Telluride VIN Lookup Website

Great Job on this - I was able to find my Telly before my dealer notified me - Sticker created on 02/12 and ETA to dealer is 3/12. My order was placed January 8, pretty quick compared to most posts I have been reading.
Wow!! You placed and order January 8th and getting it March?? I ordered November and was told I may not even see it in May... SMH!!!

wow that is crazy. sorry for your delay. And shame on the dealerships like JD by me who have multiple Tellurides (including SXP) in stock but are charging way over MSRP for them because they can. Best of luck.

Thank You.. I already started looking at other cars as a contingency. It’s crazy!!

Which dealership is this? I want to see how many Tellys they're getting a month. I wonder if they get a lot or just have very few pre-orders. Or both...

@LC145 and @foresterh,

Yes, luck will be a big part of it as raydog noted. With the shift to KFOS-only ordering, it means that dealers now have to formally order the vehicle when they receive their monthly allocations around the middle of the month. Then, if they have an SX-P allocation, they are supposed to fill with their oldest "orders" from the kdealer system (or stack of requests at dealership - either way). Prior to this change, orders could also be picked up from kdealer, so dealerships would use their KFOS allocations to get unsold orders. Now that they can't do that, any SX-P arriving is highly likely to be pre-sold if they are (1) putting orders into kdealer and (2) following directions from corporate. If someone backs out of the order, which typically happens after delivery to dealership, then salesmen typically start calling their internal list of customers until someone makes a deposit and takes delivery.

Entries (orders) into KFOS close a few days after dealer receives news. So, if you find a dealership near you that is not taking pre-orders and will let you know right away when they have an SXP allocation around 15th of month... you can have it put directly into KFOS. Probably quite rare right now, unfortunately.
Thanks for this info, even if it's not great for locating an unsold one. One thing I've been doing when I contact the dealer is tell them to put me on the list if someone backs out of that car.

My latest update from my dealer, 3 days ago, is that my car was scheduled to be built in March (although he wasn't sure when, or how long after it would arrive). So I'm guessing I'll get that before I find another one. We have a lease due March 3rd that we'll likely just extend a month.

I placed my order January 3rd, and was told end of March, so right now he's right on target.

I put together a website that scrapes all of the new VIN numbers daily and lets you search/filter them. I started on January 7th, so cars produced before that won't be on the site. I may try and scrape historical data but for now it's just going forward.

Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to try and add to the site or if you have any issues with it.

I want to especially thank MichelW for his help and inspiration based on his very useful spreadsheet.

Hi Jamie,

does this link work on IPhone? it keeps saying loading..

So 5 SXP for Kia of Muncie in the last 20 days.....I must be about 18 th on their waiting list now.....definitely.....maybe

This is more SXP than their historical average. Hopefully it’s proof that Kia is stepping up it’s game.

Hi Michel,
Any chance that you can now track the VIN’s coming to Canada along with the vehicle details and the destined dealerships? Seems like we’ve been missing out on tracking delivery here in Canada. Just being hopeful 🙂
Thanks

As of February 10, 2020, I have update my Google Sheet with the latest VINs. The last VIN is now 5XYP24HC5LG079257.

Complete history: Google sheet.

Last 3 months only: Google Sheet

For the Canadian market, I have found a way to know if the produced VIN is for Canada or the Middle East. To know this I now use the Canadian UVO API. With this information I now know that Kia is producing more Tellurides for the Canadian market now. I think this might be related to the Hyundai boat that capsized in Georgia in September 2019. Apparently, a bunch of Telluride destined to the Middle East were on that boat and maybe Kia decided to take some future inventory from Canada and produce more the the Middle East. In December 2019 and January 2020 (so VINs produced in November and December), there were basically no Telluride in stock in any Canadian dealers. I hope this gets fixed with 482 Telluride VINs produced in January 2020.

@Michelw was looking into this. I don't currently know how to find them.

Currently there is no way to get the VIN window sticker for Canadian Tellurides. The best I can do is scrape de Kia.ca inventory API but Kia Canada does not seems to update this very often.

I have found the Kia Canada UVO subscription API that I can scrape that can tell me if a VIN is a Canadian VIN or not (if a VIN is not US or Canadian then it is Middle East bound). Using this UVO API won't give me the color or dealer but at least will give me the model from the VIN: EX or SX.

Currently this Canadian information is in my Google Sheet if you filter on 'Market=CAN'.

Here are some interesting stats. for the Canadian VIN that I found by looking at my data. It looks like Kia is producing a lot more Canadian VINs in the last 1-2 months than before. This is probably do to the Hyundai capsized cargo ship last September in which a bunch of Middle East bound Tellurides were on the ship. Kia probably took some future Canadian bound Telluride and make Middle East models instead:

It looks like a lot of the new VINs coming in finally have the price increase. At least the few I've checked.

Bonjour Michelw,
I ordered an SX limited on February 3rd to make sure to get it in April. Last week Kia Sainte-Julie told me they found one from Kia Canada and they will keep it at the dealer until I am ready to take possession. We went to the dealer last Friday to have a look and odometer shows 7 km :) I see from your VIN datasheet the car was made on Jan. 10 Is there a way to know what dealer ordered it originally.
Thanks for your good work

It's nice to see that there are some Canadians buyers using this forum. It the first time that I see a picture of a Canadian VIN but unfortunately it is impossible for me to know what dealer ordered it originally (no information about the dealer is on the VIN). By looking at your VIN picture, I see TELLURIDE (ON) SXL. Maybe ON mean Ontario ?

It will be nice to know if your dealer got the Telluride from another dealer in Quebec or Ontario (which I doubt because it only has 7 km) or if they requested it from Kia Canada and they checked their inventory lot and found one that matches what you were looking for.

My Vin showed up yesterday. Does that mean the Telly has been built? Any way to track the shipping progress?

Question, if I ordered 11/15 would they need to transfer that order to the KFOS system or is that done automatically?
