not pressed to try it out.

Roger that, thanks friend! I'm ordering the new versions of the Sealights today and they should be here tomorrow. I'll try to get a side by side and update on the brightness asap.

Have you installed these yet? If so how do you like them vs. stock?

I haven't used them at night yet, but they match the DRL's waaaay better than stock for sure. They seemed to be of good quality. Installed easy. I'll let you guys know once I use them at night and if I have any issues.

Ours won't be here until Wed, but if no one else has done photos by then I will.
I wasn't happy with the lighting as well and just bought my S model Thursday. I love everything about the car except the back up light placement makes it hard for rear view camera at night.. and the headlights wasn't bright enough. Please let me know how the led bulbs worked for you and did you notice that the range decreased because of the projection housing unit.

how did the led lighting work out for you and did you notice a huge difference. all the reviews i read stated with the projection housing you would loose considerable distance with a led light because they were not designed for that type of housing. also how do you like your back lighting at night, I'm not impressed because the camera view is grainy and dim. thinking about putting led bulbs for the back ups as well

My wife was ahead of me bringing our Telly home last night and she commented that the headlights weren't very bright. And, our S doesn't have floodlights. I'll probably upgrade the bulbs anyway but has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was your resolution? Thanks in advance.
I got some LED bulbs they are the perfect solution and still work when you switch to high beams. The brand I have been using in my last vehicle for the past year is AUXITO and the bulb type is 9005. They are $30 on amazon. At this price point they have been the best bang for your buck, and the beam pattern is adjustable. But I just left mine as they were out of the box.

I love them. No issues with distance from what I can tell. I got the "newer" more expensive version that's available now.

I've had led's for several months now. Love them. My wife had to get used to the detailed output and how it casts a light line that is very distinct. I've also upgraded my back up lights, rear license plate lights, and getting ready to do turn signals up front.

I can second the distinct horizontal "light line" and I love it. I don't need to see raccoons in the trees while I'm driving. 😂

Pull the dust cover off then you push and turn the blub 1/4 turn and it will pull out. the new blub plugs into the same plug. I put the new LED blub in 1st then placed the square power box on the side. it did fit just takes sometime to move into place. The dust cover goes back on with no issues.. No drilling required.

What size is the low beam? Do you have to purchase the pair high and low beam?

How making a youtube vid when you do please on how to installation

It's very simple and doesn't require many tools. It's mostly just twisting, turning and popping one clip with a slot/flat head screw driver. This basically covers it:
