What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

Another first time poster. I saw the Telluride at the MSP Auto Show in March and was hooked, but not ready to buy. Now I'm more to ready to buy (15 to 45 days from now). I'm kind of fussy, want a white SX with something other than white/gray interior leather, towing package and preferably the Prestige package.

Given my specific requirements, am I better off ordering? If so, how long can I reasonably expect to wait for it? Is it getting too late for a 2020 build order?

What's the likelihood of finding my specifications without ordering? I'm also willing to travel a reasonable distance to pick up a vehicle. I currently live in Minnesota, but will be relocating to Florida.

Second question, I'm not really inclined to pay over sticker. Does ordering usually dictate a better price?

Welcome! Lots of questions. Most could be found by reading posts, but here's a short answer. You should have ordered in July if you wanted it by now... but since you didn't you can go hunting for an unsold Telluride. Being in Minnesota, it may be easier, as Luther Kia in Bloomington has received the most Prestige vehicles in the country.

@Mweiland and @aaroneast are Minnesota Kia dealers on this forum, and they should be able to help you out.

If you order now, wait time is about 4-6 months. Especially for Prestige.

If you don't want to order, you can narrow down your desired trim by filtering on the spreadsheet below and calling the dealers with an allocation. Most if not all will be sold already - especially Prestige. (Or they will have a massive dealer markup.) It is possible, but time consuming, to find an unsold allocation and purchase it at MSRP or lower with rebates. Some forum members have done that.

Also, check the Dealer Inventory section in "How to Buy...". It is current and often updated with unsold incoming allocations. Still a month or two out from delivery.

Good luck!

Hi, New to the forum. I’ve read the last 30 pages. I’ll try to make a long story short.
I’m in the market for a Telluride EX premium package in grey, looking to pay MSRP in the NY area for the last month or so. I can’t seem to find one nearby. I’ve done all the research and know this is the car I want.

I already encountered a bait and switch at auto world of Long Island, wasted over 4 hours at Northstar Kia trying to settle for a white EX but decided to walk out of the deal and not settle and some to a few other dealers who can “order” one or swap with another dealer (would rather not go this route due to “fees” and the wait time). I haven’t found one dealer within 50 miles that will sell a grey EX premium at MSRP (42ish right?) seems like supply and demand is still there.

I guess I’m willing to wait another month or may start making calls to dealers in PA, Delaware and Jersey. Anyone know a trustworthy and ahem ethical dealer in the area? Referrals always seems to work better!

Thanks in advance,
DL

I think I have a grey EXP coming in February. I’ll check tomorrow morning. Located in Minnesota

I think Michael Kia in Groton CT doesn't mark up. They advertise their price - don't do "call for price" or the other scams. Call first and get an email confirming the price - if they have what you want., Let us know how you make out. I saw they were getting a white SXP AWD with trailer hitch in the end of December but it was sold when I called (a death in the family became a priority over getting a Telluride). Try finding a Costco dealer - they have to Honor the price that is given through Costco. Same for Truecar, but the last time I checked Truecar was getting as sleazy as the dealers. They were using the average market price then making it appear you were getting a discount at MSRP, when I could have got the same MSRP dealing directly with Michael Kia.

Costco dealers set own price. They can all potentially be different. Some dealers... The Costco price is MSRP or $200 off.

I do have a Grey/black EX-P with tow package coming in around 3/10/20. We sell at MSRP less any incentives. The MSRP is $43,190 . Don't need to come into the store either. We can ship to you. Let me know if this is something your interested in. Mitch.weiland@luthernissankia.com

So Mweiland replied with tour interested vehicle, and I've provided a list of vehicles matching your description (didn't filter on interior or tow) with VINs generated since December from the production spreadsheet on the forum. I'd recommend reaching out to these dealers directly with a specific inquiry on your vehicle. With December or later VINs, they should have either already arrived at the dealership, or will be arriving within the next month. These are vehicles already produced and likely in-transit. Many may be pre-sold, but the premium package is new.

This is a .csv file - just change the extension and import with comma separation.

I just picked up an SX from Michael Kia in CT. They had a an EX on the lot and I paid slightly under sticker. Very easy to deal with and were transparent. I negotiated everything via email. I dealt with Leslie the Internet Sales Manager and she was great. Good luck

Is there a way to do this for the SX model in Gravity Grey or Everlasting Silver?

Just got a call from a dealer who is willing to go 1,500 over MSRP- final price 43,390 for a grey EX premium package telluride. Is that a good price? Should we pull the trigger? Or are there better deals? I’ll continue to research but just wanted to share the news.

It depends on your situation and needs. Luther Kia of Inver Grove reached out to you for one arriving in March - they sell at MSRP, but it will involve transport cost to NY. You can order from another dealer at MSRP or lower - but your wait will likely be 4-6 months. Note that there should be a $1000 finance rebate. Also, for that markup, you can negotiate other add-ons if you want them like tint, etc. I'd push the dealers hard. You have a list of dealers - the more legwork you put in, the more offers you'll have to evaluate - just have to determine the value of your time.

Some people have paid little to no markup or massive markups - so just decide and make your deal and be happy!
