Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I got a 23 Tellu, SX-Line in Wolf Gray fron Coral Springs KIA (South Florida were I live). And it was a great, hassle free experience. I was shopping around via email and quotes came with lots of extra $$$ on each part of the deal. At least in FL, MSRP is one thing then OTD (Out the Door ) price is another one, and they can jump left and right with those numbers from MSRP to OTD which is what matters at the end of the day and deal.
Coral Springs KIA responded to my emails promptly and very professionally, we agreed on a price (they accepted my offer via email) and I went to pick up the car. I highly recommend them
I’d never buy a vehicle in FL. Docs are $999 unless dealer lowered sale price to compensate that bend over please charge ! Good luck & Congrats

Good for you, I was ready to get it out of state but got a great deal on the car I wanted for almost the same I would on a cross state trip to get it

Anyone have any recommendations for a dealer in Northern VA? I've been in contact with multiple in this area, keep getting egregious markups or added extras. It's starting to seem like MSRP is not possible for this region:mad:
i tried for a while. i ended up going with Hart in Salem, VA. msrp and no other add-ons either. not ideal, but i'm not paying 3-5K markup that's everywhere in Nova. i'll deal with the 2-3 hr trip ;p

I had a very good experience with Scott Kia of Springfield, PA. Though I waited 4 months, they were very good to deal with and made the buying experience as pleasant as buying a car can be. . .

Are they still charging 4k for "Scott protection package"? Because that's a no-deal for me....

Had an amazing experience with Rachel Braun at Ft. Collins Kia in Ft. Collins, CO, this past weekend!

My family and I live in a rural mountain town in Colorado. Once we decided we wanted a Telluride, we started with a test drive at Red Rock Kia in Grand Junction, CO (about a 1.5 hour drive away) in August 2022. That test drive went well, but the dealership was charging $10K over MSRP.

Later that same month, after finding Fowler Kia in Longmont, CO via this forum, we put down a $500 refundable deposit on a '22 SX-P with Nightfall, White exterior, Dune Brown interior. Unsurprisingly, they asked us to update our order to a '23 in October. When they first made this request, there was no information on pricing and corresponding trim levels, so we waited until that was available. We updating our order in November 2022.

Flash forward to March 2023 and after months of watching Failcat like a hawk for our order ('23 SX-P X-Line, White/Terracotta), Fowler couldn't provide any substantial updates. We were trying to make summer road trip plans and with our Subaru Impreza quickly outgrowing our family of four, we felt we needed to move quickly.

Via Failcat, I found the exact model/trim/color at Ft. Collins Kia (about a 4 hour drive), at MSRP and decided to make a call. The car on their site was reserved, but Rachel let me know that they had the exact same Telluride available, due to their lot late April/early May. We agreed to purchase it and received our refund from Fowler.

In less than two weeks, Rachel called to let us know that someone had backed out of the car on their lot, and it was ours, if we wanted it. After some back and forth with their finance department (to be expected, given interest rates right now), we picked it up! We actually sold our car to Carvana in Denver (smooth experience), and Rachel sent Cameron from their dealership to pick us up in Denver for the drive to Ft. Collins.

We were in and out of the dealership in less than two hours. Having not test drove or even seen a '23 in-person, we are thrilled with our purchase and experience! Rachel was amazing to work with and over communicative (something that frustrated me with at other dealerships were the lack of updates). Not sure about other '23 trim levels, but the X-Line seems to sit higher, which I really like as well.

No buyer's remorse here! So happy to be in the car we desired.

Nice! I'm glad to hear it went so smoothly as I have an order in with Seth at Arapahoe. What trim package did you go with? I ordered on 12/06 and still don't have a VIN...

SX-P moss green

The only issue is they dont take outside financing and set me up with 8.79% at Ally. I refinanced immidiately with my CU at 3.24%.

Yeah Seth has mentioned that to me although they’ll take USAA or Navy Fed outside. What CU do you have that you got 3.24%?

Yikes - 8.79% is not good. Is that actually the best they could do? I'm assuming you have good credit. Seth has posted on reddit that they work with all major banks and if you have preapproval to let him know. May buy from Arapahoe this summer but that's going to be a huge turnoff for me if they rip you off on financing.

yeah even the salesperson Rima todl me that they cant meet our rates but there is no penalty to refinance and so I did that.

Safford Brown Manassas. Just say you won't pay the dealer adjustment, they'll drop it. I was going to order through them a few weeks ago, at MSRP -$1000, but found the car I was looking for in Maryland. One issue is the "documentation fee" around here: $899 - $949! In Maryland my doc fee was _only_ $499. I explored a dealership in OH, whose doc fees were $265/$285. That cost difference alone would pay for shipping the car to NoVA.

2023 SX-P X-Line Purchased 2/1/23
Exterior: Black
Interior: Black + Terracotta Package
Location: Carpros Kia Glendale (Los Angeles County, CA)

MSRP $54,325
MARKUP. $800
SUBTOTAL PRICE $55,125
REGISTRATION $663.31
DOCUMENTATION $85
CA TAXES $4,272.19
TOTAL $60,145.50

Final out-the-door was a bit lower thanks to a last minute negotiation: markup lowered by $400, in return for agreeing to buy a $400 maintenance package which covers all oil changes for first 2 years and any routine maintenance. This actually lowered total tax obligation by 8% of $400 also! Cool!

Half downpayment / half borrowed at 2.99% for 48 months (Tower FCU)

Who was your point of contact? I reached out to them few days ago regarding one I liked.
If you dont mind sharing name/ number via DM

I have had some really crappy customer experience the past few months with various businesses! I usually light them up on Twitter to get my issue resolved. Finally someone came through with 5 star service! Fairfax Kia came through! I thought I was going to be waiting 2-5 months for my order for a Kia Telluride. I know folks had been waiting 6 months or longer! It came in 28 days but the customer service after delivery is what really mattered. I knew going in I would pay MSRP on the factory order but they weren’t pushy when I said no to extras. Boris Castro was my salesperson.

I've been taking my Telluride to Scott for service; they are much closer than Raceway (purchased there when they were Murray and didn't add a mark up). I've had reasonably good experience with them but they are still marking up their Tellurides. They have become a bit more reasonable though and the infamous Scott Protection Package that used to be $10k is now "only" $3,500.

I frankly don't know if there is a dealer in the Philly/Delval/SouthJersey area selling at MSRP, which is why my next Telluride is likely to be a Pallisade.

Yeah, that's my plan as well, Scott is my closest dealer for service. The other dealer in Abington got bought out by Matt Blatt, so there's nobody at MSRP at this time. However, tides are slowly turning, I figure by the time I'm ready to update in a few years, we should be much closer to normal.
