What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I just got an email from a dealer (McGrath Arlington Kia) with 'internet prices' of $2400 off MSRP on each trim level (no SX in their list yet, tho).

I just checked their website and the fine print says he's including $400 military, $1000 loyalty, and $1000 competitive bonus program. Shady advertising really although someone could actually qualify for all of those.

Most lenders have a $400 or so fee associated with a refi to a finance but it is highly negotiable, especially if you are staying with that particular company, IE. Hyundai/Kia Leasing to Hyundai/Kia Finance.
Ahhhh good info!!! That’s been where my hang up is. The only reason I would lease is for the discounts but I wouldn’t want to stay in a lease. Thanks so much!

Hi. I trying to get Telluride S. But dealer seen not going to do any discounts on this new telluride. So sicks. I bought a hyhundai kona half year ago stivker price was $23k. They was able to take 2k+ off. So what u guys think if I get S model stivker price at $35.5k, what is the max amount they should be discounts. Any idea. Really dont feel like to pay full stivker price when u buying a new car.

You can get p to 2900 off with 1000 (loyalty or competitive), 400 military, and 1500 finance cash at a less than stellar interest rate.

Ok.....I found a dealer quoting $3700 off the EX FWD (sale price $34,644) but he is out of state and when I asked for a quote he didn't send me an actual quote, he sent me a typed response as follows:

Here is a breakdown of the qoute:

37,144.00------------------------------sales price
598.00-------------------------------documentation fee
(1,500.00)------------------------------rebate(must finance with kia to receive)
(1,000.00)------------------------------rebate(must own competive vehicle/must have current registration card in buyers name)

taxes unknown at this point
tag fee also unknown at this point

Now maybe my expectations are too high? By profession I deal with contract negotiations, proposals quotes and SOWs all day every day so this is almost disrespectful to me, lol! To me this isn't a formal quote. It doesn't reference stock # or VIN. The way it's typed is confusing and doesn't specify what the price is after the rebates and dealer fees are applied and I just don't do business in this way and this isn't the first time I'm having this issue which makes me think this pricing isn't really what it seems. Mind you, I would be doing this as a long distance transaction so documentation is critical. I'm just getting a bit frustrated with this whole process because I feel like every dealer I've dealt with has given me bits of info at a time and I have to push for transparency and many have even stopped responding when I asked for basic things like quotes. I have never had this experience in car shopping before but I have also never owned a Kia either. I love this car, but if this is indicative of what dealing with their service side is like i'm a bit nervous about getting this car.

I'm in GA. Can anyone recommend a good, NO BS dealer. I don't expect them to lay all their cards out. I can respect and handle the negotiation process. But I mean seriously I can't even get a real quote and I've already done a test drive so I'm not going in to sit and talk about pricing.

Two dealers in a row flat out lied about their inventory to get me into the showroom. They both tell me they are taking orders all day and it’s been crazy. But I ask myself if they were that busy taking orders why would they be willing to waste their time meeting me in a showroom to look at a car that do not have. I have been working with another dealer who has inventory but he is a bit farther away so I want to talk price before I drive out there but he is extremely vague on whether it will be at, above or below MSRP. I am going to give up until May 1st. Hopefully Kia does not lose this customer

1.9% is bad? I thought that seemed fair but I honestly haven't looked around.

I mean no disrespect, so please take no offense. You are going about this all wrong. Your perspective is backward, Economics 101:

The price on anything is an offer to sell at that price. You must then decide if you will meet that offer or not. Don’t expect the dealer to cut their own legs out form under themselves by giving you another offer before you’ve given your counter offer. You may chose to pay more or less. Most want to pay less, so we will go that route, YOU decide what you are willing to pay. Make your counter-offer.

You know what the dealer paid. It is known as invoice. Start there by making that your counter-offer.

Rebates and incentives are from Kia. They are not part of the price. Once you and the dealer agree in writing on the price you will pay, rebates come off that price.

Here is the bottom line. You work hard for your dollar and the dealer wants it. The value of the dollar is well known: it is a dollar, no more and no less.

The value of the vehicle is not known. It’s value is different to each of us. When you decide what you will pay, you’ve decided on its value to you. Stick to it and pay not a penny more. Walk away from the deal if you must, but do not waiver.

The salesperson will act like they want to keep the vehicle on the lot until someone meets their offer price. That is pure bull. Every day that vehicle remains unsold it cost them money PLUS the vehicle declines in Value
: depreciation, They want to sell it!!

DO NOT GIVE THE DEALER CONTROL. You are in control. You have what they want. The dollar. Make them earn it.

I’ve purchased over 100 autos in my day and I’ve taught buying classes for years.

Best to each of you. Now, go hunting and bring home your bounty!!!!

This makes sense. But my issue was I couldn't get the true offer. Finally I get an email and incentives are included in their supposed "sale price" and the discount that is included is padded into the price so I can't truly tell if it's a dealer discount or something else. So while I do agree with countering, if they aren't transparent about what their offer to sell consists of in the first place how is this possible? I would waste all day negotiating on something that already has incentives included. I'm familiar with the car buying process as far as buying new or used directly from the lot, but without some transparency from the dealer it becomes very drawn out with little progress being made.

Skip that dealer and move on. However, if you don't do this in person, you are nothing more than another random caller and likely waste of time.

Maybe just figure out what invoice is and state the price you're willing to pay - to several dealers - and respond to the one that comes closest to the deal you need...

I'm going through this same crap. I asked for their bottom dollar, out the door before incentives and they give me the run-around, and one dealer included the incentives as their sale price too. I told them from the start, I've got 5 dealers and whoever has the lowest price gets my business. I know what invoice is on these but at least in my area, they are selling at MSRP or even marked up. They don't even give me a starting point to negotiate basically because they want to be vague. I don't have the luxury of walking because I totaled my current SUV and have to replace it. I can go about 2 months but I have to get something by then.

You are currently dealing with scarcity. Within two months, supply and demand will be much closer to equilibrium. Be patient, but persistent.

Ugh, I know that just makes it even more frustrating. I'm hoping something comes up for you soon. @mrmac is right, i'll probably keep getting the run around trying to search in places I can't sit down face to face in, but I'll gladly share deals as I see them if someone else might want to check it out. I will keep looking but may potentially wait this out a little longer to see if actual dealer discounts start popping up. Maybe closer to Memorial Day? We shall see.

What are y'all seeing in terms of sticker price reduction/where are y'all finding invoice price.

Wow, it's very impressive deal. Can you share your sales person? I am not live in PA, but if I can get your price I am willing to buy there.
ill message you his number and name!

never mind youre a guest his name is enndy (n-d) at kia on the blvd his cell is (215)251-8510
