I just got an email from a dealer (McGrath Arlington Kia) with 'internet prices' of $2400 off MSRP on each trim level (no SX in their list yet, tho).
I just checked their website and the fine print says he's including $400 military, $1000 loyalty, and $1000 competitive bonus program. Shady advertising really although someone could actually qualify for all of those.I just got an email from a dealer (McGrath Arlington Kia) with 'internet prices' of $2400 off MSRP on each trim level (no SX in their list yet, tho).

Ahhhh good info!!! That’s been where my hang up is. The only reason I would lease is for the discounts but I wouldn’t want to stay in a lease. Thanks so much! Most lenders have a $400 or so fee associated with a refi to a finance but it is highly negotiable, especially if you are staying with that particular company, IE. Hyundai/Kia Leasing to Hyundai/Kia Finance.
Then they definitely are shady! No, you can't qualify for all of those as you can only use one of the two, either the loyalty or conquest, but not both.
1.9% is bad? I thought that seemed fair but I honestly haven't looked around. You can get p to 2900 off with 1000 (loyalty or competitive), 400 military, and 1500 finance cash at a less than stellar interest rate.
This makes sense. But my issue was I couldn't get the true offer. Finally I get an email and incentives are included in their supposed "sale price" and the discount that is included is padded into the price so I can't truly tell if it's a dealer discount or something else. So while I do agree with countering, if they aren't transparent about what their offer to sell consists of in the first place how is this possible? I would waste all day negotiating on something that already has incentives included. I'm familiar with the car buying process as far as buying new or used directly from the lot, but without some transparency from the dealer it becomes very drawn out with little progress being made.I mean no disrespect, so please take no offense. You are going about this all wrong. Your perspective is backward, Economics 101:
The price on anything is an offer to sell at that price. You must then decide if you will meet that offer or not. Don’t expect the dealer to cut their own legs out form under themselves by giving you another offer before you’ve given your counter offer. You may chose to pay more or less. Most want to pay less, so we will go that route, YOU decide what you are willing to pay. Make your counter-offer.
You know what the dealer paid. It is known as invoice. Start there by making that your counter-offer.
Rebates and incentives are from Kia. They are not part of the price. Once you and the dealer agree in writing on the price you will pay, rebates come off that price.
Here is the bottom line. You work hard for your dollar and the dealer wants it. The value of the dollar is well known: it is a dollar, no more and no less.
The value of the vehicle is not known. It’s value is different to each of us. When you decide what you will pay, you’ve decided on its value to you. Stick to it and pay not a penny more. Walk away from the deal if you must, but do not waiver.
The salesperson will act like they want to keep the vehicle on the lot until someone meets their offer price. That is pure bull. Every day that vehicle remains unsold it cost them money PLUS the vehicle declines in Value
: depreciation, They want to sell it!!
DO NOT GIVE THE DEALER CONTROL. You are in control. You have what they want. The dollar. Make them earn it.
I’ve purchased over 100 autos in my day and I’ve taught buying classes for years.
Best to each of you. Now, go hunting and bring home your bounty!!!!

Maybe just figure out what invoice is and state the price you're willing to pay - to several dealers - and respond to the one that comes closest to the deal you need...This makes sense. I'm going through this same crap. I asked for their bottom dollar, out the door before incentives and they give me the run-around, and one dealer included the incentives as their sale price too. I told them from the start, I've got 5 dealers and whoever has the lowest price gets my business. I know what invoice is on these but at least in my area, they are selling at MSRP or even marked up. They don't even give me a starting point to negotiate basically because they want to be vague. I don't have the luxury of walking because I totaled my current SUV and have to replace it. I can go about 2 months but I have to get something by then. This makes sense. But my issue was I couldn't get the true offer. Ugh, I know that just makes it even more frustrating. I'm hoping something comes up for you soon. @mrmac is right, i'll probably keep getting the run around trying to search in places I can't sit down face to face in, but I'll gladly share deals as I see them if someone else might want to check it out. I will keep looking but may potentially wait this out a little longer to see if actual dealer discounts start popping up. Maybe closer to Memorial Day? We shall see.I'm going through this same crap. ill message you his number and name!Wow, it's very impressive deal. Can you share your sales person? I am not live in PA, but if I can get your price I am willing to buy there.
