What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

Yesterday I paid $19k on a 2022 Prestige Nightfall with towing while trading in my 3 year old 2020 Prestige with 57,000 miles on it. I don’t like paying over sticker but I am happy with this deal in the current environment.
Not to nitpick here but this isn’t really a true statement. You didn’t pay $19k. You paid $19k on top of the value of your trade. You should still consider the money you spent on your original 2020 or what you would have gotten on a private sale as part of the deal.

Thanks for the info I didn’t think I needed to fill in on this forum. I assumed everyone could understand that the deal was $19k plus my trade in. It’s a totally true statement! The thread is what did you pay for your Telluride. No other details needed unless someone asks me a question.

....figured I'd ask some questions. (if you're ok sharing. If not, that's cool)
  1. What did you originally pay for your 2020 Telluride?
  2. What did the dealer offer you for the 2020 Telluride?
  3. Did you owe any money on the 2020 Telluride?
  4. If so, did you wrap the remaining balance into your 2022 Teluride purchase?
  5. What was the total "out the door" price of the deal before subtracting the credit for your trade?

Thanks.
Enjoy the ride

paid sticker of $46,905 on the 2020
trade in of $44,550, was paid in full
total out the door price of $63,550
social security #- LOL

Lest anyone think that I believe I got the greatest deal ever, I’m sure I didn’t. I made a deal on a car that was available right away and I am happy with it. Should be all that matters. I posted here just to inform others what is out there for a trade in deal on 2022 Nightfall with a 2020 Prestige trade.

Ordered our 2022 SX P AWD in August 2021 with $1K deposit and agreement for MSRP. Delivered August 2022 at MSRP exactly as promised. We were nervous about possible dealer antics based on just how much the market adjustments have stayed/increased over the last 12 months, but had none of that.

Aside from the 1 year wait... which seems to be quite common in many cases, it was a good experience.

Received our 2022 Telluride S AWD after 10 months, purchased at MSRP and couldn't be happier. We ordered from Hendrick Kia in Cary, NC and at the time it was MSRP but since then they've added on a mandatory package that costs a few $k additional for purchases after 2021. I was concerned they wouldn't honor the original agreement since it was essentially a handshake agreement but they did and I got it at MSRP. I highly recommend to purchase through this dealership although I don't like the fact they've added on a mandatory package of additional options for new purchases. I worked with Micky Toskic and he did me right.

You will love this vehicle, it drives very well, comparable to a land rover.

Bought on Saturday 09/03/2022
2022 Kia Telluride EX FWD in Gravity Grey- manufactured Aug 22, 2022 - MSRP on sticker = $39,955.
Began shopping 3 weeks ago for a Telluride, Explorer, or Pathfinder. Wife and I test drove all 3 and decided on the Telluride. Didn't want the EX Premium Package because we wanted the 2nd row bench and not Captians chairs.
Found 3 in that configuration on the lot at a Kia dealer in SC and drove 1 hour and 15 minutes from NC to see them. 2 were Everlasting Silver and the grey one we bought.
Dealer had all 3 marked up to $53,920 to include dealer installed equipment, resist all interior protection, and limited inventory market adjustment.
Dealer installed equipment included:
Mud Guards
Nitrogen filled tires
Wheel locks
Protective film
Windows tinted
All weather floor mats
Cross bars on roof
Running boards
I traded in a higher mileage 2017 Ford Edge SEL that I still owed $14,500 on. They gave me $16K.
I argued the Limited inventory market adjustment since there were three sitting side by side and started haggling. I also told them to knock off $1k and remove the Cross Bars and Running Boards cause I didn't want them and that's what they cost to add them when you build one on the Kia website. They removed them and dropped another $1K.
Eventually settled on $43,700 out the door including all taxes and fees and drove it home. I feel like we did pretty good and the Wife is REALLY happy with her new ride!

I picked up a customer's canceled order for a 2022 SX-P NF at MSRP from Freedom Kia in Morgantown, WV. I had originally ordered and placed a $1000 deposit on a Carnival. Placed order on June 14 and picked up on September 10.

Bought a Telluride EX this week. Sticker of $44k plus the usual $7k-$10k market adjustment added on top. When all was said and done, got it for less than $2k over sticker with some dealer extras thrown in. Drove it off the lot.

Just posting to give hope to some people who have dealers with high market adjustments out there. It never hurts to ask and you might be surprised.

Looking to buy a 2023 SX-Prestige X-Pro. I’m willing to pay MSRP but I refuse to pay any added addendum markups. In the last six months I’ve bought a new RX450h, Camry XSE V6 and a new Mustang GT and have paid no addendums. Anyone know of dealers east of say Ohio that are selling without addendums? Until we quit paying they will keep asking. Shoot, I’ll buy another Lexus for MSRP before I will pay an addendum on one of these. Thanks.

You couldn’t get that deal today! Talked to Micky this morning. Bought a Forte from him just over a year ago. Addendums on the Tulluride are now $6400 on dealer inventory and $2400 on orders that are taking14 mos lead time.

I like this strategy. Only I’m gonna tell them 6K under invoice.

Actually my real strategy is to wait a few months until real discounts (and the Palisade, which I’m also seriously considering) appear. Then I’m gonna search Auto Trader/Car Gurus for the lowest price in the country and ask a local dealer to beat the price.

My goal is 41K max for an SX Prestige (hey, that’s 6K under sticker!), maybe 42.5 for whatever the all-in Palisade is.

Was considering the Palisade as well and thought I liked the interior more than the Telluride. Telluride had the nicer exterior though. Might be a dumb question: Is the Palisade cheaper? If so, why is that?

There should not be any markups on orders period! If a dealer is doing that then they are crooked. You have to wait 6 to 14 months already so your already inconvenienced.

I think it depends on what trim level you want and what's important to you. For example, I really wanted leather seats, which are available on the Telluride EX. For the Palisade, I'd have to go with a Limited with a MSRP of $4k+ more. (And I didn't like the beige steering wheel on the Palsiade or the push button gear shift).

So, unless we know what trims you are looking at, it's really apples to oranges on features, even thought they are basically the same car under the hood. Where I am, both dealers were adding addendums but Hyundai was willing to waive theirs while Kia was not. However, I would have still paid more for the Palisade than I did for my EX due to the higher MSRP.

Since the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are all under the same umbrella I look at them as Chevrolet/Buick/Cadillacs. The Kia is more upscale than the Hyundai and the Genesis is higher quality than either. When you build a Palisade Calligraphy (top of the line) you will see it is much less than a top of the line Telluride.

More like Kia is Hyundai’s “sporty” division, like Pontiac was for GM. And Genesis is the luxury brand, as you said, like Lexus for Toyota, Acura for Honda, Audi for VW, etc.

Factory MSRP for ‘23 SX fwd is 45,490
45,490 + 495 (white ext) + 1335 (destination) + tax (in NJ add’l 0.4% luxury tax) + dealer doc fees + dmv reg = ~52k (closer to I think 52.3K but don’t have final invoice in front of me)

Which dealer did you order from? The only dealer I know of in NJ charging MSRP is Nutley Kia, and you mentioned South Jersey. I’m dying to know if there’s another dealer in the state charging MSRP!

Sorry to be clear think when I last calc’d I did technically pay over dealer MSRP but still was only about +$900
I’d recommend also using Edmunds price checker. When I checked my OTD it was rated peak “great” deal
