What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I was told by my local dealer here in Florida that a 2024 EX should be able to be purchased at MSRP. I was considering an EX or possibly an SX FWD. Does this sound feasible as these are not the most popular trim groups?
The trim level has nothing to do with markups or the lack thereof. Many (all?) KIA dealerships are franchise independents. Some of them are bastardos and get greedy as all out. Others are much more reasonable and understand what sells. The greedy ones think that because a particular model is hot, they can put the big markup on it, thinking they can still sell. And it's not just Tellurides and Sorentos - if they have a hot seller like an EV6 - bang, on goes the markup.

July 7,2022 All said and done 69k with TTL, markup, warranty and other BS. 2/22 We went in, test drove one, the wife liked it they offer me 3500 for a single owner 2013 equinox 2LT with 102k. "Sold privately for 11,500." Tried to sell us one off the lot which didn't meet the minimum requirement of Wolf Gray. We went inside she ordered all the options, came out to 61k. Gave them 2 grand to place the order. On the day of delivery we ended up 8k over the build with the other options and coverage. The dealership Tomball Beck & Masten KIA has been a PITA to deal with for everything since. She loves the thing so whatever.

Hate to say it but you totally got screwed on that deal.

Yeah, their CPOs in the SX Prestige we're 62k plus all the extra. High demand high prices, next time I'm driving to Louisiana to buy a vehicle. They're typically 10-12k less than the Houston market.

I was told that South East Florida (where I live) is horrendous to find a reasonable Kia dealer. I have not tried looking around yet, but am willing to go further north in Florida to the less populated areas to try my luck. Even on You Tube they have mentions of how ridiculous Kia Dealers are and for the most part are the worst when it comes to charging over MSRP compared to other makes.

Here in Ohio, every Kia dealer around Columbus is selling at MSRP - no markup. When I picked up my Telluride SX Prestige X-Line yesterday, it was MSRP plus $995 for a ceramic coating and $1000 for gap insurance. I told them NO on both of them and they quickly removed it and took it back to MSRP with a military discount. Here in Ohio, no way anyone should pay a markup, all are MSRP, even on the hard to get trims and color combos like mine.

For years now, just about every new car dealership has pre printed on the purchase agreement some form of "fluff" or additional profit. It can go with but is not limited to "processing fee" "documentation fee" and/or numerous other names. These fees can vary but are usually around $1,000 in the past. The only way to get it removed (once identified) is by selling the car under MSRP. Problem with most Telluride sales today, is that on top of the previous standard "fluff" is added additonal other fees and non requested options to bring the price way over the MSRP. Anyone getting a car for MSRP + nothing else but Title, Tax, and Reg fee is getting the best deal. PS...There is also sometimes a very small Battery, Tire, and miscellaneous fee.

Dealership I used is now up to $5995 mark up.

That's me! I found the dealership from this forum - Coughlin Kia of Lancaster - ask for Pedro!

Welcome! I'm definitely subscribing to this!
I been working with multiple dealers. Around Pittsburgh, PA for 2024 Telluride.

They won't go under MSRP and won't lower the price of the car by the cost of the BS doc fee. It's a seller's market for sure for the Telluride.

The dealerships have all refused to decrease the price of the Telluride by the price of the doc fee.
I think for most (all?) dealers, you are correct.

Doc fees and other types of fees are capped by state. All the other fluff is dealer gravy - window etching, upholstery protection, ceramic coating, etc… and they can charge whatever they feel like. It’s up to consumers to be wise, because if people are dumb enough to pay, they’ll keep doing it.

Kia dealers in the PA/OH/WV area seem to be jockeying around the MSRP territory, but are also selling the vast majority of their inventories straight off the truck. I was lucky enough to find my ‘24 SX X-Line as the only vehicle that had (allegedly) sat for two days at Freedom in Morgantown. They did MSRP, didn’t push any add-ons, gave me about $1000 over what I was expecting on my trade, and I got in with 5.25% at KFA with excellent credit.

That's a low as I've heard. My credit is 835 and through my credit union, I could only get them to 6.3%.

Who is KFA?

In-house, Kia Finance America. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Mine is 810. Might have come down to amount financed and the term, but that’s the best APR they were offering, and should be available to every qualified buyer, currently.

My 6.3% is a refinance. So, I'll wait a year or so, when hopefully the rates come way down before I refinance again.

5.49 kia in house financing last month (July) and 765 credit score. Had a trade in plus put down a little bit of cash on the deal. 60 months.

I am interested to hear from my fellow California shoppers. I am trying to order a 2024 SXP X-Line with specific colors (Everlasting/Terracotta). While I am willing to wait, I still am having trouble swallowing the high market adjustments. I am on the Central Coast so have been contacting dealerships in NorCal and SoCal and still find the average adjustment above MSRP is $5K. I just got our closest dealer in Santa Maria to come down from $7K to $3K for the market adjustment in their latest offer. They also (LOL) said they would 'waive the aftermarket protections they install on their higher end models'. Should I take it for the exact model, trim, and color I want? Curious as to your thoughts. Thanks.

2024 Telluride SX-P X-Line (Black/Black Interior) with Floor Mats and Mud Guards
MSRP: $54,395 - $500 Dealer Discount + $532 in Legit State Fees (Doc Fee, Title, Tag, etc.).

Had a great experience purchasing a new 2024 Telluride from Jim Shorkey Kia with the help of Sales Consultant Niko Croom and Sales Manager Anthony Papini. I was shopping from out of state, so everything was arranged by phone and text. Both of these gentlemen were very responsive to my questions and I got a wonderful car at a good price. When I arrived at the dealership, the Telluride was clean, gassed up and already had my temp tag on it. Paperwork was printed and ready to go and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. There was no finance office pressure to add extras (though they were made available to me) and no mandatory dealer add-ons (i.e. paint protection) or other bogus fees like at so many other dealers I consulted. Overall, very pleased with the dealership, the staff, the transaction and, of course, the Telluride.
