What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

Just got a SX prestige black copper dune Napa. Dealer marked up 3k but then allowed the rebates that we qualified for, so basically $500 over msrp plus competitive financing offer. I wouldn’t pay over msrp for anything but SX prestige as that is the only model backordered (until Oct).

They say they have 20 more coming in. Koons kia Woodbridge VA. Good dealer experience.

Food for thought- I was told by a different dealer in TN that Kia has reduced the MSRP for the first year to make a splash and that it will go up 10-15% next model year. So pay over msrp now or pay a higher msrp next year. I guess only time will tell if this true or just dealer talk, but seemed reasonable.
This is my thought process for justifying paying over MSRP. The price increase is inevitable. I think you got a good deal for an SXP. Congrats!

I picked up my EX AWD w/ tow package and a few extras (all weather mats, all weather tri-fold cargo mat and mud guards) for MSRP ($41,645). I opted for their protection package as well, which added ~$2400 to the price. Include taxes/fees and my out the door cost was ~$47k.

What does the protection package include?

PearlWhite EX w/ FWD out the door price $40,900. Included having the dealer add roof bars and a tow package. In Florida.
That’s the exact configuration I want, I would do that deal right now in Arizona.

This is what they offer. Basically interior and exterior protection, plus the guaranteed trade in value at one of their many dealerships.

I think it's also helpful for anyone here to compare trims of other models you are looking at. When comparing to Atlas, Ascent, Highlander, I feel MSRP on the Telly is still a killer price compared to those vehicles. Want ventilated seats? Need SEL Premium for the Atlas, and Touring for the Ascent. Both of those are going to be 45k+. It all depends on what features you want. I think Kia aggressively priced this vehicle and their incentives, so most people are complaining about how they would "never pay MSRP", which is fine, but compare the options! If you are paying MSRP for a car that has more features that YOU want but it's still 5k cheaper than another brand, is it a bad deal?

That just sounds like you are justifying it to me. If I wanted to look at a more expensive car, I and everyone would. But when you look for a car in a price range and it is still in that price range, then you found what you are looking for. Oh wait, no you didn't, the dealer just tacked on a surcharge or what ever you want to label it. The sticker and options / packages haven't changed. The manufacturer (KIA) hasn't changed the price. The dealer did. So then we just have to decide how bad we want it. Or move on to another vehicle.

@Gr8pumpkin . The dealer buys the vehicle from the manufacturer. They then choose to sell them for the price people will pay.

If you owned something and it was worth more than what you paid, what would you sell it for? Only a fool would sell it for less than what the market will pay.

Manufacturer SUGGESTED Retail Price. A suggestion is just a suggestion.

Put in an order for an LX the other day for just over 34K OTD. Little more than I wanted to pay but worth it to me so I’m happy. For anyone wanting to compare, that was a little under MSRP, around 31,400. Now we will see if the waiting is any different than those ordering EX or SX.

Congrats on the new ride. For comparison, I paid 48,595 OTD for SXP AWD w/tow / carpets / cargo mat / cargo cover / and lighted scuff plates. (Includ conquest & finance cash, 6.25% tax & tags) Placed the order in mid march just before the hype spread to the Northeast. Continuously contacted the dealer during the 9 week delivery cycle to ensure they would honor my deal which they did.

Still, 47K is a good price for the EX which the market is obviously setting. I gotta think tat Kia is re-assessing the entire pricing model for the Telluride and that Hyundai is going to apply the learning to the soon to be announced Pallisade pricing. The market is telling them they left lots of money on the table.

I think you're misunderstanding my point. Focus on the commodity itself. I paid 38.5k OTD for something that would have cost me well over 40k if I went with other manufacturers.

Thanks! I didn’t finance through Kia because the rates were insane, so unfortunately wasn’t able to take advantage of any in house rebates. Had I passed on the protection package, it would have been closer to $44k. Sounds like you got quite the deal though! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else get OTD under 50k for and SXP. Isn’t the MSRP just under what you walked out the door at? I want to say $47k or so?

Thanks. Yes MSRP was $48,110 not including the lighted scuff plates and cargo cover.

What dealership did you use if you don’t mind me asking?

Looks like they waxed the car for $2400 and offer PDR and to “repair” rips/tears/burns on the seats? Never seen a leather seat rip before. This seems like 100% profit to the dealer...

45.5 otd for sxp here. 1,700 dealer discount plus full incentives (2,500) so total 4,200 off msrp. Ordered may 2 picking up this weekend latest. After seeing all this craziness with dealer markups... Id say I'm in the extreme minority.
