S Trim Headlights Not Bright

My wife was ahead of me bringing our Telly home last night and she commented that the headlights weren't very bright. And, our S doesn't have floodlights. I'll probably upgrade the bulbs anyway but has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was your resolution? Thanks in advance.

I have a EX and I replaced the stock blubs with Sealight 9005 HB3 LED blubs ($69.99 on Amazon). They are plug and play and fit in the stocking housing with no issues. Made a big difference and match the daytime running LED lights.

Would you mind putting a link to the exact ones you bought? I see several pop up with that model number. My husband noted that the current halogens heat up the outside of the lens, a lot! We park in the garage and when he went around the front between the Telly and the wall to our kitchen he put his hand down on the front of the Telly to squeeze through and said it nearly burnt his hand where part of it touched the headlight lens.

Also, is it just the bulb that gets replaced, not the little dome magnifier thing? I'll try to explain this to my husband as he had the same concern about the brightness in addition to the heat. Did you have to remove the headlight assembly to swap the bulbs? I can't get out to look under the hood.

You will just be replacing the bulbs, Not the dome magnifier thingy .. I'm not sure of bulb sizes as I don't have one yet, but usually the low and high beams are different bulb sizes. Someone else can help you with that part.

One blub for each light. so you only need to order one kit The dome and headlight itself stays

Is there a dust cover on the back of the headlight that you had to drill through for the install? or does the back of the bulb just plugs into the headlight?

Pull the dust cover off then you push and turn the blub 1/4 turn and it will pull out. the new blub plugs into the same plug. I put the new LED blub in 1st then placed the square power box on the side. it did fit just takes sometime to move into place. The dust cover goes back on with no issues.. No drilling required.

Did you get a message when you tried to order that said it does not fit a 2020 Kia Telluride? I don't know if I picked the wrong one, there are 6 choices on the link above, but the 9005/HB3(1:1 Design) was highlighted so that's what I selected. I don't know if it is the wrong one or if the vehicles it fits just isn't updated yet? I had an issue setting up our toll pass in that Sunpass doesn't have a Telluride as an option yet so that may be the same issue here?

Ok, great, I've got them ordered! Thank you all for even mentioning this as an option, I figured we'd need to change out the whole headlight assembly to get LED's and couldn't justify that cost on a brand new vehicle.

I gotcha, any concerns with heat? if there is a fan on the LED box or bulb it will require some air circulation.... I plan to do this as soon as I get the car, just wonder if we are better off ordering a spare dust cap and drilling it.... Thanks again for a quick responce

LED bulbs use less power, thus create less heat. The LED bulbs should create less heat than the standard HID bulbs.
