I hope the best for you.
In my instance it may be true this was assigned to someone else.
However, they were telling me the VIN was clean Friday - Sunday. Now it has someone's name on it that isn't mine...
More pissed about the hard credit check they did....
oh wow, I am also looking to go into Napleton Elgin to look at a Telluride...
Not FL.@JerseySXP Which FL dealer, if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been shopping around and getting disgusted with the runaround down here. I hope it works out!!
CALL Nutley Kia and Tell them Perry sent you! I worked with Pete but they are all great, no BS. One of the easiest most friendly car buying experiences ever.I had the same problem with Fette Kia in Clifton, New Jersey. Saw the Moss T on the website at MSRP a couple of months ago and when I called the price suddenly jumped to 69K! so I nicely told them to go F themselves.
Had the same problem with Smithtown Kia on Long Island, NY. Internet price was upped when I arrived at the dealership. I had the same reaction!
At Fuccillo Kia of Greece in Rochester, NY, I bought a EX T and the ignorant sales person rushed me into signing the paperwork without showing me the car (partly my fault). Once in the car, I realized that there were no front sensors on a 43K car, and a few other things missing from what I thought were supposed to be there. I learned my lesson by not buying over the internet.
I subsequently found an SX Moss with Butter at Miami Lakes Automall Kia, in FL. I traded the EX for the SX which was a little over MSRP. It was hole in the wall, low class, showroom, with the music blaring that you could not hear any conversation. The automall owner has not put a dime into the dealership and only interested in raking in the dollars. I feel bad that the employees have to work under such circumstances. The salesman was very nice, but knew little about the car. Who knows what I payed for it as the invoice is so convoluted and hardly makes any straight forward accounting sense. I was just glad to have found the car I wanted to begin with and get out of there. Still waiting over 6 weeks for NYS registration from dealership.
All these dealers are the biggest crooks. Car buying has to change and this back and forth negotiating has to stop. Every sales person has to go to another person who has to go another person to decide what the price is! It's really an awful experience and I hope this is the last car I buy! Good luck with your buying experiences!
Please name the dealerships you have dealt with. That is the purpose of this thread, so we know which ones to stay away from!
Jim Marsh Kia and Towbin Kia in Henderson, NV are charging at least 6K over MSRP for an SX Pre. NO BUDGING. Jim Marsh has a sales person named Kelly who seems to hate the Telluride, she bragged about the email she set up - KellynoTelly. Findley Kia in Las Vegas is charging 2K over MSRP for anything SX and above.
$2K isn't bad if they have what you want. That's a very reasonable markup. Kelly probably hates the Telly because she doesn't have any to sell!
Similar experience at Greenway west. They wouldn't talk numbers over the phone. Test drive guy was terribly un-knowledgeable about the Telluride. Avoid.Wife and I have been wanting to upgrade to a third row SUV. Happened upon the Telluride and have been loving the reviews and videos. A little hesitant since we’ve never bought a Kia before. She currently loves her cx-5. Went to Greenway West Kia in Orlando to test drive one. Black EX model. Loved it. Go to talk numbers he offers us $8,000 for trade in (Carvana offered 11,880 two days ago and it’s paid off already) and sticker price is 44,950. Also before running our credit (both 800+) would only say we could probably get APR of 3.75% when Kia website says 2.9%. We were also putting another $8,000 down.
Said he could take $1,000 off for rebate but Kia doesn’t do rebates AND the low APR offer. Initially tried to tell me that the higher than MSRP price was including the 10yr/100,000 mile warranty.
Really shady and disappointed. We were ready to get one tonight, now I’m thinking we’re ok waiting.
Happened to me, tried to add 10K at time of delivery, told them no thanks and ordered through Kia of Muncie with costco pricing below MSRP.. Had to wait again, but was worth the extra 10K+ I saved.I recall hearing a few horror stories from buyers where the dealers at DELIVERY added on market adjustments right at the end of the deal.
Custom order...tracking ETAs...finally comes...time for paperwork and they pull back their offer of MSRP.
Has that happened to you, and if so - how did you go about it? Thanks!
That is absolutely unethical.Happened to me, tried to add 10K at time of delivery, told them no thanks and ordered through Kia of Muncie with costco pricing below MSRP.. Had to wait again, but was worth the extra 10K+ I saved.
