• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... put an order in on 6/26/21...2022 SX AWD glacial white pearl with tow package and mud guards...dealer said 6-8 months...the wait begins

in the meantime after searching around on here i plan to pick up the following once i have confirmation the car is coming...i also included some maintenance info for myself when the time comes so i don't have to search everywhere for it...i'll have to look at it but i may cut a hole in the mud guard to make removing the oil filter easier...i despise those guards being in the way...

...any other must have items for this car?...are the wiper blades good or should i be looking at a set of bosch icons?

-smartliners for cabin floor
-toughpro mat for the cargo area (as it seems to be the only one that allows easy access to the compartment as well as to roll it up partially if the 3rd row is being used, wish it would split and wish it would stick to the rear of the 3rd row seats, maybe i can fasten it to the back of the headrests somehow)
-F106SX 14mm-1.5 Fumoto valve (put one on all the cars)
-cartridge oil fIlters 26320-3CKB0 (pretty stupid from an engineering standpoint vs a regular filter, my subaru has the filter inverted on top of the engine so with that plus a fumoto the oil change is very clean)
-mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic 6.4 to 6.8qt (plus a plastic measuring cup)
-27mm oil filter socket (also stupid that this is needed, 35nm/25.8ft-lb torque spec, 10mm socket for plastic mud guard)

bump...

we believe our SX AWD Telluride showed up in failcat...checking in the "track" thread and contacted the dealer...

anyone know of any other must-have's for this vehicle???

...i already read up on the engine start/stop threads...shutting that feature off each time you drive is going to be a pain...or sticking something in there/turning off auto climate control to disable...

maybe a carplay adapter...need to research further after we drive the car for a while...

Exciting!

The wiper blades seem fine, though I am no enthusiast.

Check out the all-weather cargo mat available in Canada. It can be shipped to the US.

If you want wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, look for an adapter.

I like a case for the key fob to protect it. My Acura's key fob got dropped so many times and looked like hell. I'm convinced that's why it stopped working well despite a fresh battery. I'm looking to avoid that fate with my new key fob. There are plastic, silicone, and leather options out there.

If you plan to black out front or rear emblems, read up on that process and get the supplies. Also, if you plan to put in LED reverse/license plate lights, can buy them ahead of time. Car will come with no mats, unless you ordered... Either check out ebay/Amazon for mats or follow advice above for Canadian cargo mat.

And, sorry to say, the wait gets harder the closer you get.... Good luck!

thanks for the info...

i'm not a car enthusiast either i just want things to be intuitive and efficient...i hate wiper blades that streak or squeak...

i saw the cananda mats and they seem to be a little on the expensive side but i do really like the design...

i'm not well versed on carplay or android auto as we are coming from 2013/2014 cars...we both have iphones at the moment...i'll have to check out the threads on this topic...i'm sure i'll wait till we get the car and run it to see if i need to make any changes...it seems to be something that just shows certain apps on your car infotainment screen so you have access to them, is that correct?

didn't even know they made key fob cases...i'll have to check it out for my wife...if you find a good one that's not too bulky i'd be interested in taking a look

thanks for the info...not looking to do much by the way of cosmetics...mostly function...probably won't black anything out as the car is white...are the led reverse/license plate lights helpful in any way?...yea mats are not included so i plan to buy all weather mats ahead of time

after the tires are gone i may look into replacing the wheels with smaller wheels and bigger tires to provide a more comfortable ride...maybe i can sell the oem wheels here

Right. My previous car is a 2010 so I’m new to CarPlay too. I use it for nav (either Apple Maps or Waze), music, and I like that it reads/replies to text messages if I like. I haven’t explored other compatible apps yet.

So far, I’m okay with plugging in for CarPlay (as opposed to wireless connection). For short trips, I don’t need CarPlay features to be active.

I use a plastic case because the price is right. It does add some bulk. I keep my keys in my bag so the size is immaterial for me. Photo for comparison.

thanks...when you say plugged in do you mean the carplay device is plugged in or your phone is plugged into the carplay device?...if so, does it have to be plugged into the carplay device to work?

thanks...that looks nice...may pick one up for my wife...

Telluride is CarPlay capable by connecting to phone using USB cable. For wireless CarPlay, adapter is connected with USB cable instead so phone uses wifi to communicate with adapter.

thanks so much for clearing that up...so as long as the phone is plugged into that usb port with a cord you can use carplay...the only way to use carplay wirelessly is to plug the adapter into that usb port...got it

while i like technology i really don't like having too many extra electronic features in my cars...i see more electronics as more things that can break which would require a dealer to fix...hence why i run a garmin with traffic antenna and live traffic app in my car...but i also run a radar detector and a dash cam so i have wires all over the place...yea it's ugly and not as clean but i can update them or replace them for cheap...my wife is the complete opposite...she wants all the bells and whistles incorporated into the car...i would be happy if my bluetooth in my car didn't cut out on me...but i really do like the idea of carplay...i hope this car runs for a long time without issues

dealer called yesterday and told us it would be in on the 13th and that they would be in touch soon...i ordered the smart liner mats and toughpro cargo mat on amazon...i should have them before the car is here...i'm waiting to order the oil change parts and the carplay adapter until we get the car and run it a bit

i was thinking of getting a cell phone holder but with carplay it may be a waste of money...probably drive it for a while and decide...it doesn't hurt to do some research beforehand though...does anyone have a cell phone holder that they like which doesn't require any drilling (preferably one that puts the phone up high near the screen so you don't have to look down)?...does anyone find themselves really needing it?

any other "must haves" that i am missing?

is there an infotainment book that is downloadable?...i would like to read up...all i could find on the website was the owners manual, features guide manual and rear seat entertainment manual

also is there anything else included that i should be aware of?...i know the tow package comes with a ball mount kit and a brake controller harness in the glove box

Awhile ago, I found on another Telluride forum with links to 2020 manuals. Shouldn't be much difference between 2020 to 2022 models. May need to join to download.

**Warning** if you see tellurideforum url, change to kiatelluride.

Thanks...I’ll check it out...I downloaded the 3 manuals I could find off the Kia website...just wondering if Kia supplied a hard copy infotainment manual with the car

Yes there a hard copy infotainment manual. It's kinda crap though. You can figure much of it out yourself

Thanks...Is there and electronic version somewhere on the internet?

looks like kia financing is at 1.9% for 60 months or 2.5% for 66 months until 10/4...i can get 0.99% for 36-60 months from my local credit union...does it make more sense to bring your own financing or use kia's and just refinance right after?...pros/cons?

They offer no incentive to finance with them. Bring your own and ask them to match. If they don’t, no skin off.
