• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... November update available for download

Yes really should be a easy update for them to implement. They should of atleast picked a more universal color scheme as well lol.
Agreed. If it is difficult to allow the user to change the theme color, they should've picked a less polarizing color to standardize on.

Still rocking the 14.0 and happy with it with the exception of the fact you cannot reorder the radio presets. Is that still the way things function on the newer software versions or has that been resolved? I may bite the bullet and update if it does allow reordering.

I'm really not into the nuances of what the infotainment system has to offer. I just use it for the same mundane applications. After this update, I would be hard pressed to say I see any real differences from what I use it for. To the point I might want to check the software version to see if it actually upgraded. :sneaky:

Yep. Still not allowed to sort presets. It’s pretty ridiculous. I have to say though the Telluride has many advanced features it is the first new vehicle I bought that seemed to go backwards from an infotainment perspective.

Well that is.. unfortunate to say the least. 14.0 it'll remain.

I would assume/hope the maps are updated? That's the main reason I am updating. I usually use Google Maps , but still use the built in gps sometimes.
I wish mapnsoft would listen to us. I contacted them about how horrible the new home screen is, the radio look is hideous (especially for SiriusXM) and even taking away the preset order. They told me kia/Hyundai instructed them to remove the preset order... Not sure if I'm buying that.

I wonder if there is a department at Kia that could be contacted. I don't expect much but I gather there may be a significant amount of people annoyed by this. I wonder if this stupidity has been propogated across all of Kia's vehicles. If so, it would be cool to organize these different vehicle forums to all reach out and complain to KIa.

It is a map update. So, if you rely on the Telly's map for navigation then you really should update.

People have been crying about this for a year now.

Here’s one place you can vent about it, but you can see how far it’s gotten the complainers.

Here's my take on these infotainment systems. A very high percentage of buyers have either an Android or iPhone. Since they offer both Android Auto(AA) and CarPlay(CP) they don't feel any real pressure to spend R&D resources to compete with these systems. Both Android and Apple want to own the driving usage space and will compete heavily to win it. If I were responsible for Kia's infotainment strategy I would be making sure we provided the industry best AA and CP experience possible (full screen, wireless AA/CP, high res, etc). I would make everything outside of AA and CP configurable (color themes, number of screens, screen and item organization and customization).

Going forward I would make every camera available to view at anytime individually or as preset groups. Every camera would have the ability to function as a DVR storing, with playback, to removable microSD. I would include front and rear "dash cams" with this same capability. Link the DVR to cloud storage when connected to WiFi (home, work or with integrated 5G in the car - configurable of course to meet data limitations). The alarm system would be integrated into the infotainment center as well. Alarm activation would trigger a notification which would allow you to view any camera, allow you to turn on or off lights, audible alarm or even speak directly through a speaker. There's so much that could be done to differientiate your brand through technology.

I agree completely. However, Kia has not only not innovated, but they have actually gone BACKWARDS. That other thread linked on the mapnsoft site is a bit disjointed. It seems like the overall tone is requesting everything reverted. I very much doubt that is going to happen. However, if we could come up with a prioritized list of the preferred improvements to the new UI, they are more likely to be considered. It shouldn't take much to allow the customization of the purple color. Nor should it take much to stop forcing the ordering of the presets. I doubt they are ever going to go back the the triple pane layout as they really seem to have spent some time on that home screen. Less useful, yes? Provides an elegant/premium look to the brand? Yep. What do you think wins out at Kia?

I have a Thanksgiving road trip coming up. I think I’ll do the update on the drive.

Might wanna do it beforehand as you'll be without the infotainment system for at least 1/2 hour during the drive.

Is it me or the "3D View" on the map changed?
I can see a horizon now with the sky/clouds when on this view.

Can anyone that hasn't upgraded confirm?

I don't recall if the previous version had the horizon taking up 1/4 -1/3 portion of the top screen.

Completed the update last night. Did the battery tender/flashers trick, so I didn't have to open the garage and burn fuel. Took about 50 minutes once I plugged the portable USB storage into the car. Don't see much change initially, but I do like that the current address and outside temp is on map side of the home screen. Was annoyed when the current temp widget got removed.

How do you get to this screen?

It's on the UVO menu from the Home screen.

@TheNip73 Is this image 👆 from the 2022 update?

Just completed (20-21) update. No issues with settings getting reset. But I don't think I saw this option on my menu.

Disregard...I found it.

I have not loaded a software version since we picked up the vehicle a year ago. (November, 2020). So, we are talking pre-Barney (purple screen).

Will the latest version (released last week), bring my system up to date, or, do I need to load the April, 2021, update first?

Also, I have read complaints about voice recognition problems with the April update. Was that a widespread problem?

I'm really not into the nuances. Haha this was exactly my point! I do appreciate your eye to detail.
