Where to place the floor jack

Those are fine, but its no different than a hockey puck or similar rubber cushion. All the weight going through the center of the pinch weld.
 
Got a chance to try a different placement for the floor jack today during my planned tire rotation.

Thanks, Husker Soze. This is very helpful! From this angle its a little hard to tell. But is that the suspension cross-member mentioned up thread? It looks like it to me, just double checking. I wonder if the back could be lifted the same way?

Yes it is the cross member.

And yes, the rear can be lifted the same way.

You need to find a puck with a deep enough slot so the pinch weld do not touch. The top of the puck should be on either side of the pinch weld. Similar to the jack that comes with the Telluride.

So when I tried to lift the rear end placing the floor jack puck at the below indicated location ("Rear"), the car raised pretty uneven. The exhaust hanger is right in the middle and I had to favor the driver side to place the jack. The driver side rear wheel was couple of inches off the ground and the passenger side still seemed to be touching. It didn't feel right so I lowered the car. Do you have the same issue?

not really.

it mean it wasn't perfectly even...but no more than an inch or inch & half difference

this is the spot i use in the front for oil changes...it's a pain though cause the jack is so far under the car that you only have a couple inches to move the handle up and down cause you're basically hitting the underside of the front bumper...my jack is also not a low profile jack like yours

LOL. I used my low profile jack yesterday and used that spot and I had the same problem, only a couple of inches to move the dam handle. It works though, slowly .....hahahaha

i was looking at replacing mine with one of those low profile ones but i didn't think there would be a ton of difference because the jack arm connection point to the jack probably isn't that much lower to make any difference so i didn't bother...now i just jack it up close to where it makes contact before i slide it under...once i get it off the ground i slide the ramps under and drive it up the ramps...i was doing this when i only had my old steel ramps...just picked up rhino ramps so i'm hoping that i will be able to drive it right up the ramps without making contact to the bumper and not even need to use a jack

I got rhino ramps, really like them. Can drive up without any issues.
 
Just an FYI. Jacking any vehicle on the centerline is not stable and can lead to serious injury or death. Always jack on the recommended jack points and use jacks stands if you are working in the wheel well or under the vehicle.
