What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

While I’m glad to have my Telluride, I had a less than stellar experience at the dealer. I am a Founders Club member. I was told that since I committed to buy the vehicle in March (SXP, Black with Dune Brown and tow package) the deal would be honored. I had an understanding of the cost with the dealer, paid $1000 for them to order the vehicle (which would later be applied during my down payment). Today, when we went to finalize the deal, they would not budge on the cost. $5k over msrp. I felt like they were less than forthcoming with the cost at the time back in March. Pre tax cost was $54k. I don’t care that much about the cost, just don’t like that they jacked up the price due to all this hype. Happy for you guys that scored a much better deal than I did.

Did you agree on a price when the vehicle was ordered?

I did. I also have a signed “contract”, however it does not state a price. It also says that I cannot back out of the deal unless they can’t deliver on the vehicle as promised. Today the sales manager said that wasn’t a contract. Have a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing

I’m sorry man but how do you let someone screw you like that. I know 5k might not be a big deal for you, and I don’t pinch every penny, I’ll spend money when I spend money, but if I feel screwed even for a $ I’ll go fight for my 1$.

Damn, that does sound shady. On the flip side I have a buyers order with a price but it is not signed. I hope they don't get squirrelly with me when mine comes in

It’s more of a supply/demand issue. They said I could back out even though we had a contract. It was a matter of taking the vehicle I’d been waiting for or not. And believe me we went back and forth for a while. He gave me whatever accessories I wanted, but still just feels messed up.

I put this on here so you guys can hopefully lock in a price before ordering. I could have purchased the model I didn’t want back in March, and probably save like $20k. But then I’d have a car I didn’t want.

This sucks. Did you at least get the $2500 in incentives to negate some of the $5k?

Would you have got your deposit back?

I did the 0.9% apr and they gave me the military $400 incentive. Not familiar with anything else other than the $1500 for financing at a higher rate

I assume you got 48 months. For 1.9%, they would have gave you the $1500. There’s another $1k incentive if you own a 2012 or newer car on their list. Or if you have a Kia already.

My newest car was 2011, so no love there... They didn't tell me I could do 1.9% and get the $1500. They said the $1500 was from a Kia and I'd finance at a higher rate, closer to 5%. So I opted 48 months at 0.9%

What market/area are you in? Tons of markets are selling at MSRP. East Texas, Cali, Fla, ATL are all marking the vehicle way up. Some smaller markets are sticking to MSRP

Report them to Kia. They bait/switched you on the order and then lied to you about financing rates.

Geeez I sat at managers desk she keyed everything into the site, told me it came out to 47080, MSRP, she ordered it. No deposit. When they got confirmation from Kia they asked me to drop off a deposit. Thinking this will be completed at MSRP ... But have put a lot of trust in the dealer. Should know in three weeks.

Keep us posted! I went ahead and submitted at complaint through the Kia website about the dealer. Who knows what will happen. Super stoked to have the car, but it's just crazy they'd be willing to put a bad taste in my mouth over $5K.

So my question is...what did you get thrown in in accessories or other for paying over msrp? My dealer already told me they are charging over msrp. What all can I ask for to be thrown in if I am paying a premium. I’m not sure what to demand.

The only thing I didn’t have was all weather mats. They gave that to me. Didn’t really want anything else but they were asking what else I wanted. I appreciated that gesture from the dealer. I already paid for the tow package, and purchased a Thule system.
