• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Headlight Led Upgrade

I don't know why it took me so long to pull the trigger, but Black Friday certainly played a role, so here it is, I pulled the trigger. As you can see the beam pattern remained unchanged, and I get a brighter whiter light. What blinding on coming traffic? What are you talking about?

Looks good. What bulb did you go with? That bright spot is the concern for glare to you and blinding cars in front or oncoming but it looks very small and I don’t see dark spots. So overall looks like a great investment!

On a side note, I learned while researching SAE/DOT certified fog lights that the “horizon line” on driving lights with projector housings that some people have complained about is how manufacturer’s projector housing passes compliance tests to not blind traffic and stay legal. Old school reflector housings used lower output bulbs and don’t have a line instead they light up equally above and below the line of sight but don’t go out as far. I have a golf cart with a reflector housing and tried an LED bulb that perform worse than a cheap halogen so if I want LED I have to find a better housing. Since fog lights are meant for foreground and not distance like driving lights, LED makes great fog lights because they can make up for any dark spots in the immediate front of the vehicle. BUT I have found by just adding whiter lights to my S low and high beams the daytime run lights appear to work better when the headlights are on for the foreground.

Another observation, that horizon line plays with your brain. You think there is no light cast above it but if you put a light meter there is actually an illumination reading. The one thing I can say is that these modern projectors do have a challenge on hilling roads at night. You definitely need to drive much slower if you don’t have a light bar. One idea is a magnet mount light bar for the roof meant for off-road if you plan a drive to some mountains?

I didn’t see this explicitly mentioned but if we have an EX non Prestige with regular head lights, can we just swap those bulbs out with the Sealight (or other) LED bulbs? I saw some posts where people had to redo the connectors or entire headlight unit. I’m hoping it’s as simple as just swapping out the bulbs, correct?

Correct.

The group on here has done a great job trying out a ton of options and post lots of pics. I went with the Auxito and love them, but there are a bunch of good upgrades. Just search "Led" or "Hid" upgrades

I upgraded my headlights to LEDs... have been happy so far. BUT has anyone experienced any condensation in the headlight housing? I noticed like 2 days ago after a pretty big temperature drop here in the northeast.

Did you remove the desiccant when you upgraded or did you have to modify the cap?

Does this bulb have both high and low beam leds?
It does. The EX, S and LX have the halogen. The replacements mentioned are low and hi beams in one like the stock halogen.

Does this bulb have both high and low beam leds?
It’s a single bulb for the LX, S, and EX (non-P). Your high beam is integrated into headlight assembly. There’s an actuator that adjusts the cutoff flap to allow more light.

I'll remove the LED and reinstall the stock bulbs Take it for a warranty

you should put back the stock bulbs and see if any kind of error from the LED to the electrical system

The LED’s run cooler than the stock Halogens and that may be contributing to the condensation some are experiencing. (It also makes removing snow and ice off the headlights harder.)

Please help a desperate husband out.....

In true fashion I got caught up at work and with life and dropped the ball on finishing the research and procurement of HID or LED replacements for my amazing brides Telluride for upcoming Bday! I NEED TO GET THEM ORDERED TODAY .....LOL

It is a 2020 EX Telluride that I would like to get her the upgrade she had mentioned many times so I am open to either HID or LED REOLACMENTS on headlights and would like to also swap/upgrade all interior and exterior lighting that remains. I have briefly searched for adding the fog lights but feel that will be a tad more entailed for now and time available due to life and work.

I have read thru several pages when time allows but was hoping some awesome members here could point me in the best direction for the best lighting upgrade since she complains about low light at night while driving. I am great with the technical part of any swap needed such as HID etc so please let me know and show of possible what you feel had been the best yet.

Thanks in ADVANCE

I bought these for my 21 S; plug and play no errors and I don’t need hi beams anymore. I bought these off Amazon since they were cheaper than the Lasfit website. I’m assuming your EX isn’t prestige and has the incandescent bulbs.
