Dude, you dumb. Doesn't matter what others post. That VIN you posted ain't bound for Irvine. Irvine has screwed many a customer here on the forum. Quit pestering other dealers and march into Irvine tomorrow to find your Telluride. They obviously doctored the window sticker when they sent you a printout. Like be smart, not stupid. There are a lot of resources. If you bought that VIN, then it's in Temecula. Seriously bro. You can do better. Call KIA consumer affairs, not us.

69537 or whatever it is ain't yours. It was produced last month! Irvine lies, people whine. Maybe the VIN Stephen sent. But if they claimed to sell you the earlier VIN, and you didn't run through KIA's system, your fault.

P.S.- I hope I sounded valley girl enough for you.
I didn't 'call' anyone and the only reason I even know any of this info is because I 'pestered' people on here. I legitimately don't understand people's need to boast with this superiority complex. I have reasons for why I did this the way I did, you may disagree with them and that is fine, but what the hell is this need to be so high and mighty? I only respond on posts to help people, I would never respond to be disparaging or insulting. We share a common hobby, this is supposed to be a place where people are cool to each other. Instead call me dumb and that I'm pestering and all this crap. Either bring something helpful to the table and be cool or keep scrolling. What does it say about you as a person that you need to interject simply to insult someone personally that you don't know because you disagree with their car buying decisions.

You're welcome. Now, go find your Telluride. I mean who leaves $40k with a dealer!? I had a dealer tell me he could do something for me if I paid for the vehicle in advance... a cash deal near $50k... I laughed and ran. Many Kia dealership owners are scam artists. It ain't like buying an Audi.

And why are you coming here for help? Don't buy it a bit. You have a VIN you supposedly purchased. Get it. It was built in December. You have all info from kia.com. and forum members.
Did you read the screen shots where I repeatedly asked for updates? I am an easy going guy and don't railroad people into submission. I wasn't stressing on it, not out of stupidity, I choose not to immediately assume everyone in the world sucks. I don't want to live my life that way. They have been inept so I utilized other resources to get information to cross reference it with what the dealer was saying. I'm glad you're so brilliant and wise, in the future I will let you make all car buying choices for me so I will never have a problem again 👍.

@bgn8711 This entire story is EXACTLY why you don't purchase a vehicle before it is on the ground, in dealer stock. Place an order, put down a deposit, but why take the chance and put yourself through this type of situation. That being said, what's done is done. Now, as others have stated, go find your Telluride by contacting your dealer, the Temecula dealer, Kia customer affairs, whoever...but you need to stop pestering and patronizing those on this forum that go above and beyond and way out of their way to help others. This forum is a great place to find help and a plethora of information about the Telluride. I wish you the best of luck securing your Telluride and hope you come back to learn and share about yours.

I just called and asked to speak with a manager, he said he couldn't get the kia website to load and would have to call me in the morning. This seems ridiculous to me...
Couldn't get to load..... Translates to first lie of the evening. If you paid for a vin it should be yours. Unless total breakdown of communication and they sold that Telluride to someone else.

Dude I'm starting to hate this forum, how am I pestering and patronizing others?? By standing up for myself? The only person who actually tried to help or was inconvenienced in anyway is Stephen, so apologies to him. Otherwise it is basically a bunch of people piling on to personally insult me or continue to be negative about my decision. They didn't have to post, I didn't ask for their advice. I have people literally responding 'you dumb', but I'm the person pestering? I didn't realize this thread was titled personal life advice.

Kia of Irvine has been horrendous, regardless of whether you personally think I should have bought the car ahead of time! If it wasn't for this forum they would have taken my sold vehicle and allowed it to be sold by someone else? That doesn't constitute a bad dealership experience? They shouldn't communicate or stand by their word? If you say it is because they're snakes and can't be trusted, my response is that this is where we post about such places so others can avoid them! Plus what are you bringing to the table? Why do you need to post at all? I was done posting as I got the information I needed, which by the way may save my vehicle from going to someone else. Everything you've said has been said by others, other than taking the time to throw another personal dig in, which is completely unfounded.

@bgn8711, You are right, my comments are unfounded. I sincerely apologize to you and I do hope that you are able to get your Telluride as soon as possible and enjoy it. All the best.
Thank you man, I really appreciate that. I have never had a bad car buying experience in my life so this is new territory. You guys are right, lesson learned on my part, but Kia of Irvine still has been absolutely dreadful. Cheers man.

bgn8711,
I appreciate you and others sharing their dreadful dealer experiences on this forum so others can avoid them. Sorry you took a little shrapnel from others throwing grenades in here but in the end these crap dealerships need to be outed. Continue the sharing folks!

So they basically told me that the car was pulled by corporate and sold to someone else. They told me they had another one coming in March. I said no and that I want to void my deal with them immediately and get as far away from them as possible. I am absolutely infuriated and will call corporate today. I'm also going to go down to the dealership as they will not let me speak with a GM on the phone. Sorry and thank you @StephenCantrelle for all your help, they would have never even told me if it wasn't for you. At this point I have no idea what my next move is. I can't stomach to give them my business in any way shape or form so I don't even want to argue for a lower price or incentives.

Exact same reason why i walked away from KIA. Nice SUV but this brand is so infested with horrible dealerships with the exception of few. I could have bought from Muncie but the clowns at Southwest would still have to service it.

And this my friends is why you wait to purchase. Man.... I feel for you. Absolutely the lowest of the low do something like this. They probably had someone willing to pay much more. Disgusting business practice.

First and foremost work on getting your money back (duh). I would for sure contact Kia's US corporate HQ (including using FB or Twitter if needed). Hope you can find an unallocated one. That's the best route IMO to get one sooner than later.

I'd say you need to do several things:

1) Get your money back, and your trade (I think you said you had a trade). If they won't give it to you right on the spot, I'd almost call the police to file a report as it is theft. Heck, maybe they should arrest someone for this garbage. If they sold/moved your trade, you need to be compensated for it, your loss of use, as well as the difference between the taxes when you go to buy a new car (since you will be losing the tax benefit on a trade and that is a tangible loss). May want to contact an attorney on all of this depending on what happens.
2) Contact Kia directly. Request to speak with someone at corporate in their consumer affairs that can actually do something. Not some call center person. I would hope they penalize them harshly.
3) Contact your state attorney general's office. They need to know about this sort of practice. It's illegal.

Even the "[it] was pulled by corporate and sold to someone else" response they gave you sounds like BS. Why would corporate care enough to intervene on a sale of one specific car?
