I live in Bakersfield CA. In late May I drove 100 miles to Ventura Ca. to check out Black S FWD model they had advertised for MSRP. $35090.00. When I arrived I asked about it and was told that it was available but price was $42000 since it had been equiped with dealer add-ons. I explained that I did not want these add-ons just the vehicle. No deal they said you have to buy it as it is. No discounts what soever. I told them that I was pre-approved for $36000 only and was told by finance mgr that the credit union would finance additional price for add-ons, tax, title, fees, and extended warranty. Total out the door $49475.00 OUCH. Well they felt confident that with only $500 down that they would get the deal they wanted with me being the patsy. So I took the keys knowing my credit union would probably not finance $14000 over MSRP with only $500 down. Went to credit union on Monday and they couldn't believe that I had signed a contract with price and payment so high. They politely said no unless I put down a other $13500..yeh right. Well I decided to use my head and not my heart. In California dealer has 10 days only to find a customer financing or they must either assume the loan themselves or send customer certified letter asking for vehicle to be returned. This dealer did neither so after 10 days no financing offer Duh!. They I formed me that I must return vehicle to which I I formed them if they attempted to bully me now I would sue them. Well guess what the next day I received a call..Out the door price with add-ons $40150. I went back to my credit union and they approved my loan. Dealer had the gall to ask that I recommend them to others..piece of advise to Southern Californians wanting a good deal or either MSRP at this time. Expect false advertising as all dealers are advertising MSRP and either installing Dealer add-ons or just adding premium price up to $10000 for the opportunity to purchase. Crooked .I did find one honest dealer in Selma near Fresno willing to sell me one for MSRP if and only if I put down $1000 and special ordered it from factory to be picked up at there location. Of course I had to ask how long I would be waiting..Could be a while he said. Advise play hardball and know your states laws as these dealers are sharks with pricing on such an awesome ride like the 2020 Telluride..All in all it was definitely worth my trouble.Awd or fwd?
What dealership? Nice work on the discount on purchase price - that's unheard of. Was that due to a financing incentive? I assume your taxes figure includes the tax on the purchase price less trade... as that's much less than 6.25% of purchase price. Please post some pics! I had not thought of balloon option yet... did like the lease cash - but the money factor was quite high.
Here is the process for calculating the tax on the Balloon Loan option in Texas. It is similar to a purchase where you get credit for your trade-in value.
Purchase Price: $45,317
Less Rebates: ($2,400)
Less Trade Allowance. ($34,000)
Taxable Balance: $8,917
Sales Tax (Rate 6.25%): $557.31
Inventory Tax (.2530%): $109.57. This was on the PP minus rebates
Pretty darn good deal.

Literally spent the whole weekend fielding offers and most dealership offers averaged 42-44K out the door for a similar package. I did buy on June 30th (end of the month/quarter) which may have helped some... but still, paying MSRP for a car doesn’t feel great lol. But hey, given the current market and my wife’s upcoming birthday.. totally worth it!
Umm kia.com?can anyone tell me what Msrp is for the ex awd and fwd and then same for sx in the awd and fwd. getting all kinds of conflicting information from dealers I spoke with. Thanks

We ordered the SX with Prestige package for lease 3 months ago. The salesman and i agreed to use the "Build and Price" model on Kia.com with the incentives at the time of the order. We gave $2000 down. You should know in advance that the "order" is not a "purchase" and any incentive at the time of the order may or may not be in place at the time of purchase. In our case that could be a $2800 increase. I would try to get in writing something that says the order incentives will hold for purchase, but good luck with that.Looking for an EX FWD here in Houston. I went to a dealership the other day looking for one. Don't want to bore you with the details as I know many of you have been through similar situations, but it was easily the worst buying experience I've ever had and after wasting half of my day there I ended up leaving empty-handed.
Anyway, my question is this: Can someone that's gone through the whole process explain how ordering your Telluride works step-by-step? Is a price agreed upon before ordering? Any contracts or money involved before placing it? I appreciate the help!
Anyone on here buy SXP/ tow package in Denver, CO? My order is due to come in two weeks and I am wondering if I will have any negotiating power. Also not worried about walking away if they bump the price up
I'm happy for you. I haven't heard a peep from my dealer except when i called the sales manager to get an update, which was worthless.View attachment 2285
Just wanted to update everyone! I ended up getting my SXP (dark Moss, grey Nappa) last week with the dealer I ordered it with. They did not mark it up whatsoever at i25 Kia in Longmont, CO. I leased it for 3 years, 15k miles per year. We had the towing package and AWD option. We also got $500 in accessories included since we pre-ordered at the Denver Auto Show back in March (it was delivered on July 1st and I picked it up July 2nd). We had $3,200 in rebates so it brought the cost down to about $44k. I rolled a little bit of negative equity into my lease so my payment is higher but I was expecting that. No money down required. Overall I had a great experience and Joe at i25 Kia was extremely informative and kept me updated throughout the whole process. I'm very happy with our decision to upgrade!
