Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I had a great experience with Hilltop Kia in Richmond, California. The sales team there is awesome. They are all professional, polite and helpful from beginning to end. We worked with Lewis and Carlos and can give them our highest recommendation.

I got a standard AWD EX because my wife wanted the 2nd row bench but the exterior would be the same. Here’s a couple pictures of the outside.
What was your wife's reasoning for bench over captains? I need to make a decision soon. Definitely narrowed it down to an EX, but packages would change captains chairs or not.

With 2 kids in car seats she may need to get back there and be in between them. Worked out well so far. I’m 6’3” 285 and I even climbed back there during our thanksgiving trip to deal with a fussy baby. I also thought it was nice to have it just to put stuff you want quick access to on a road trip rather than the floor.
I also climbed in the 3rd row at home and moved the bench up a bit and it was very comfortable space wise with a little lean back of the 3rd row. If you want any pictures just let me know.

Parsons Kia in Winchester VA just got 4 S MSRP. No tricks. Family owned smaller dealership. Ask for Matt Herman. Inventory is low but expect you could order at MSRP

Another positive review for Lev Kia in Framingham, MA and Salesman, Ken Russian. Ken is very straightforward, honest with expectations and knows the process. Sales price at MSRP minus any available incentives at time of delivery. Delivery process was completed in about 2 hours which included evaluation of our trade-in, Finance paperwork, full walk-thru of features on the vehicle, new plates and state inspection. Overall a very smooth process and stress free. Definitely recommend Ken and his team if you are in the MA area.

My experience:
After doing my research I test drove a Telluride at the dealership a couple miles away. Their selection was limited and I didn’t like the salesperson on my test drive (he insisted on riding with me and was really pushy). We never got to price because the selection was so limited.
The other dealership in my area was a lot more accommodating, but they are marking all the Tellurides up $6000-$10,000 over invoice. They were very upfront about it and just said thats what the market is right now.
I searched all over for dealers that sell at or below msrp. Cargurus was no help because even if a dealer advertised at or below msrp, when I called about buying the car advertised they’d say there were going to be dealer ad ons that would raise the price $10k.
I finally figured out there are only a handful of dealers in the US selling at msrp. Using this forum I found Stephen Cantrelle (mobile 214-205-6490) at Classic Kia in Carrollton Texas. He lists his inventory on this forum along with the sticker price for each vehicle. I called him out of the blue, he answered, and within minutes I was putting down a deposit to buy a 2021 SX Nightfall AWD in Dark Moss. The car was en route to his dealership from the factory as we made the deal. I financed through the dealership (they fedexed the paperwork) and had the car delivered using Ship a Car Direct. shipping was $750, but it was worth it since I would have paid thousands more to buy the car anywhere near here.
Despite the shipping, this was one of the easiest and most pleasant car buying experiences in my life.
I recommend Stephen without reservation.
(I also posted this in the thread about Georgia buyers since that’s where I’m located).

I had a great experience at Luther Kia in Bloomington Minnesota. My wife and I were referred by friends to our salesperson, Cheri Brotemarkle. She was very straightforward about the deal, selling at MSRP with no mark-up. She always contacted us within a day or two of changes as we went through the order, build and delivery process. While we were waiting for our order to be built, she called and offered a Telluride that would be delivered sooner, after someone else had backed out of it. Without any hassle on our part, we were able to accept delivery over a month sooner than we would have otherwise. After the car arrived at the dealer, she was proactive in telling us the next steps and was very accommodating to our schedule when to pick it up. She was also accommodating to our need to inspect and drive the car prior to meeting with the finance team. Their finance guy, without being overbearing, offered service and warranty packages. When we said no, he didn't harass us about it. He did actually save us a couple hundred bucks by outlining the financing packages and we chose the one that would ultimately save more.

They delivered the car clean and well prepped, including a full tank of gas. Once the paperwork was done, Cheri spent over 30 minutes going over the features of the Infotainment and other areas including warning us about the second row occupancy sensor and how to turn it off :)

Overall an excellent experience, especially when compared to other dealers we've worked with in the past.

Another shoutout to i25kia in Longmont, Colorado. I found them here on the forum. This was the best car buying experience I have had, with the exception of the 5 month wait, waiting for KFOS, waiting for the VIN, etc. But there was nothing they could do about that. Nicole easily took my deposit in July and kept me up to date whenever there was a change. Once the car was delivered they were great with my two requests - no front license plate bracket and no badges/decals. Price was as advertised. Their finance guy, Steve, was fabulous - mentioned things I could add on but absolutely no pressure to buy any of them. We were done in 15 minutes and then Nicole could go over all the things that I did not know about. I was finished in a little more than an hour. Oh, did I mention, they picked me up at the Denver airport and drove me to the dealership. They get a lot of cars and have been selling and delivering Tellurides to folk all over the west - even had some east coast people come and drive back. I would highly recommend Nicole, Steve and George at i25Kia - super easy and no funny business.

Anyone have any luck in the Pacific Northwest? I found one low volume dealer selling at MSRP but said he couldn’t sell non-local (I’m in Seattle, they’re in Eastern WA) something about Kia not allocating them if they sell non local.

Just ordered a Black Copper SX from Blackwell Kia in Danville, VA. MSRP, no markups, no BS. Very nice people to work with. Salesman is Larry Elsey and the Sales manager is Tony Adcock. With the Covid concerns, they were very accommodating and let us take one out by ourselves for a test drive. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent experience with Jed at Jim Shorkey KIA in Irwin, PA. Coming from MD, they were upfront and honest with the pricing, sold it at MSRP and had me in and out very quickly! Highly recommend them!
+1 for a good experience with Jed Reaggle at Shorkey Kia in Irwin PA.

I recommend Rob Bello, sales manager Kings Kia Cincinnati Ohio. Transparent, provided accurate delivery forecast. Took 90 days for delivery. Bought at MSRP, refundable deposit, few dealers take orders at MSRP. I live in Houston Texas. Insane markups in Texas for existing inventory range from $4000-9000 over MSRP. Could not find a dealer within 500 miles willing to accept an order at MSRP. I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. ALL PAPERWORK COMPLETED BEFORE TAKING DELIVERY. IN AND OUT IN 15 MINUTES. FEW DEALERSHIPS OFFER THAT TYPE OF EXPERIENCE...DRAMA IN PURCHASE, DRAMA IN PAPERWORK, ETC.

I'm glad to hear Kings Kia was great! I'm trying to keep a list of local places to buy from next year, and so far, I know to avoid Jeff Wyler like the plague.

Okay, thank you @smithwales1

Who did you end up going with if you don't mind me asking?

I'll reach out to Moe.
Hi @Yeebee29....I'm looking to buy in SoCal as well. Have you had any success or recommendations? I'm reading that many local dealers are marking them up $5K over MSRP. What has been your experience so far? TIA

Thank you for the kind words.. I hope all is perfect with the Telluride.. if you need anything or have any questions just let me know as I am happy to help. Stay safe.

Hi @itsmeken , no luck here in socal but Moe from Hilltop will let you order at MSRP and super nice, but they don't do shipping and long wait-list. My brother also went through another dealer from Colorado and also order at MSRP and no wait-list, and also does shipping, so I'm going to chat with them.

Just found a dealer in SoCal that agreed to sell us a white SX for MSRP. The sales person said that they will sell at MSRP all this week to anyone that comes in. The dealer is Kia of Downtown Los Angeles (New & used KIA Downtown Los Angeles Car Dealer Los Angeles | KIA Downtown Los Angeles). The sales person was Daniel Espinoza. His number is 323-247-0138.

They did try to add a paint protector to the deal, but took that off when asked and then had a higher finance rate than the 1.9 offered by Kia, but changed it to 1.9 after refusing the higher rates. Considering the crazy markup that every other SoCal dealer is charging, I'd say this was a good dealer experience. They honored their offer of selling at MSRP. Hope this helps anyone else looking in SoCal this week.

Just wrapped up my purchase at Sussman Kia [PA066] in Roslyn, PA (greater Philadelphia area). Smaller Kia dealer who states that they have to sell at MSRP to compete against the bigger dealers in the area. Not the most knowledgeable dealership when it comes to Tellurides, but very easy to work with. Found my desired specs on FC, called dealer and put a deposit down on the vehicle. Ordering was an option as well. Acceptable communication since that time, but were always responsive when I reached out. As is expected, finance person proposed the Wheel and Tire warranty (60 mo for $900) and Extended Warranty (10yr / 100K comprehensive for $2,200). I declined and didn't get much follow up pressure. Financed at the going Kia Motor Financials rate of 1.9% for 66mo. They also proposed removing the dealership tag on the back of the car and did it themselves when I agreed because they didn't like how the chrome clashed with the blacked out Nightfall lettering. All in all, very smooth process and I am happy to pay MSRP without hassle, which is what I expected. I primarily worked with Joe Goffredo and a bit with the manager, Chuck Matthews, when I showed up one day when Joe was not there. I'm their only Wolf Gray Telluride so far in case you want to mention my recommendation without my real name (Brian).

I would recommend Matthews Kia of Cartersville in Georgia. I worked with Chris Huth (678-918-6119). I put down a deposit on 7/21 to order a 2021 SX AWD with Prestige/Towing/Nightfall – Dark Moss with Light Gray interior. Came in early afternoon of 11/4 and I picked it up late afternoon. I paid sticker price as promised and no drama with a very easy transaction. Love the ride!
Hey there ... I’m in GA looking to pre order and came across your post. Sounds like you had a positive experience with Chris. How was his overall communication about the process? Did the dealership add any of their “protection” packages at time of delivery? Anything that surprised you in the process that you needed to work through?
Appreciate your help! My biggest fear is putting down a deposit, waiting for 3-4 months, only to see the dealer sell my pre ordered car to someone else because they profit more.

my Kia in Salinas ca,sells at MSRP I originally purchased the moss S 2020 in April 2020 . The staff is nice and upfront with selling msrp stating we appreciate your business and not try to price gouge . So on Friday went in for a oil change and just asked if they can get me a 2021 sx gravity gray. Said let me get back to you. 1hr later said I have one in Oakland I’ll have it here Saturday afternoon.
