• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We have a Telluride SX with LED headlights. We constantly have oncoming cars flashing us thinking our brights are on. This is even with the fog lights switched off. Anyone else having this same issue. Wondering if the dealer might be able to adjust the angle if the beams. We’d appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I think people are confusing the low beam/sub-low beam as “high beam” when they see two bulbs lit. Doesn’t matter it if it’s actually bright or not, it’s just a Pavlovian reaction to seeing the dual beam. You can’t fix that unless you can turn off the sub-low beam.

We get flashed once in a while. Not sure if they can be adjusted. I wonder if it might be related to the oncoming traffic coming down a slight hill. I think many drivers aren't used to the newer cars with LED headlights.

I'm sure you know, but your low beam looks like this...It has two beams....low and sub-low beam. I think that's why they flash you!

I finally drove ours last night and those headlights are very bright and expand to the sides. I was in the right lane of a 3 lane highway and could see al 3 lanes clea as day and very far down the road. Don't think I'll ever need to use the brights on this thing. The lo beams are better than my highs on the Mustang. I really see no need for adaptive headlight on this like the Stinger has, they are that much brighter. I did not have anybody flash me last night, which surprised me.

I passed people on a 2 lane highway for about 45 and noone flashed. The top cutoff line is very distinct and looked to cut the light in just the right place.

From the posts around here I expected someone to road rage me.

We are getting flashed by oncoming traffic 5-10 times every time we drive at night. I asked our dealers service shop and they said the low beams are self adjusting and they can’t do anything to lower/adjust them. Does that sound right to anyone? Getting frustrated, and feel kinda bad. Lol

No, they aren't self adjusting..the Stinger gT2 has self leveling and adaptive headlights, but not the Telly.

On our drive home last night we had just one person flash us (first time for us) out of probably 30 cars going the other way. he wife drives it to work every day during morning rush on 2 lane roads going both ways and says she has never been flashed. Weird.

good to know! I didn’t think they were self adjusting I just haven’t looked into it myself yet. I’m going to bring it to a different service shop and have them make an adjustment.

I get flashed at least 3 times a night every time I drive. It’s getting annoying! I just flash them back to let them see I am not high beaming anyone.

So I finally brought my SX into the dealer to check out the headlights and they said they are well within the proper range. I love my SX, I’m just so tired of getting flashed multiple times each night. People are NOT used to seeing vehicles with Low Beam and Sub-Low Beams and just assume the High Beams are on!

I have the EX and the lights suck, so was thinking of buying the SX ones and putting them in, but if everyone gets constantly flashed, maybe not...

Isn't "flashing" illegal? Oh....maybe not that kind. ROFL!

So I have an SX and I thought it was bad in general, but not nearly as bad as tonight. Imagine picking up flooring supplies from the ol' Home Depot and your rear end is down just a hair further than normal, pointing that beautiful light right into the eyes of ALL oncoming traffic the entire way home.

It was awful. Flashed at least 8 times. I felt so bad! But what am I gonna do? Turn the lights OFF?

Try upgrading your OEM bulbs to LEDs it will look a lot better.

Ok....I have the SX and I DO get "flashed" way more than I did on my previous Ford Explorer......that being said, I THINK that the whole LED lighting thing has made it a "tough" world out there....max lighting capabiity on YOUR car make it tough on the one coming at you. But for me at the age I am at....I LOVE the extreme lighting capability of these "low beam" LED lights.....not sure what the final answer SHOULD be, but I love the lighting capability of this TELLY!

I get flashed often by on coming traffic.
Yesterday I actually had a driver in front of me flip me off out his window and twice tried to drive Into me and then drove behind me flashing his high Beams at us. I took 2 flash photos of his van when he was in front of me, after turning off and on my high beams and that settled him down and he let me pass him on the highway.
I need need to connect my dash cam to report this type of reaction to the police.
Love the SUV but the low beam is close to a deal breaker for me.

have you tried leaving your fog lights on? I have never been flashed but I also drive with the fog lights enabled.. most drivers know that fog lights will only be on with low beams, so maybe this would help people realize that you aren't high beaming them?

I wish that turning the fog lights on made a difference. I always have the fog lights on.
