• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The UVO subscription is only good for one year starting from the day you put your deposit down

I’m sorry but you’re incorrect. I followed your search and looked deeper and found on Kia’s site additional information you missed.

Thank you for the additional information, but actually @Gwyn is correct. It is confusing due to naming.

There are two services - UVO e-Services and UVO link. I normally wouldn't copy and paste elements of web-page, but Kia's new site (debuted last month) makes it a bit harder to find. @Gwyn was referring to UVO e-Services, which is indeed free and requires smartphone and app. UVO link service requires a subscription after 1 year from date of sale/lease. It uses the vehicle's internal modem and cellular service so you don't need to have the phone plugged in to use e-Services functionality.

Here's the page: About UVO e-Services

Then, you have to click on "eServices HELP" - there are dropdown boxes describing the differences.

What is UVO eServices?
"UVO eServices is a subscription-free infotainment and telematics service available on select Kia vehicles. The system allows users to make hands-free calls on their smartphone, stream music, navigate to saved points of interest, and perform vehicle diagnostics with the use of voice commands. UVO eServices uses your smartphone to connect to your vehicle’s data via a USB cable."

What is the difference between UVO Link and UVO eServices?
"UVO eServices requires a compatible phone to be connected to the vehicle via a USB cable. UVO eServices provides features such as My POIs1, Vehicle Diagnostics2 Parking Minder3, and more, accessed through the UVO eServices app. UVO link is an embedded system with a modem built into the vehicle that supports all the functionalities of UVO eServices plus a variety of features like remote commands4, Find My Car5, and many more through the Kia Access with UVO link app and Kia Owner’s Portal"

It looks like Kia is moving everything to UVO link - as there is an N/A in the column for e-Services when select Telluride - but it's N/A in every vehicle? Maybe it's the old app... or maybe it will still work subscription free with the app for some limited features like handsfree calling etc, as it says.

They are two different apps in the Google Play store - Kia eServices, and Kia Access with UVO Link

Oh I knew about the two different apps. I already called and talked to a rep at UVO today. He said there are three packages but advised of the top two. He stated the top package which was the plus was free for only one year after purchase of the Telluride. After the year it would be $22.50 a month or $225 a year. Instead of going by only the site as it seems confusing and misleading I called and asked.

If you go to the kia.com website. Click on the little robot on the left, and type int uvo cost. The reply is:

"UVO eServices is a subscription-free information system for your Kia vehicle. It provides you with an innovative in-vehicle connectivity experience. "

So Kia's current official stand is it is free.
UVO eservices and UVO link are two different services. UVO link allows you to remote start the car, open doors and the such.
Eservices allows you to track maintenance, create service appointments online and run regular diagnostics on the car.

Well I guess with all the info above I will be starting my car the old fashioned way. No way am I paying $22 a month for remote start!!

eServices is a free app with no subscription since it doesn't use a Cell Modem or Cell Data and doesn't have remote features. Uvo Link like all other remote applications that use cell Modems and Cell data are Subscription services.

The price still isnt justified solely on the cell data aspect. For $45 a month give me wifi in the car aswell at least.

Anyone have a promo code for the UVO subscription? Apparently, Hyundai gives 3 years free with their similiar service. I guess Hyundai is the Luxury side of Kia. Like Acura is with Honda, Lexus with Toyota and so forth.

More like GMC and Chevy. Genesis would be their Cadillac equivalent. But yes, Kia shafted us on the UVO subscription and even remote start on the fob. Guess it’s just the price we pay for a better looking car over the Pallisade.

Have you tried reaching out to UVO support to ask for the discount? They said they would give me one since I was so unsatisfied with the performance of Kia Access.

Kia shafted you? It was fully disclosed that key fob remote start was not an option and nothing said UVO would be free forever.

The discussion we were having was that Hyundai offer Blulink remote start for 3 years versus Kia 1 year trial @mrmac. I never said that I was surprised or blindsided about the trial length or remote fob for the Telly.

No need to worry, I was as much an informed buyer as you. 😉

Hey, has anyone seen any updates on the remote start subscription? I just saw a third party site claim remote start for the telluride included as part of the "lite" subscription free for the first 5 years? Wondering if false...

Yeah that doesent seem right. Also stinks they only give 1 year where they used to give 5-10 years (I believe ) for previous cars. I can’t find how much it cost after the year ? Stinks we will basically have to pay a monthly fee if we want to remote start our car and other uvo services.
My issue you just paid $43,000 for their vehicle and now they want extra money for a service that should be free for 5 years for the new car owners
