• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... SX Headlights

Pretty sure its the blue glare that all LEDs give off - not a Telluride specific issue. Two possible bad outcomes: road rage or oncoming driver blinded and hits you. I’m gonna stick with the stock headlights for now (LX).

I have only been flashed once. And I knew the guy, he did not know it was me. I asked him later and he said that he saw the second sub light and thought I had my brights lights on.

Yes, the lights are very bright, but no more the the average out there. And nothing will change until we get congress to change the 1960's law banning ADB lights.

Some light reading. Contract congress tell them to change 49 CFR § 571.108 - Standard No. 108. Tell them that they need to stop banning ADB lights.

Well, I’m kind of relieved that I’m not the only one. I get flashed a lot... one time even a guy in front of my Telluride even told me. I had it inspected by the dealer and I was told that the head lights are in the proper settings, that they can be adjusted if I wanted too, but I didn’t. Has anyone get them adjusted?

have you tried leaving your fog lights on? I have never been flashed but I also drive with the fog lights enabled.. most drivers know that fog lights will only be on with low beams, so maybe this would help people realize that you aren't high beaming them?
Appreciate the tip. I have had the fog lights on every time I am driving. Never had them before so I like using them.

Finally got tired of being flashed at and lowered them. Much better now, not getting flashed at any longer and now the brights actually light up further down the road instead of lighting up the tops of the trees.

Did you do it yourself, or have dealer adjust?

Did it myself..torx bit T-60..top adjustment on the back of the housing.

Thx, I will look into that. I think there's detail on that TSB I once referenced.

By any chance, do you know what other three screws do? I've tried them just out of curiosity, and they seem to do exactly the same as the top one does, i.e. vertical adjustment.

Ok....I have the SX and I DO get "flashed" way more than I did on my previous Ford Explorer......that being said, I THINK that the whole LED lighting thing has made it a "tough" world out there....max lighting capabiity on YOUR car make it tough on the one coming at you. But for me at the age I am at....I LOVE the extreme lighting capability of these "low beam" LED lights.....not sure what the final answer SHOULD be, but I love the lighting capability of this TELLY!
I agree.I am pleasantly surprised with how bright the headlight are. With that being said.I have owned mine for two weeks now and have
only gotten flashed once.Weird

Flashing is a thing people do when you don't have super dim lights. My 7 year old Touareg still gets flashed regularly because they think my regulars are high beams.

No, didn't even try them once I got the desired effect from the top one.

So did anyone else get the voluntary service notice in the mail regarding adjusting the LED headlights? Must have been enough complaints about it that they're adjusting them. I know I'm going to go do it.

What does it say.

Curious if my VIN assigned yesterday model will have a different aim?

I brought my SX-P into my local KIA dealer for my first oil change the other day and they told me the headlights were under recall and needed to be adjusted. I mentioned I had seen on this forum that the beam was pointed too high and the service tech replied, “Yep”. It’s fixed.

This is the kind of thing one would figure Kia would push out on its app as well.

I wonder if the “new setting” gives the same results as the ones the NHTSA in their headlight test?
I look over that data pretty carefully and it would be a shame if it over-represented the new real world performance

I adjusted mine lower and they are still better than any headlights of any of the cars I have owned. This is actually better because the brights actually do light up the road now instead of the trees. I actually use the auto brights now.
