However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I guess I just haven't paid attention to the lower trim markups. This is shocking. I would be marching over to the Hyundai dealership and getting a Palisade before I would pay these prices.
I second this - still a solid value buy on the lower trims but with these markups you can bring in outside competition...such as the Palisade...

Yeah, it's insane. There was an SX with everything under the sun at $58k... blew my mind.

My Telluride is coming in a week from Saturday (9/5). It's a White with grey interior SX P with interior lighting and tow package a -nd the MSRP is $49,300. The dealer is selling it to me for MSRP - Costco pricing that takes off $800-$1200.

It would be a cold day in hell before I would pay that ransom. But, people are. I hope these gouging dealerships lose business in the long run, it’s despicable.

It sucks. Problem is, it's still a good deal for what you get comparative to others in the class. We needed a car, I loved the Telluride and pushed hard for it. Fiancee really loves Explorers, but I had serious doubts about the transmission and general drive. Still got my Telluride S, albeit with slightly fewer features (no panoramic moonroof, no middle row heated seats, no cooled seats, no power folding middle seats) for $5k less.

Yes, it’s been over a year since I test drove a standard EX over at Rodeo Kia, and even back then with the markups and addons it was 10K over MSRP.

True, it just really rubs me the wrong way. As long as you are happy and ok thats all that matters. Enjoy!

I paid $41k for my Telluride S in the Atlanta area. Feeling like I got screwed, but I couldn't find a single dealership with them in stock or without a hefty markup. I paid a $5k markup over MSRP, but they did some work on our trade-in by giving us about $1k over what we probably should have gotten. And we got them to throw in crossbars. Still, feeling a little sour about that after reading people getting them at MSRP, though maybe Atlanta is a different beast.

Not to take away from your happiness, because you have it and are driving it (i don’t have mine yet) but I paid that for my vehicle also in the ATL Metro area.

i am hung up on the doc fee and the trade in appraisal though.

Such is life. Today, your wallet took a beating. Tomorrow, you’re smarter and more informed. You learn and move on.

I’m excited to hear that you are a proud owner and won the fiancée over with the Telly. Consider this: it could have gone two ways - either you'd come out as stronger husband material or she could have given the ring back. Count it is a win

I ordered 2020 sx for MRSP. On August 22, I received 2021 SX. During the waiting period, in the summer, Kia Canada changed the price to 2021 (+1200) and the interest rate + 1%. I was already ready to overpay mentally, but the dealer fulfilled the April conditions.
+ the dealer installed the winter package (weels lock, block heater) on the car for free.
Dealer Go Kia Edmonton.

Haha great points!

Where are you buying from?

I had some luck with the trade-in and asking for crossbars. Not a ton, but nice to get some free crossbars, so perhaps you can also get different accessories you want as a last resort?

Ed Voyles of Chamberlee
They’ve been pretty good. I’ll find out in 2 weeks how the rest of the buying process goes. Good point about asking for some accessories.

Small world!

That's where I bought mine.

welp. Then let’s hope I don’t see a $5k Mark up when signing Paper!

Stamford Kia in CT was selling at MSRP a few weeks ago and seemed like a decent dealer. Although they were only taking orders on 2021's, you can always check to see if someone has cancelled their order on an incoming car.
A few days ago, Stamford CT dealership told me that an order for SX with Sx Prestige and Nightfall in wolf grey with black interior got canceled and it is expected to come in sometime in October... I'm trying to order one in black ebony so I passed.

We paid MSRP at Lou Fusz Kia in St Louis. They regularly have unspoken for models coming in each week.

Not anymore! LOL

I'll wait for the 2022 Telluride before I pay something like $3 grand or more over MSRP. Just think of all the tweaks that model will have. Maybe power folding 3rd row, wifi hotspot, updated Android, maybe a Hybrid version...

Uh oh... first person to get the 2022 train rolling. Oh no. Let's keep the speculation going.

At the rate my ETA keeps sliding...it might be a 2022 for me as well... Not liking these prestige orders that went in after mine having ETAs before me. Feeling like my order is cursed somehow.

I like this strategy. Only I’m gonna tell them 6K under invoice.

Actually my real strategy is to wait a few months until real discounts (and the Palisade, which I’m also seriously considering) appear. Then I’m gonna search Auto Trader/Car Gurus for the lowest price in the country and ask a local dealer to beat the price.

My goal is 41K max for an SX Prestige (hey, that’s 6K under sticker!), maybe 42.5 for whatever the all-in Palisade is.
lol

I know of three dealers in my area who are selling at MSRP; Stamford, Dutchess in Poughkeepsie, and Middletown. Dutchess ended up getting the one I wanted in, so buying from them.
