What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

My SXP w/black copper, cargo mat, interior lightning, wheel locks was ~$48k (including $899 forced dealer options) out the door before adding some additional options made by me.

After skimming the post, I'm gonna take it being able to get the car at MSRP no gimmicks with all the Kia programs is considered a win at the moment?

I'd say MSRP with no Kia program is the "win". The Kia program(s) should get you below MSRP. That said, a real "win" would be below MSRP before incentives/programs.

As an FYI, I spoke at length with Costco Auto Service this morning. There is NO program in place for the Telluride yet, and likely won't be till the novelty wears off. They're getting tons of calls about it. If a dealer tells you you're getting a Costco price, he's likely doing it on his own.

Without the Costco-specific "deal sheet" it's not the negotiated deal, and they say that none exists for the Telluride yet.

Don't care why I'm getting a costco discount..they can call it what they want as long as I'm getting the discount. ;)

Right! Any discount right now is worth grabbing. I wasn't questioning, just trying to get it here.

As long as the current incentives are equal or better when I pick up the car still makes it hell of a deal, considering my other option is a Subaru Ascent that currently has no incentives and worse financing options than my credit union offers...

you can get a top of the line Ascent for $43k, MSRP $48k

Are there any incentives currently offered? All I see for my area is financing and leasing, no rebates.

No rebates at the moment. Just finance and lease incentives - $1500 Dealer Choice program OR low APR OR lease cash. The lease cash can be estimated with Kia's lease calculator - but their money factor is terrible - so not really a good deal. You could try to negotiate a one-pay lease.

The competitive rebate and the owner loyalty rebate do not currently apply to the Telluride - but if you have a sold order prior to early July, then the dealership can retroactively claim ONE of those rebates - $1000 each.

I'll have to ask my dealer about the retroactive rebates, gave them $1000 downpayment 6/27 so hopefully they can help me out. Still trying to get ANY information from them, all they've said is "it's #20 of 90 SX AWDs." But they don't know what that means.

Yes, make sure they "claim" the rebate if you are planning to purchase - they have to do something to claim if its a sold order. They actually ordered the car for you to your specs on that date, correct? Did you get a printout of the sold order from Kia's online system? Some dealerships try to string along customers with $1000 deposits hoping to get an allocation - in which case the rebate wouldn't apply because it wasn't a sold order prior to cutoff. Yes, it's frustrating.

I'm getting the feeling their hoping for an allocation, never got any printout of an order. I've seen so much conflicting information about the order process, some people saying there is no custom order and every dealer is just plucks allocations off the assembly line. And the salesperson I'm working with is clueless.

Sounds like they don't want a sold order because they don't want to agree on price - they could hit you with markup later. I would recommend that you find a different dealer (there are many in Ohio - see this forum) and ask if they will take a sold order (you must get this from the sales manager) and agree on price - with a printout from the internal Kia system showing a sold order. Take that $1000 back. Also, try not to leave more than $500 or find a dealer who will take a picture of a check (not actual check) to show Kia - Kia wants to ensure that a sold order is actually a person - because dealerships were placing fake sold orders to get inventory and game the system.

At your current dealership, ask to speak with the sales manager and get a straight answer - you might have to do this in person and muscle your way into his office or march up to where they stand. Probably 9/10 Kia salespeople ARE clueless... they are just supposed to be nice and play dumb to relay info from sales manager to customer... they all pretend not to know anything. My sales rep claimed he'd never been asked if a deposit was refundable. Ha.

Expect to be jerked around by Kia dealerships - we all have. Maybe 7 out of 10 are really shady... but there's hope.

Super helpful, thanks for all your input. I've got emails documenting an agreed-upon price, but I get that that's not exactly binding. I've called and left VMs for the sales manager, but maybe I need to take a trip out there. I actually live in Pittsburgh, but this dealer is only about an hour away and was willing to sell below MSRP before incentives. I was told by the salesperson that the manager was placing an order, but who knows what they actually did. I wrote a strongly-worded email but I doubt that will help at this point! Maybe it is time to go crawling back to my local Kia dealers and eat the $1400 off MSRP.

I see. Well, there's no rule against having multiple orders... just don't put down a large deposit on the second one! And see what comes in first. I was handed a printout which indicated a sold order and everything went to plan. Just took 4 months.

I had ordered and put a payment down on a S Trim about 3 weeks ago in MN. The dealership has been great to deal with and updates me each week but not a lot of progress on it. I believe the color combo may be the reason White exterior /Gray interior. However, they called to say an EX was coming that was unspoken for. It is Black with black interior which I am perfectly fine with. Will be here in a week. After all in with taxes and tags, an EX with hitch and floor mats, AWD - $39.3K. I feel like I am getting a great deal but not positive. They knocked off $1500 off MSRP due to me being patient.

I noticed today that there are a lot more Tellurides sitting at dealerships. Hoping this means demand is dropping and incentives are going up! When I built an SX online today, a 36mo lease had $2,400 in incentives.

Yes, they have lease cash - actually they have lowered from earlier in the year - but their money factor is high - thus the rent charge is nearly $5k.

I have placed an order for an SX (not prestige) but didn’t put down a deposit so told my dealer to let me know if they got one in before. They just emailed to tell me that they are being allocated an SXP with dune interior. I told them the prestige was above our price point. He said he would be around $53k!!! I feel like that is way over msrp. I ordered my car based on Kia website’s msrp so now I’m thinking they are going to try to price gouge based on “demand”. I know some dealers are moving away from charging more than msrp. $53k is high for an SXP right??
