If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Bad Dealer Dealings - List Your Bad Dealer Experience

Southwest Kia of Austin did not honor my SX order. Claim that the previous employees placed the order in their old system and somehow it was not transfer to the new system.... Of course they don't want to sell it to me at msrp if they can easily sell it with markup. I can't see myself paying anything at, let alone above MSRP.

Sorry about your experience. Yes, they are not a dealership to be trusted. Just search the forum for their dealership name. Many of us have had bad experiences with them. Sorry... enjoy the Palisade.

Hey @ottoSXP - take note. Remember what we said a while back in the other thread...

You are not the first I heard of them letting customer order and wait and then try to sell above MSRP ... sorry about them.

This has been ongoing since Telluride caught fire.

Mine is Kia of Irvine. I bought a car from them the end of December and was told it would be in January 30th at the latest. I was told the vin was already in place so the car was already built and merely needed to be shipped and may very well arrive early. Attached are the exchanges between myself and the dealership. Look at the time stamps between messages. Am I being unreasonable or is this completely unacceptable? I feel like as soon as I signed on the dotted line they acted like I was completely unimportant and everytime I'm told that I will receive information I get absolutely nothing.

You ordered in December and want it in January?

The car already existed and was incoming stock, I was given a vin and actually purchased the vehicle. Not ordered. I was told it would be in by January 30th by the latest.

How could you purchase before it arrived or why would you even do that? Too many issues can happen. You don't purchase until it's on the ground.

Cool thanks man that really helps me out a lot?? Appreciate your constructive criticism, when I purchase another vehicle in 8-10 years I'll keep that in mind.

I'm being serious. If something happened to the vehicle, transporter gets in an accident, you are telling me you already signed paperwork for it and it's not here yet? You own it as of today?

I don’t that is the issue(if bought before the car arrived) .. it’s communication that is the issue. The Telluride should be in a status. At this point is should be either in TN status(transit tending meaning about to be shipped and just waiting for truck) IT status which means physically en route to dealer and can show up any day or DS status which is dealer stock which it is yet to be in.

give me the vin number and I will check right now on my home computer for you

Yes, that is correct. It was exactly what I wanted, there were 4 other dealerships and none of them had the incoming stock I wanted. I didn't want to order and wait God knows how long. I had a carmax offer that was about to expire and I didn't want to go through that again and they were the only dealer that offered to match it near me. I didn't see a difference of putting a down payment or just purchasing it and getting the paperwork done? I have full insurance and I wasn't concerned with it being wrecked in transport tbh. I don't quite get why that is so insane to you...

Bingo, I'm not concerned about buying it before hand, that was my choice and I had my reasons. It honestly isn't a huge deal to me, other than it crashing in transport I don't see the issue.

Kia of Temecula S model Gravity Gray with black interior... it is In transit so dealer is being accurate.. can show up any day..

***in system looks like it takes a while in transit... showing ETA of 02-13... I don’t know how accurate that is as I’m not a Cali dealer. In Texas when it goeS in transit status it can show up in 24-48 hours

Except my dealer didn't give me a date and merely responded it is delayed with no other info . What you just did is what I haven't been able to get in days/weeks. Wish I could do it over and go through you man. Kia Temecula and kia Irvine are not linked so I am perplexed why it says kia of Temecula?

Me personally... I'd never do it but do as you wish. We had Tellurides #2-4 get banged up by a rookie transport driver. Two of those were sold. We asked our customers if they would like to re-order or have repaired? So if they had bought, signed paperwork, insured the vehicle and it shows up damaged and they want to back out its quite a process to unwind the deal that has been funded or created. Some dealers might even be like... Not my problem, you own it. Just too many wild scenarios that could happen. I've heard everything on this forum. The good, the bad and the ugly. Best of luck with your order. I hope it arrives soon for you as promised.

Double check vin number if the stores aren’t affiliated

Hey man no offense, but all you have done is criticize a decision that cannot be undone and offered no support. Clearly there is nothing I can do and you think my decision is dumb.. You've made that clear. I hope you feel fulfilled in letting me know what a poor decision I've made. Meanwhile Stephen has gone out of his way to help remedy the issue and actually assisted in providing me with valuable information.

I never said dumb.... Not once. I simply explained what could happen. I'm happy you got the information you were looking for. Congratulations.
