I kept the OEM silver 18" wheels. I'm not super happy with Nitto Ridge Grappler in rain and thinking of switching to Michelin Defender LTX M/S 295s. On the measurements, I think 295 is the largest I can go and not rub since I got the 2" Truxx lift.Did you keep your OEM 18” wheels? Any pictures? I’m looking to stay with my OEM 18” LX wheels with the exact tires you are going with.
I ended up going with 265/60/18 Hankook Dynapros, definitely could have gone larger but looks and drives great even in rain.I kept the OEM silver 18" wheels. Post it on the for sale forumsI don’t meant to hijack this thread but I have the truxxxx lift for sale if anyone is interested.
Oooo that’s new!
Just ordered a set of these from Truxxx
I did!Post it on the for sale forums
@hahadady - were you ever able to get the 265/50/20s to fit without a lift? Was interested in the same setup for my EX AWD as well.I have to admit I was wrong.
Today I just realized they rub when backing up on full lock to the left.
It was on the back side of front fender. Very minor, but still they do.
Interestingly I can see rub only on the left. No idea why.
I might try the heat gun.
Also think I can install 1" wheel spacers I have already got.
But judging by tire position and angle, not sure they would help.
I will post any updates here.
So if I ditch the towing package, what do I need to purchase for shocks? Can I keep the same springs or do they need to be replaced as well? Thx any part numbers?Ditch the tow package suspension which consist of not so great, faulty, short lifespan "self adjusting" shocks and softer springs.
It's an ok system at best, even when it's working properly.
In general, "standard" shock absorbers have a very difficult and very important job which is to keep a vehicles suspension under control. The "tow package" adds more duties to the shock absorbers job. They now have to aid in not only supporting the vehicles static ride height but it also has to adjust the vehicles active ride height. So essentially they are now a jack of all trades and a master of none.
If you did h the self-leveling set up I would look into adjustable bags .So if I ditch the towing package, what do I need to purchase for shocks? Can I keep the same springs or do they need to be replaced as well? Thx any part numbers?
That’s what I did:If you did h the self-leveling set up I would look into adjustable bags .![]()
What paint match did you use and did you do it yourself or have a shop or service do it? Thank you.Small update on the Telly!
Paint matched thule box!
Also decided to paint the exhaust with high heat black gloss!
LOOKS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER
Do you think spacers would make this worse or better? Thinking about the same size tire with 20mm or 25mm spacers@hahadady - were you ever able to get the 265/50/20s to fit without a lift? Was interested in the same setup for my EX AWD as well.
are you running spacers and if so which ones, 20mm or 25mm?Finally had Nitto RIDGE GRAPPLER 265/50R20 on 2022 SXP nightfall wheels without a lift.
I was not sure if they would rub or not, fortunately they don't at all even on full lock.

View attachment 24745OKLAHOMA CITY -2020 SX. 2in Truxx spacer lift installed by Pierce Automotive. 265/50/20 Cooper Rugged Trek tires on stock 20s mounted at Jones Tires. No wheel spacers needed
No tire rubbing
Lane keeping ability is degraded
Much more tire noise
More body roll due to soft tires
NOTE: The spacer kit was installed exactly as instructed by the manufacture.
This Telluride does not have toe package or self-leveling. The vehicle looks very level.
