What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

Mid-model year price increases are live on the Kia website. Looks like a $300 increase for the car, $30 increase for destination, and was AWD $1700 instead of $1900? Just fork kicks, I configured my car with the updated prices (I just beat the ‘21 mid-model year increase), and it’s $1325 more now.

Zoinks…

We got tired of the Florida dealers adding adjustments and fees to the MSRP and not wanting to negotiate. We found this forum and found Kia of Muncie and got our Costco pricing $1000 under MSRP. Reach out to Lucas.
So when going through Costco no dealers in JAX will sell at MSRP?

I had just beat it at the end of December then I decided I wanted Dune Brown seats and thus had to pay the increase while also losing the illuminated scuff plates smh.

Ergo why I used all my investigative skills to find alternative dealerships. Jax dealers wanted to tack on between $5k-&10k in 2019. It looks like they have come down a little since then. Just $5k-$8k this year. They were willing to negotiate but, it would still be above MSRP. Forced profit above their invoice price.

If you ordered prior to price increase, dealer should charge you pre-hike price. Thats what happened to me last yr.

I'm curious if lending institutions are financing these vehicles with inflated prices?

Here in SoCal, paid 58k out the door including tax, license, finance charge, forced dealer accessories and nightfall edition upgrade for our 2022 Telluride EX Pear White Nightfall Edition

The markups are what hurt the most but other friends I talked to paid a little bit more than what I did for their EX.

Welcome, and enjoy the car. But, with all due respect, I think my heart just stopped. That is a lot for an EX, even with the premium and nightfall packages.

I know. It is crazy over here with how low the supply is. I had a friend even show me at their dealership the general supply of all available Telluride coming in at each dealership. :(

Lesson I learned long ago....happy wife, happy life. She doesnt mind the payments so, all that matters. lol

I will watch this from the sidelines. I'm not desperate.

depends... if they're planning to keep this for the long haul, then one could argue the stress of not having to continue to look or wait is worth the price. Personally, I wouldn't pay those kind of markups but to each their own. Everyone has different situations and for someone who needs or wants the car it could make sense.

Yep...driving this to the ground and financially, we are ok with the price and its within our means. We are paying down like 25k on the car this month.

The dilemma of “placed my order for the Telly at MSRP and wait 5-8 months” or “pay $4,500 over MSRP and have it next week”…. I left the dealership with a deposit and I get 24 hours when it arrives to close the deal before it goes back up. It’s the exact one I ordered but they lowered the original 10k markup to 4,500. Said the local prices called for it. Would not budge off this “final markdown”. It’s still 11 days from eta! The responsible side is saying never pay over mark up and the child is saying I want now…. I got 11 days to play this game.

Can’t speak to your situation and how badly you want / need the car but other people here have regretted paying over sticker after a few months. My personal opinion is, if you’re keeping it for a while then it could be worth it. I had a limit in my head of 2-3 k over is the most I was willing to pay. I don’t think there a right or wrong answer here. Just what makes sense for you

Agreed. If you can afford it and know the price going in, no need to complain.

So I was thinking 2-3 but then I go am I really going to miss out on this for 2k? Ugh

well originally i wasn't willing to pay anything over sticker and that was a personal choice. My thinking was if I could get sticker, why would I pay more. We ordered in August and the dealer had said 3-4 months. When we called in November, he said it was going to be more like 6 months. I spoke to the GM and he said def not getting it before March at which point I placed an order with i25 and decided that i'll pay the 2k-ish shipping because at least I would get the car sooner. Im glad I did because I called recently and now they're saying May. Realistically, I'm going to cancel my order once my other order is on the way. We have a baby on the way and are planning to move to the suburbs so definitely need a car now. Point is, you can easily justify any cost but as circumstances change so does your price tolerance. If you told me back in June when we first started looking at cars, I would pay over sticker I would have told you that you're out of your mind. Now, here we are 6 months later and we're essentially paying over sticker and Im ok with it. As someone said, if you can afford it and are set on this car then go for it but don't stretch yourself too thin because youre just being impatient.

One thing to keep in mind too is that if you wait 5 months, you'll be getting the 2023 most likely. Idk what it looks like, but someone had mentioned they change the headlights. Could be worth being one of the first people with the 2023 from a resale perspective

2022 TELLURIDE EX V6 AWD
  • Glacial White
  • EX Premium Package (Captain's Chairs, 20" Rims, LED Headlamps)
  • Towing Package
  • Carpet Mats
MSRP $44,210 ($1,225 Freight & Handling)
Agreed to a $4000 markup before negotiation
Total Price $48,000

Paid $5K down with ~$11K trade-in value
Got all the warranties since its my first KIA and I am terrified of all the internal components and the low profile tire durability (GAP, Tire/Rim, Bumper to Bumper) which bumped up my monthly payment by $68 for 72 years (~$5K)

All in all my monthly payment is $659
Feel like I am overpaying somehow still but very happy with my purchase
Went from a 2019 RAV4 XLE to a 2022 Kia Telluride EX and am paying $250 extra / month
Did I do alright or did I get hosed?
